I often went to the Dame Street location but it's closed within the last year or so. However, though this location is in the touristy Temple Bar neighborhood, I'm thankful it exists. Queen of Tarts (both locations) is by far one of my favorite tea room/bakeries. They carry only the finest sweets and teas. Everything is homemade. They do an excellent brunch as well. The scones have got to be some of the best ever. I've had a lot in my travels and these are grand. The service is always excellent as well. The decor is as charming as it gets. One of my favorite breakfast, lunch, tea, cakes and light bites place. Definitely a touristy spot!! It's always busy, but the seating area is nice, has that Irish tea atmosphere. Friendly service. For breakfast, I loved their vegetarian Irish breakfast that they no longer make, but they do have a traditional Irish breakfast. Only served for breakfast or all day during the weekend. Their pancakes were super delicious (€13). We tried it with honey, syrup, Nutella and banana's. These are served all day and everyday. I also tried their baked beans and kale that came with tomato baked beans and fried kale on bread and topped with fried eggs (€14.5). It was good. Another breakfast item that is served for breakfast or all day on the weekends. Their Caprese sandwich for lunch is addictive and they pair it with a great tasty bread (€11). Their cakes and teas are tasty, I love their chocolate cake. Their coffee, lattes and Mocha are average. But the experience and atmosphere still make them enjoyable. Queen of Tarts is an absolute must when in Dublin (lots of vegetarian-vegan -gluten free options) They have 2 locations one on Cows lane (where I went) and the other on Dame Street. The staff here are just lovely..and the ambiance is so chilled. I highly recommend having the veggie breakfast home cooked beans, sautéed mushrooms, potato cakes, fried eggs roasted tomatoes relish and sourdough toast. Just typing all this is making me wanna go back. My husband and I recently visited this place for breakfast as someone recommended it to us. It was ok, definitely not the best. I am not sure why it was so highly recommended. If you are staying close by and want a decent breakfast, this is a decent option. We walked over a mile from our hotel to get there due to the recommended and it was not worth it. Very cute cafe down a lane off the main road near Christchurch. The service was wonderful and so accommodating- even helping us move to a larger table midway through our meal as our daughter decided to join us for breakfast. I got the porridge and my husband got the pancakes. Our daughter got the eggs with sides and we started with the blueberry scone. All of the food was good- not GREAT- but definitely solid. I waited in line for about 30minutes on a Saturday afternoon for a table for one, which is super surprising because I generally won't wait for anything. I love baking and really wanted to try Queen of Tarts. I didn't have anywhere I had to be so I justified the wait time but it surely wasn't ideal. There was no way I was going to Ireland and not visiting the Queen of tarts. Not only had I read positive reviews about this place, but also saw various youtube videos about Dublin that listed it as a must visit destination. Seating is first come-first serve, the place was packed with people who like us, were also first time visitors to Ireland. We sat next to a lovely family visiting from Malaga and excitedly talked to them about the items on the menu. They have a lot of variety when it comes to baked goods; even vegan options. I have to say that while initially you may not think much about a scone, this was something rather extraordinary for me. The flavor of my raspberry scone was just incredibly delicious, and I love how it came accompanied with a small ramekin of clotted cream, house made preserves and butter. After a busy morning running around the city, there is nothing I look forward to more than a visit to Queen of Tarts in Cows Lane. It is the ideal spot to recharge and relax. Ordered: Soup and sandwich combo (€11): Aubergine, courgette and halloumi sandwich- Stewed aubergine, courgette and onions in tomato sauce are served on focaccia bread with halloumi cheese. This sandwich hit the spot. The cheese was creamy and salty and worked well with the stewed vegetables. The sandwich was served with a mixed green salad. I would definitely order this again! Delicious breakfast! Found this place as it was mentioned in many blogs. There were six of us so seating was a little challenging, but the were able to accommodate by splitting us up. We had the Hearty Irish breakfast, Leek and Potato Cakes w/ poached eggs, and Feta and Sun-dried tomatoes scone w/ eggs. The sausage had good flavor. The egg in the hearty breakfast came over easy and was cooked a little more than I like, but it still had a little runny to it. I purchased two scones to go. We ate them later as a quick snack. Oh so tasty! My first time I had the savory tart which was basically a quiche and one of the best I have ever had! The vegetable soup was mediocre. The raspberry scone was very good, the ham with it was incredible. I returned a second time and was too early for the savory tart unfortunately, so I got some eggs and a savory scone and they were good. I got a cake, but it was clearly leftover from the day before and was kinda soggy and sad and tasted it. I think they are better off discarding the few pieces of old stuff to use the new and have better customer experience. I think if I had had the fresh cake it would have been really good. read more

Queen of Tarts on Cow's Lane is so cute and wonderful. I think there may be another nearby, but I am not positive. This one has a red storefront with some tables outside and inside. Inside there are rows and rows and pastries from which to pick. They have a lemon tart that is so good, you will hurt someone who tries to take too many bites. You can eat inside or out. Inside is so cute. They sell lunch items, cups and all sorts of cute gifts. We did not have lunch, so I will stick to the pastries and coffee and tea. Finding a great cup of coffee in Ireland can be a challenge, unless you want to go to some chain. I do not. The coffee at Queen of Tarts is so great, it is beyond addicting. It is rich and dark and if you want real cream in your coffee, they have that for you. We also love their tea. I just love tea cups and there is nothing better than a great cup of tea in a lovely teacup. They have that at Queen of Tarts. As a matter of fact, all of their cups and dishes are just wonderful to eat from. It makes you feel you are at someone's home and they are treating you to the best of all they have made. The pastries are some of the best you will ever have. The lemon tart is perfect, just perfect and they have a fudge cake that will melt in your mouth. Their scones are the best. I wish I could have gone back again and again so I could tell you of all their wonders, but I would be the size of a small house. The clotted cream and berry jam is so good.
