"We are a real working farm; we have activities that I used to do when I was a child. This is not…read morea fall festival." This above statement couldn't be any more factual. This place is a REAL farm, operating since 1860, and is simply magical. You will find only the most wonderfully friendly staff, the most sincere pumpkin patch that Linus would be proud of, and a memorable day outside in the beauty of nature and what makes farm life, farm life. For $5 per person, you are covered for a hay ride to and from the pumpkin patch. A REAL pumpkin patch; not just pumpkin purchased and thrown in a field with straw. Like, maybe bring a small knife to cut these babies free to take home with you! The ride around was super cute with how they decorated the property (I won't completely spoil it for you!) and allowed you to take in the little changes in fall foliage peeking out. For $8 per person, you get access to pick your own flowers for $1 per sunflower and $0.50 per other flower variations, as well as a corn pit, tractor tire tower, obstacle course, basketball hoops, slides, and more. Our 4 year old absolutely had a BALL in the corn kernel pit and the slides really tested his bravery. You could tell the vibe was less about posing for the most perfect photo and more about just being together with family and friends. The two food trucks on location had responsibly prices pork rolls, hot dogs, apple cider donuts and drinks, whereas if you wanted to splurge and be a foodie, they had a BBQ food truck as well. Again, wonderfully friendly staff and the hot dogs have been approved by my toddler. Cash is much appreciated here, even though they do accept credit cards. This is OUR farm now and I can't wait to come back before the end of the season!

The kids had a blast with all the activities, there was bowling, basketball, 3 corn mazes, a few playgrounds for the kids to climb on and a bunch of corn pits. Make sure to check out the pumpkin patch and pick a pumpkin, the ride is so nice and it's great to go to a patch where you can pick it off the vine. Pro tip- Get the apple cider donuts early the line can get long Pro tip- bring lawn chairs and extra snacks for the brewery next door

From start to finish it was such a fun adventure! You're able to grab a bucket and literally walk the endless rows of beautiful tulips and pick as many as you'd like to your hearts desire. I had no idea there were so many different types of tulips. My bf and I really enjoyed learning this and also learning how to properly "pick" a tulip in order to transport them home without there being any wilting or withering. The weather actually made the experience that much more memorable in my opinion and provided quite a beautiful back drop given the contrasting colors to the grey and white sky. There were a nice selection of food trucks there as well so we grabbed empanadas and lemonade before round two of picking flowers and admiring mother natures beauty. Once we got the tulips home we followed instructions on how to properly clip and keep them watered and within minutes the tulips began to blossom :) The two vases we filled brightened our space and made us begin to plan our next visit ... with a plan on how we'd be more strategic in picking groups of colors and different heights lol. Highly recommend visiting them!

Hallock's was such a hit! I'm honestly sad to say I've lived in Jersey my entire life and never…read moreeven knew this place existed. We went on a Tuesday morning, and from the moment we pulled in, it was a great experience. When you arrive, they ask how many bags you want, give you big plastic bags, and then you're off to pick your own produce. We decided to pick collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, sweet potatoes, and a few peppers. Some items were out of season, so we bought those inside the market instead. Inside, we grabbed garlic, tomatoes, scallions, apples, onions, and a bottle of peach cider which I highly recommend! Everything was fresh and flavorful. The workers were all friendly, helpful, and welcoming. You can drive around the farm, park your car to the side, and pick whatever you need. When you're done, you stop at the booth, unload your items to be weighed, and pay there. They accept both cash and all major credit cards. A few tips: wear old clothes and shoes, and definitely don't get your car washed before going because everything gets dusty! I also saw a few people using scissors or knives to cut their vegetables, which is a smart idea, though we picked ours by hand. After getting home, cleaning everything, and cooking up the greens for dinner, I have to say they were the best greens I've ever had in my life. Farm-to-table food truly hits different. The prices were very fair and much cheaper than the supermarket & the quality was unbeatable. I highly recommend visiting this farm for some fresh, nutritious produce to feed your family.

It's strawberry season!! Don't miss this short window of strawberry picking at Battleview Orchards!…read moreIf you aren't interested in going on the actual farm, you can enjoy their amazing country store and bakery and purchase the freshest, most beautiful and delicious strawberries. I also grabbed a few strawberry treats as well while I was there. All year round, Battleview has different picking seasons, so check their website for more info to see what's running. They consistently have amazingly fresh produce and if you love corn, you can't beat it. Also for sale in the country store are plenty of other fresh fruits and veggies, sauces and dressings, dips, and lots of candy too! Apple picking time is also very popular! Their pricing is also very fair for what you're getting. It's always nice to support local farms. They had a tough year already with the devastating crop damage from the freeze this past April.

It was $4.49 per pound. $5 entry fee that is applied towards whatever you pick. The staff are really friendly and laughed as I tried to guess everyone's weight for the berries they picked. I'm going to make it an annual tradition. There are ample parking spots for Friday around 11AM. The little store up the road was also filled so many jams, spreads, and strawberry treats.
