I felt compelled to write this review about Tom's Towers Flowers if you were considering them as…read moreyour wedding florist. This is mostly in regard to Jan the owner and not Tom, employees or the quality of flowers itself. It's about business ethics and customer care. My wedding is on 10/5/2025. I hired Towers Flowers two months ago because they had this beautiful arch I liked at the Bridal Expo. After a 25 min consultation meeting with Jan, I got upsold bouquets/sweetheart table runner as well. The center pieces were $250 for low and $350 for high which were quite expensive compared to some other florists. But I wanted to give them money since they were letting me rent the arch. I paid them in full which was a huge mistake. When I read over the original invoice again this week, I noticed there was one flower I'd like to add so I called Jan. Immediately her tune switched from our initial consultation. She refused to add the light blue flower or change anything on the invoice. She condescendingly said that she knows way more than me due to her experience and what flowers would wilt in bouquets. I felt off and decided to drive to the store to cancel the bouquets/sweetheart table runner. The first thing that came out of Jan's mouth was "why did you waste my time? Were you even looking for flowers?" Her other employee heard her and were shocked. I told her that I just want a refund of the flowers and that I'd keep the arch. And she said that she can't cancel the order now, and that she as the owner didn't have the authority to write a refund check back to me. Kim the bookkeeper who can write the check already left 15 mins ago. I knew that was a lie so I kept pressing on about why she as the owner can't write a refund check if we as customers can change the order 21 days before the wedding date. In the end she mended the contract, wrote a refund check but added a hidden fee I wasn't aware of. I went home and noticed she added a "consultation fee" of $100 even though the website said FREE consultation. Immediately I felt that Jan would screw me over on my wedding day and purposely delay the arch delivery (as previous reviews have mentioned). Before we left the store, Jan mockingly commented"next time don't pay in full" and I said "I won't" and she slyly said "I hope there won't be a next time with you." I could not sleep well that night knowing they were responsible for one of the biggest decoration parts of my ceremony. I decided to go back again for the third time (3 hours round trip). I called Jan that morning before I went and she was again very rude. She said that her still selling me the arch after cancelling the bouquets order was her doing me a favor. That just delivering the arch without other flowers was a huge inconvenience to them. Even though I was charged $600 + $250 delivery fee + taxes/fees which totaled to $1,000+ for this and my venue was just 40 mins away from them. She said if I wanted to cancel fully now I'd have to be charged another cancellation fee. I brought up the $100 consultation fee on my mended bill that was charged without my knowledge the day before. And she said that I wasted her time and that's me paying for her time. She only sat down with me for 25 mins for one consultation to type up an invoice. I thought that was her job. All I've gotten was grief after hiring them. I can't imagine how awful they would've been on my wedding day. Thankfully, Tom the other owner who was there when I went back agreed to refund me fully in the end. He also overheard Jan's rude comments to me and said she must've had an off day. I don't think anyone should have to backpedal for a floral consultant who is also the owner. Due to Jan's immoral business practices and hidden fees, I do not recommend Tom's Towers Flowers.
