The locals told us that, aside from the annual Cranberry Festival, picking your own blueberries is a South Jersey tradition you simply have to experience. After seeing Haines Berry Farm recommended in a local Facebook group, we decided to give it a try, and we're so glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming. We hopped on the tractor ride out to the fields, where they provided us with hanging buckets to collect our berries. The tractor driver even pointed out which rows had the sweetest blueberries and which ones were a little more tart, so we picked a mix of both. It turned into a wonderful family outing filled with laughter, fresh air, and some of the best blueberries we've ever tasted. The best part came after we got home. To my surprise, my wife immediately baked a homemade blueberry pie with our fresh-picked berries. Served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it was absolutely delicious! If you're looking for a fun family activity and an authentic South Jersey experience, Haines Berry Farm is definitely worth the visit. We'll be back next harvest season!

This place is no doubt a little bit of a hike from the city, but it's totally worth the time and effort it takes to come out here. The whole farm is absolutely beautiful and very well organized for pick your own vegetables. It was so nice to be able to be in the fields and being one with nature and picking your own vegetables and learning so much about the bounty of Earth. Everything that we picked here tasted so amazing and fresh. We also met the owner David, who was so kind and I loved chatting with him and learning more about the farm and when the other fruits and vegetables are going to to be ripe for picking. Strawberry season is open from Memorial Day weekend to Father's Day weekend. Went for the June 13, 2026 end of season strawberries and most berries were over ripe or dried up. Come earlier. We still were able to pick some, but it was all tiny tiny strawberries. They were still tasty, so we enjoyed. All strawberries are $5.59 per pound. You can bring your own basket/container or get a free biodegradable paper bucket for picking. We got two quarts which weighed at $15. No fee to enter the field and pick. No bathrooms on premises so be warned. Would return earlier in the season!

Our kids had an absolute blast picking fresh strawberries, meeting the animals, and riding on the tractor, which ended up being one of the highlights of the day! Earlier this week I went blueberry picking here. This year their crop was not as fruitful due to…read moreweather and other setbacks, but | was still able to pick almost 3 pounds and my MIL 4 pounds. The price is still $2.80 per pound. The farm will be open until the berries run out this season so if you plan on going I wouldn't wait. There is plenty of parking and they give you buckets to put the berries in as you pick them. This is a family run farm and the few people I saw working that day were very polite. Hope to get back there next year.

So we've seen the pricing increase over the years, but it's still worth it for wholesome family fun. We usually visit once per season and this visit was for u pick strawberries. It was the perfect day for it as the weather was very pleasant-70's, partly sunny, no rain, with a slight breeze. The hayride felt bumpier than usual, but the kids loved it and didn't notice, which is most important. Afterward, we enjoyed some farm fresh ice cream while sitting on a bench and people watching. We'll be back for u pick blueberries next month hopefully, pumpkins, apples, and apple cider donuts in the fall.
