Will update when I hear back. Would not recommend SolarMax at this point until they improve their customer service. Look into other companies and their service reviews since you will most likely have to contact them multiple times with questions about the system/billing. They were very prompt and quick with reaching out and getting back to us when they were trying to sell us solar. However, now that we have been customers for years and our sales rep left, it takes multiple calls to even get through to customer service and then multiple follow up calls after since they have to email other departments to get an answer and do not call back. It seems like they are short staffed and for a big company like this should invest in more staff for customer service. That way they can provide the same experience we received in the beginning. It's been almost a month after I initially contacted them and my question still has not been answered. Seems like there is only one customer service rep and she definitely needs help.

That has not been my experience. What I've seen is a pattern--public replies that look helpful, requests for your information, and then little to no meaningful resolution. It feels more like they're covering themselves on Yelp than actually fixing the problem. I also want to respond directly to the statement that "this does not reflect the level of service we aim to provide." There's a difference between aiming to provide a level of service and actually delivering it. From my experience, that gap is exactly where the problem is. The bigger issue is their policies. They're structured in a way that protects the company, not the customer. So when something goes wrong, you're left paying out of pocket to fix their equipment while still dealing with high electric bills. That defeats the whole purpose of going solar. To be clear, this is not about the front-line staff. The people I've spoken with have been respectful and professional, and I understand they're working within the limits they're given. My inverter from Solaredge went out…read more Semper Solaris installed it and it was still under warranty and I called them numerous times to have it replaced to no avail. Every time I called Semper Solaris I got redirected to buy new products from them. I respect the company that they are veteran owned and I want to support them, but where was my support when I needed them? Dave from Precision Solar heard me out and agreed to help me. He sent his technician out and they ordered the new inverter and it arrived about a week and a half later. Dave's technicians came out and installed the new inverter but for some reason another it just wasn't generating power. So they had to call Solaredge to get it resolved, and this was approximately 1st of July. Every time Dave and his crew called Solaredge they got no answers recordings only, our case under review. Finally on July 13, they finally got the assistance they needed and reprogrammed the inverter and I'm back at generating power. So I was out without Solar for about one month at the hottest time of the year. And Dave and his crew we're outstanding trying to rectify the situation. He kept in constant contact with me. It was Solaredge dragged their feet to get back to him to reprogram the inverter. So, my hats off to Precision Solar! I know I can call Dave and he'll answer, and if he doesn't answer, he gets back to me as soon as he can. I highly recommend this company to anybody who has Solar issues.
