This review is for their camp…read more It's crazy that nine years ago I went on the zip line course and here we are now and I have a seven-year-old who went to camp here. I actually had no idea they had a camp in the summer until one of my son's friends wanted to go here and asked us to join him. I'm so glad he did because it was an absolutely fantastic camp. It is fully outside, but they are mainly in the shade so I didn't worry about sunburn and also the kids never complained about it being hot. I have no idea what wizardry this is, but it was completely fine. Three days they zip line and two days they paddleboard. I was actually quite nervous because my son is small so I wasn't sure if he'd be able to zip line. I did call and ask and they said if it's a windy day that he would be tethered to a Guide. He ended up skipping zip lining for two of the days, but on the final day of zip line, he did it and he loved it. He's actually now asking for us to go back together. They also provide lunch, which is fantastic because I hate figuring out what to send for food. They provide snacks as well so all I had to do was send my son with a water bottle and on certain days with a swimsuit and towel. He had a fantastic time. You can drop off at 8:30 and pick up at 4:30, they really don't start till about 9:30 though and I totally took advantage of a later drop off. You can pay eight dollars a day to pick up at five, which is extremely reasonable. We've already been talking about going back to camp again here next year and maybe for additional weeks. He loved it.

Once we arrived the crew explained everything to us gave us the safety demo and we were off! Our guides, Andrew and Ryan were amazing! They were young and vibrant and kept our daughters entertained (6-7 IYKYK). We went through each zip line and obstacle with ease and had a great time while doing it. We learned a few fun facts about the birds and wildlife we came across and were given a few places to head to once we left. Overall this was a fun event to add to our great vacation. The trail was definitely different and very scenic, with some steep and narrow paths; not your typical flat and boring. The guests loaded up on a golf cart type vehicle to get from check in to the barn. Then we all waited while Sadie (?) actually grilled and ate a hot dog in front of us!! Same girl upon giving her instructions told everyone "to make your horse go, kick it, and if it doesn't go keep kicking it.. harder". I was appalled!!! One the trail ride, the other girl would take a few photos. I did want pictures of my daughter and I together,so I bought the package. Which is everyone in your group, and that day I think there were 12 or so. The photos she took were not good,but what can ya do? I should have let a gentleman in the group who offered to take my phone and take pictures. Also, between waiting to get on a horse and then waiting for everyone to dismount and get back to the main building, the total ride time was just under an hour. It really is pretty though. I think there were just too many people who booked the same day and time leading to a slightly shorter ride.

They understaff, under run the rides to save on maintenance, and generally don't care. Go literally anywhere else. After the show, I explored the rest of the park. It isn't that large but was a nice area and worth the $13 to get in. They have an area for swimming in part of the springs. I didn't bring my swimsuit but there were many people swimming and having a good time. There are some water slides too. They have a great gift shop. We caught the last 15 minutes of the show as it runs from 11-11:30, 1:30-2pm and 3-3:30pm. It's a relatively small park. The mermaid show is cute if you have children under the age of 10 years old. Otherwise, give it a miss. Admission is $13 ea a little less for kids. 4 of us cost about $42 for entrance fees. They have a water slide that was not operating. They have a small "nature " walk. They have a boat that was not running to look at nature and they have a 30 minute animal encounter educational experience with a ranger. She showed and talked about two kinds of turtles, a snake and a small alligator. Walking around they have photo ops to look like a mermaid and after the show you have a chance to photograph yourself with a live mermaid from the show. If you have $50- $100 your kid can have a "mermaid makeover". We were at the park for maybe 1.5 hours. I suppose if the boat was running and the water slide was operating one could spend up to 3 hours. It was an interesting experience. Once is enough.

I had heard from locals that it's a great local option over the big theme parks. Fun Spot was pretty great, for what it was. Free parking, free admission if you don't plan on riding rides, also a discounted adult pass if you only are going on rides with your kid who is too young to ride alone. The whole place was small, maybe the area of a handful of city blocks. And on the Sunday afternoon when we went, the place was quiet enough that we never waited more than a few minutes to get onto a ride. As we were only there for a couple hours, the cashier recommended the 4 ride pass for my kids, and the companion pass for me. But if one were to spend more hours there, buying the day pass online for $59.95 is quite a bargain. Not all rides were open, but the "big" rides that most kids want (the roller coasters and the go carts) were open. My daughter, who is not a big roller coaster fan, had a harder time finding kiddie rides that she actually wanted to go on, and she watched the go carts and didn't even want to try those with me driving. However, the place was small enough that I felt fine leaving my 10 year old son to go on rides by himself while I went on the Ferris wheel or the merry go round with my 8 year old. There are a bunch of food options available throughout the park. They were definitely more affordable than Disney prices! Most of the places offered souvenir cups with discounted refills, but there were also water stations set up throughout with free cups. For Christmas, we decided to head to Florida. Not one of my favorite states for many reasons, but that's another story. We made reservations for a family of four and arrived during the morning wave. My boys are 12. We had so much fun! Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE trees. So, to play among the trees was so lovely. We went through the entire course. I believe it took us an hour and a half. I was the caboose for my group and kept moving steadily. There were a few areas where you can opt to detour harder courses but we did them all. Honestly, your core strength will be tested on some of the sections. Luckily, our group never held up anyone behind us. So glad we went before the next crowd as the sections can get backed up if you're behind a slow group. Go early and be strategic. Assert yourself to be first in your group if you suspect newbies that might be slower. They have water stations but you do have to pay for that perk. Staffing was unremarkable. They did their job outfitting us briefly and explaining the clips for locking in and unlocking on the course. To conclude, we had a great time and would do it again. My only dislike was that it felt too short.
