Upon some recommendations by my fellow foodies, I came into Clement and Pekoe to check out the ambiance, and most importantly, the coffee. I ordered a flat white with soy, which wasn't bad, but it was not completely memorable for me. The thing that deterred me most was the lighting inside--definitely personal preference here, though. I was trying to enjoy my book, but the lighting kind of makes the space seem a tad dismal. I also think service here could be a hit or miss because I've heard lovely things, but when I was there, the attitude I received was indifferent and cold. What I did like was that there was a tea section towards the back with a whole wall dedicated to a plethora of tea! Clement and Pekoe is also one of the best places to people watch; they've got a bench right out in front for you to sit and enjoy your cup of coffee. I'd probably hop on the bench the next time I visit; I wish they had more because they fill up so quickly. I can't comment on the pastries and goodies offered, as I didn't get a chance to try any, but I'll have to grab something next time; the photos look delish! read more

A dear friend of mine showed me this amazing place! I am always concerned when I have to drink a coffee outside Italy (Sorry, I am Italian after all and I come from Trieste, where Illy coffee was born! XP), but this time I have to say I was impressed! I went for an almond milk cappuccino, well it's the best I've ever had in my life! If you are scared because of the almond milk don't be, it's way better that the normal one! Go there with you hipster friends, they'll appreciate the place for sure! Also, I tried the apple pie and it was shamazing!! Definitely I'll bring my parents in December! Decided to try this place out when I researched good coffee places in Dublin... Very glad I found it! I came in on a Tuesday which is the day of their scone and coffee combo special for a good price (though I can't remember the amount at this time). Scone choices were plain or fruit/ raisin, and the jam was wonderful! I had a pour over Guatemalan coffee which was so great I didn't need any cream. I then had an Americana to go which was lovely as well. Also loved the bathroom... More specifically the sticker on the hand dryer. This will be the first of many visits! read more

The cappuccino will not disappoint you at all! the matcha...well...ain't bad either (that's all I've tried so far). I like this place a lot. It has this artsy trendy style on the inside and relaxing atmosphere on the outside. The music is always good and even makes me use an app to identify which song it is. My friend and I came here for the first time and had some tasty coffee drinks and baked goods. Unfortunately, we experienced bad service that ruined our afternoon here. After working on our laptops from 2-4 PM (it was a weekday- I know they have a no laptop policy on the weekends), an employee came up to us and said that if we weren't going to buy a second drink we had to leave to make room for afternoon customers (even though most of the seats around us were empty). That same employee got into an audible argument with a coworker, which was uncomfortable for us customers to witness. The WiFi also wasn't working, and when a customer near us asked another employee for help the worker was very rude to the customer. There are definitely many coffee shops in Dublin with much better service and equally as good coffee/food! read more

Smaller cups are just the right size. They also have beautiful design. As for pastries -almond and raspberry is a definite yes! Not a big fan for sitting in, but for take out coffee it's brill. There are also benches just outside to have some fresh air with your coffee. read more

Very comfortable coffee shop with plenty of seating. My latte was good (Coffee Angel was better), but this shop like many other local coffee shops in Dublin has only one size for coffees (with the exception of Coffee Angel, I think). So, if you are looking for a large coffee you will not find one here. I also tried a tiny chocolate tart which was pretty good. I was pretty disappointed with the baked goods at most coffee shops; they did not look appetizing. read more

Tea fans, this is my current top place to go for a nice cuppa of anything you want. Cakies are nice. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I would like to reiterate all the good things everyone else has said about this place but I'd also like to add that the day I went they had just begun stocking kombucha - a sweetened fermented tea. It was like a cross between iced tea and an extremely mild beer - very refreshing. The alcohol content is less than 0.5%. It also wasn't especially sweet, which I personally liked. What's more it's brewed in Stoneybatter, so at €3.50 a bottle you're supporting the (very) local economy. My friend and I sat outside on the sheltered bench and watched the world go by, which on South William Street means a lot of interesting watching. I will be going back to Clement and Pekoe just for the kombucha. read more

Had few cups there, was too watery and not warm. No improvement! Not a good place for a big group neither for reading. Staff were good.

Went on a Saturday afternoon with a friend to get some work done, only to find they don't have wifi on weekends! We found that strange but stuck around anyways. Their food and snacks are good and their chai lattes are pleasant, not the best I've had but not the worst either. The attitude of the manager however and the atmosphere kinda put me off, didn't seem like a cafe to sit down and get work done, more so one to grab a drink and have a chat instead. Would likely come back for that or during the week, but until then I give it 3 stars. read more

I read about Clement and Pekoe on a blog about Dublin's top independent coffee shops. I am a typical coffee house writer, and I'm always searching for good places to work. The staff was really friendly,but as the shop buzzed with late morning conversations, I soon realized it was a place to meet friends, not an atmosphere to work in. I felt very out of place with my computer.; however, the handmade hot chocolate was some of the best I've ever had. I will definitely be back, next time with a human companion instead of a machine. read more

I'm from Melbourne and this place sure does cure the coffee home sick blues. Since landing in Dublin I haven't found a decent a place to have a coffee until now. I read about this place whilst in caffeining it up in M-town and thought it wouldn't hurt to jot down the address just in case I ever came to this end of the planet. Lo and behold, 10 months later, I found myself being comforted by a nice naturally sweet filtered black coffee. It was light and delicate like tea but still packed a punch. read more

No idea why it took me so long to review this place as they serve some of the best coffee in Dublin. From their chai latte to the flat white to the Americano, everything is smooth and flavourful. If you have a sweet tooth, their hot chocolate comes in the form of a block of chocolate on a stick that you slowly stir into your drink until it melts. Much more fun than the powdered hot chocolates they try to serve at some places! They always have a variety of baked treats to go with your coffee and it is a great spot for people watching if you nab a seat outside. read more

I'll add to the accolades - Clement and Pekoe is lovely. It's the best coffee in Dublin 2 and great service. Their coffee is cheaper than most and really tasty. I think it's just €2.50 for a latte. I've only sampled a couple of their baked goods, but what I've had was really nice. Service is great - quick, prompt and friendly despite the crowds. Its actually pretty big but I've only ever gotten my coffee to go. I usually drink it on the steps of Powerscourt Townhouse due to their unmatched people watching. It's always busy so I'm hesitant to even recommend going, but I want them to stay open forever so I'm compelled to share in the love. read more

Pros: Excellent coffee, friendly staff, free wifi, free water, books to peruse while you sit. Cons: Seating is a bit cramped It's very hipster, and perfect to take coffee snob friends. Because of aforementioned cramped seating, it's not ideal an ideal place to linger for a few hours. It's OK for getting work done. I haven't tried the tea or the hot chocolate but I've heard good things about them. 9/10. read more

I love this place! I've been going ever since it opened. As someone that used to make coffee for a living I can get very fussy indeed, but I have never been disappointed with the standard of coffee from here.....perfect every time! The service is friendly and super-efficient and they have a great little extended area through the cafe with picnic style benches decorated with assorted books for your reading pleasure. You have to try a cake!!!! I was there only yesterday and tried one of their paleo walnut and banana cakes, no sugar and totally gorgeous......Also great for a spot of people watching with the lovely benches and steps out front. If you're into coffee, trust me on this and go, you won't regret it! read more
