What a great way to avoid trying to find parking at the new Coachman Park! I'd much rather pay a few bucks for a fun ride from Dunedin and spend a little time on the water. They drop and pick up right outside Coachman Park on the dock. Super convenient, the guys driving and confirming tickets were very nice. You can go standby as long as there are open seats. You can buy in advance online - suggested... but it is not quite up to date... the website is also a bit finicky. Not sure how reliable all the info/details are yet... They are just getting started but I'm not sure if that means it's brand new for that location or just for the 2023 season. We ended up just paying cash and the pricing was different online than what we were charged in person. Last ferry from Coachman Park back to Dunedin during the week is at 9:30 pm...if you're there for a show you might miss the boat! I'm not sure about weekends but I'll be using it again on a Saturday soon so I'll update my review if there's more to report. But definitely choose this and the Jolley Trolley over other options when possible. It's cheaper and more fun! read more

We called the office with questions, and they were very helpful and kept in contact with us until we were ready to board (note: the boarding location has changed to the end of the dock, office did not know this). Suggested you purchase tickets in advance and bring cash for a tip. We were picked up right next to Coachman Park Marina, rode over to the Clearwater Beach marina, and back, just went for a fun short trip. The price is right for families, kids, everyone! Much better than trying to find parking on Clearwater Beach, save your money and the hassle, and ride the Ferry! Captain Ralph and First Mate Alex were professional, friendly and full of amazing local tidbits throughout our ride, describing locations as we putted along the intracoastal. An early June visit to Dunedin meant we'd need to find a way to the Beach. Rather than sitting in traffic and paying excessive parking fees, we opted for the Clearwater Ferry. We are so glad we did! Boarding is at the small Marina next to the Best Western hotel. A prompt arrival and departure with a modest load of passengers made for a great start of a beautiful and affordable water journey into CWB. Likewise, the return trip at sunset was an awesome way to wrap up a trip over and back. If you haven't tried this, whether you're a local or just visiting, I'd highly recommend doing so! read more

Absolutely horrible!!! We had a concert at the sound... paid for a round trip ride from Dunedin. They said they would not leave us, and that no matter how long the concert lasted, they would be there to get us back to Dunedin. Concert ended.. no boat.. cost us $60 to take an Uber.. Ferry never showed up at the scheduled time (nor was there any sign of it afterwards). Miserable experience waiting in the baking sun like an idiot for a boat that never arrived. Nobody answered their phone #, and there were no signs and no explanations at the marina (any other ferry/tour/boat service either answers or has a message explaining why they may not be running). Those of us waiting for the ferry wasted our time, and gave up. There are plenty of things to do in Clearwater. But, waiting for the ferry that doesn't show up is not one of the activities I'd recommend to anyone. read more

Clearwater Ferry is perfect for those times when there is a festival in Coachman Park, & you want to do the best of both worlds, fest and beach. Can't beat free parking, and a relaxing boat ride. The ferry can be found at Coachman Park and it goes to the Clearwater Beach marina by the tour boats and Crabby Bills. It is $8 round trip per person, & you can use cash or credit. It is dog friendly too. It is not far from the beach when you get to the marina. You simply walk across the street. There are bathrooms also once you get off the ferry to the right when you walk through the gates. It's definitely worth it. Clearwater Beach is currently lacking in parking and it cost an arm and a leg. If you don't want to seal with that, and traffic over the bridge, this is an excellent alternative. read more

They changed the location for pickup in downtown clearwater but never updated the website or anything which recommends to park at courthouse (still does)This is due to the construction going on. So at least 30 people were all waiting at normal location for 20min until some city worker advises us that ferry pickup was changed to location about a 15 minute walk down by the library on Drew street (no parking either) seems no one was told about the changes since there were so many of us waiting. So everyone all walks and gets at this other location at around 10:35 to watch the ferry gone already. Yes we were late but that was because the location changed. Thanks for waiting for about half your reservations. You text us hour later to refund money since there is no way to reach an actual human. Our day ruined since we then missed our charter that we had scheduled. Whole point of taking ferry was to avoid hassle at the advice of charter service and you guys end up being the issue. Don't bother apologizing again or blaming the city. You knew it changed or else how did the ferry know where to go? Instead update your app and website or put a message at the regular location alerting people. If it wasnt for the city worker we would all still be waiting. TLDR; To others in the future, just take the trolley or drive. read more

Should be zero. Went to get a new engine. Told everyone that it would be be 45 minutes. Apparently it didn't, but instead of waiting for people after telling them all 45 minutes they came early and left half the passengers. When they arrived an hour later they refused to take the passengers and left us in clearwater. And instead took a empty ferry out of the marina. Insane. When confronted she yelled at everyone and drove away. Came back yelled at us again and then left. Wild experience. May be a pleasant way to travel but an insanely unprofessional way to conduct a business. Avoid the mystery of whether you'll be left behind and just take an Uber. Reply: hi thanks for the quick reply. The safety and wait were totally reasonable and appreciated. The issue was that we were told that The ferry would return in 45 minutes. We, and many others, walked to a store and returned within 30 minutes. Unbeknownst to us, a new ferry returned in under 30 minutes. But rather than reviewing the passenger log, contacting those who had tickets for the delayed ferry, or waiting the announced 45 minute period, the ferry left port and us behind. After waiting an hour, what we believed to be the ferry arrived. When we tried to board, the employee, rather than explain the situation professionally or offer any resolution, began shouting at the stranded passengers and informed us that we could wait another 2 hours for another ferry (of which we had no tickets for or guaranteed seats on). She then left the dock with an empty ferry to go to her next stop, leaving 10 people behind. When one of the other passengers ran to the end of the dock and started yelling to the leaving ferry, she turned around, docked, yelled back at the customer, and then left again with an empty ferry. The entire experience was wild. Maybe a system of alerting your customers in the future can help prevent this. But until then, maybe just not yelling at customers being abandoned on the other side of a bay and troubleshooting the issue would have gone a long way. Until then, I'm out the price of my ticket, another $40 on a lyft, 3 hours, and a dinner reservation in Dunedin. Just glad i didn't have a flight. read more

Found this by accident. I was going into Clearwater in one of my old race cars and got stuck in tourist traffic... needless to say old race car combined with a wall of traffic and 90° it started getting pissy and heating up so I jumped off 60 just to try to get some air thru the radiator and seen signs for the ferry so I followed them. To my surprise there was free parking and the fee for the ferry was as about as much as I would have paid for parking so that was a win. It was also a nice lil boat ride across that only me and my daughter were on. The captain of the boat saw some dolphins so he stopped the boat and pointed them out to my daughter which was really cool of him. This is a convenient way to get to Clearwater Beach without sitting in the wall of traffic over the bridge and risking your life at the roundabout. read more

Skip the expensive parking nightmare on Clearwater Beach. Clearwater Ferry will take you to the beach and back for just $8. Plenty of free parking next to the docking pier. It operates for most of the day. You'll be way less stressed if you choose this for your beach day. I wish I had heard of this years ago. One of the worst things about visiting a festival in Clearwater Beach is the traffic and the parking. This was the cure for both problems. Easy parking and a leisurely boat ride and you are dropped off at the marina on the other side of the roundabout from pier 60. Plus if you are more of a trolley person there is a stop next door to the ferry launch. It saves so much hassle and aggravation. You can't beat this deal!! $8 per person for unlimited trips for a day between Clearwater and Clearwater Beach. Used them to bypass the bridge traffic to get to Clearwater for the centennial celebration and fireworks show. Took about 10 mins to make the trip. The captain and first mate were awesome and even gave us their boat cell number to call in case we came back late and they were not at the dock yet. I imagine this is probably the best deal if you are going to the beach because you can park for free near coachman park and take the ferry past the gridlocked bridge to the beach....unless you like sitting in traffic and driving in circles looking for parking spots! read more

We just moved to Clearwater a couple months ago and learned real quick that the only logical option for getting to the beach is via ferry...parking is EXTREMELY limited on Clearwater Beach (we circled around for 45 minutes for dinner on a Friday night) AND you have to pay to park (at least in the areas we were looking). We now only take the water ferry over to spend a day or night at the beach. Parking at the downtown marina is free, it's $8 roundtrip per person, and the schedule runs frequently and late! 12am is their last pickup time from the Northshore location. So you factor in $10+ for parking at the beach on top of the stress and bridge traffic versus a stress-free boat ride for $8/person. Well duh, no-brainer. We love the crew (Greg, Randy, Tyler & co), always very friendly and full of suggestions for things to do and places to eat. You can get a punch card, too! 10 one-ways=1 free one-way ride. We don't even bother driving and actually look forward to our trips to the beach even more now because of the water taxi! Tip: if you do plan on getting the last ride of the day (11:45pm-12am), call the number online or ask one of the crew members if you need to call ahead for late pickup. read more

When we first got on the boat everything was fine. Quick entry and a nice ride to a boat dock where we got off to have lunch. We came back to the area where we were dropped off and noticed the boat coming back so we walked to where it docked and talked to the lady on the boat where ahe explained she couldnt board any one till 3:20pm and we could walk a round or wait by the waiting area for boarding at 3:20 (boat leaves at 3:30) it was 2:59pm. No problem there we understood the rules. So we walked back down to the boat and it was 3:21. When we approached the boat we were then meet by the man on the boat (driver) who said very very rudely that we were told to wait up by the waiting area until the lady on the boat came up to get us. We were never told that and once we make it back up to the waiting area the lady then walks to the waiting area and tells us she never would of made us walk back. Worst customer service ever. Its hot outside as it is and we just didnt need the rudeness and back and forth. Not a very good experience unfortunately. The lady seemed apologetic but whoever that man is doesnt need to be working with people period! read more

What a fun experience! We had people in our group ages 3 yrs-88 yrs and we all had a BLAST! We took the ferry both ways=2 trips total and saw dolphins both times! Each time the Captain cut the motor and idled just so we could enjoy and take pictures. Both Captains and First Mates were very friendly and with coupons we were handed upon arrival we paid approximately half of what we had calculated. This is a fantastic way to get to Clearwater Beach! The parking is ample and free on the Clearwater side. The crew is extremely friendly and fun. Where else can you take a beautiful boat ride all day long for $8. I noticed the ferry only because I was parked on the bridge leading to the beach. That crossing in my car took 45 minutes and possibly several years off my life. That doesn't include the time it took to find a parking spot. I have been a fan of the ferry since it has opened. But lately my feelings have changed. Over the last two months, using the ferry has been more of a struggle than it is worth. It seems like their new employees have no idea what is going on or how to communicate with people who are willing to use their service. It's another great idea in theory, yet their execution could improve. For example properly communicating the real arrival schedule, having individuals queued up in line pre-pay so they can quickly get on the ferry upon arrival and have an employee count off the queue to mark where the maximum capacity is while guests are in line rather than after when they have been waiting for at least an hour in line already would greatly improve this business. read more

After the first attempt to ride this we were disappointed when we couldn't board. We gave it another go this weekend. We had Capt Greg and First Mate Shannon. They were early for boarding and provided us a great ride both ways with good conversation. We even saw some dolphins along the way. We made reservations on July 2 about 10am, 4 children and 2 adults, the website conf, and we paid. We tried to go Saturday 14th 1:15 time from Dunedin to Clearwater Beach and they told us we did not have a reservation, or booked on the blue line. None of this information was on the website when we book, and we show our conf resv, and the amount we paid to the girl working on the ferry, and how we booked off the website, with all info on the conf piece of paper. She then told us this was wrong, and make another reservation with our smart phone. Well we do not have a smart phone, and she would not honor our reservation, and she told my husband, and I and our 4 grandchildren to get off of the ferry. Great experience we had for the Dunedin stop, and we were all looking forward to going. I will also post this info to my Dunedin Facebook and to our Dunedin neighbor network as well, so other do not get disappointed in this Ferry like we did. read more

Wish I could give this zero stars. First they tell me the price is $4 back and forth so I go ahead and take a group of 22 people with me. After paying $88 dollars to get on the new employee gave me no ticket to know I have paid never mind get back on from the other side. All she told me is that I would be all set. After waiting for almost 2 hours, she starts pulling people from the back to get on a different boat, these people were gonna get on first and cut nearly 30 mins of their wait time. So I complained and the new girl moved us into this line. We finally make it across and on the way back I tell the lady that we have already paid for both ways then she makes me give her another $88 dollars!!!! She tells me because we don't have return tickets there is no way to prove we paid and after 8pm it's $4 not $2? Even though we got in line at 7:20 then she pulled my group of 22 and I aside to let smaller groups on. So if my group had split up to get across wed still only pay $44. This is very disorganized. I will never be using this service again. Not worth the stress dealing with all new employees having no idea what to do. Maybe I just have higher expectations being a regular ferry user back home in cape cod getting to the islands. read more

Parking at downtown for free - convenient. Organization at downtown location - organized, someone to let you know where to stand, load onto the boat in order you were waiting. Don't have to wait in traffic. Unfortunately completely different experience leaving the Marina & heading back downtown. No clear "line begins here" marking. People were sitting on white boxes on dock which were in front of the line where people were waiting. A problem waiting to happen - & it was. The boat was supposed to depart at 7:15. We got there at 6:45 to line up. Boat didn't come until 7:45!!! Sign said time could be off by 5 minutes - 30 minutes is not 5 minutes! Finally the boat was pulling in & the problem we predicted would happen did. Rude customers who sat down on the white boxes, who arrived after at least 18 people were waiting in line tried to be the first ones on. When another customer mentioned it to them, they did not take any responsibility, no apology, but continued to push their way into line, & run their mouths. Disgusting. No consideration for the older lady that had been waiting in line before them & was trying to get on the boat. This company is not responsible for the ratchet behaviors of some inconsiderate people, but you should create a system of order to make sure your rule following, decent customers get on the boat based on when they arrive to the dock, & with with a 30 minute extra wait, there should be at least 50% refund. Next time my family will wait in the traffic & drive in. I hope that you fix these things, because the idea behind the ferry is a good one, and like I said the one way was a good experience, such a shame that the other way was such a completely different one! read more

Taxi was nice ride the captain Chris was very focused on his job as there were a lot of other boats in the water. Seemed very safe they didn't offer safety vest but I was ok, you are riding through a pretty large body of water. I'm so glad we took the taxi over there was a accident on the causeway bridge that you would drive on, the entire causeway was closed down a helicopter had to land on it to air lift the accident victim. The water taxi is the best way to go. Parking on the street or in there lot was great. Would definitely recommend I traveled with my husband and 2 teenage boys. read more
