Hidden treasure for sure! Been there many times and do not leave disappointed or like I overpaid for subpar meal.

If you would like to be seated on the weekends with zero wait time, you need to arrive no later than 9:30am as this place is packed all the time! I finally had the opportunity to check it out a few weeks ago! Clementine is located in the basement so you have to go down a flight of stairs to make it in. I don't recall seeing any alternative ways of getting in so just keep that in mind especially for those with mobility impairments. The first thing I noticed when I arrived was that the place was filled with Millennials. The menu itself is limited and only has a few selections. Each of the items on the menu is filled with a combination of unique ingredients. It is quite different from your typical breakfast/brunch places, which I appreciate very much! You honestly need to get out your comfort zone to give anything a try because you might find 1 or 2 ingredients that you may not enjoy on each of the items. I had the Smoked Arctic Char. It was served with crispy potato cake, créme fraîche, horseradish and cured dill cucumbers. I enjoyed the presentation. However, the portion size was tiny for what it was worth and the food was alright. Overall, it is worth the experience to check it out and I am glad that I did but I'll need an incentive to come back in the future. read more

My girl friend had the Braised Bacon Benedict; their bacon is thick, non grease and barely any fat , just pure goodness ! I had taste. And maaann I will be ordering that next time! In Winnipeg for work and saw this place on Yelp, thought it looked interesting; Wow! Was I in for a surprise! It may have been the best breakfast of my life! Turkish eggs and maple bacon; sounds almost routine - not at all. Perfectly poached eggs, with flavourful seasoning on a bed of humus! Unusual, unexpected but amazing! Thick, toasted sourdough bread to dip up all the yolk and humus. The "bacon" was more like two pork chops and succulent doesn't begin to describe the taste! I start of with a 5 star review at every restaurant. The wait was long but that is expected at all restaurants so no point off. The Caesar drinks are good. Nothing amazing but good. I got the waffle and the Brussels. I was a bit disappointed in their food. The waffle was nothing spectacular. It was a waffle. Topped with cheese cake flavored whip cream. I love Brussel sprouts. So I ordered a side dish. They started off great until the spicy sauce overpowered all the other flavors. My mouth was burning the rest of the time. I did not enjoy them at all. Once the spice kicks in you can't taste the rest of the meal. My girlfriend got the chia pudding. That was the best of all dishes. If I had a do over that's all I would recommend here. Finally I got a mimosa. I don't like a lot of juice so I asked for the juice on the side. Well they bring you half a glass of champagne. Ok they said it's $2 more for a full glass. Have been 4 times now and have had 4 really enjoyable experiences ! The once tepid lattes (first visit only and joyfully replaced) have become hot - perhaps a response to the upcoming winter and the staff are consistently friendly and knowledgable. Don't let the "hipster" vybe fool you. This place is a keeper , far beyond trends and hype the chef and staff seem to really love food and enjoy and respect the customers who are supporting them. Both the interior and food seem to be created with a nod to comfort and delight. The rhubarb compote is maybe the best I've had and the Turkish eggs are a must try. There is a tuna salad that's well ya a tuna salad but so full of flavour and seared goodness that it's become a lunchtime favourite. Like most places that do a good job this gem is busy but worth the wait. If you can sneak away for a midweek breakfast the wait is shorter. Every single thing is high quality and delicious. Coffee, juice, and the food is the best I've ever had for breakfast!!

Didn't even get in the door. Called ahead of time to see if reservations needed. Person on the phone says no not a problem to walk in as its not busy at all today. I ask what time they close. States 2 pm and if we get there 1:30 or after we will not be turned away. Well we get there at 1:40 pm and they say they are closed because they were busy and had no more ingredients leftover. My biggest reason for the 1 star rating is poor communication could have just saved us a trip if they were honest. I am sure food is great. But they can hang this 1 star rating high.
