(2) I've had top stylists do my hair and this is the first time, ever, my husband of 30 years remarked on my hair ("Your hair looks 'natural,' it doesn't even look colored" - note he was raised to never say anything about a woman's hair (or weight ;-). FYI - Lindsey does a blond foil, with depth, on my dark brown, shoulder length hair. I also love the cut and the versatile bangs she creates. Why she's so good: besides having natural talent, she continually educates herself and often travels out of state for innovative classes in this industry. You don't find many hairstylists with such initiative, either. I see her owning her own salon. She may be hard to get an appointment with, but she's very much worth it.

So, when came time for WEDDING HAIR, i became...umm VERY PARTICULAR and a little nervous about my vendor choices. i remembered that Jane had been dabbling in hair and makeup for fashion shoots and the like, so I inquired whether she did wedding hair at all. i decided to ask jane because as 1)Jane is pretty much up to date on all things wedding as a wedding photograher 2)jane has a fantastic eye and sense of style 3)Jane pretty much rocks. Cue viajane,which was where Jane referred me so i could view her portfolio. looking at the body of work Jane had done, my fears of choosing friendship over good stylist totally became irrelevant. so we have a trial run and she is, like all my other vendors, prompt, professional and personable. She has a calm energy and attentive. She had me send her some looks and when we settled on the final hair style i wanted, she went to work right away to create the look on me. She really got it down and it was amazing. day of wedding, again, prompt, friendly, professional, attentive. When my sister (aka becca lee-the maid of honor) had a bad run in with a different, non Viajane affiliated hair stylist who, in becca's words "made her look like an eff'n mushroom top" Jane came to the rescue and fixed it into something gorgeous. jane did this out of the goodness of her heart. i had booked Jane just for me because of timeline/schedule concerns. Jane also ended up doing the hair of one of the bridesmaid's who coudln't sort out just how to do her hair into something extra special for the day. Jane, again was really gracious and made my friend feel at easy, reassuring her, because said friend felt super bad about asking for Jane's help. Seriously, Jane was more than happy to accomodate. So friendly and clearly, two cases of going over and beyond. i can't thank Jane enough for helping me and my girls look beautiful. the hair she gave me lasted all through the wedding festivities and would have stayed put for much longers than the night-but i didn't test for how long because post midnight, the bobby pins had to go-along with all other wedding attire from my persons-it was a long day in spanx and fake lashes. I REALLY wanted to like this place but unfortunately I won't be going back…read more The location: Easy to find, easy parking and cute little boutique. I had high expectations when I walked in! I sat in the waiting room for a few minutes and when the owner came back it was the most awkward greeting ever. Not very friendly and very informal. We walked back to the room and she asked me to lay on the bed. No questions were asked about what kind of look I wanted, how long I wanted to the lashes etc. Every time I have ever gone in for extensions I have always had a 3-5 minute consultation and the employees always made sure to discuss the right look for me. I went ahead and just followed along. (My mistake). When I was finished, the lashes were incredibly long (I had asked by myself to look more natural) and they did not taper down as you got closer to the increase of my eye. I thought I looked way to glam for what I had asked and it did not follow the shape of my eye at all. As for the aftermath.... All my friends and family knew I had extensions the minute they saw me. When I have had them in the past people would notice something special about the eyes but never knew I had lashed until I told them. These just looked way to fake for my shape of eye. At all establishments I have been to before, the lashes ALWAYS lasted 3-4 weeks on my eyes. It has been 1/5 weeks and every single lash has fallen off of my right eye and I only have half left on my left eye. Not to mention that when I have been looking at the ones that fall out...they have 2-3 of my real lashes attached to them. Every lash specialist I have ever been to says that should never happen. Finally when I got home my eye was really irritated in the corner. I got close to the mirror and realized some of my bottom lashes were glued up into the extension on the top. The only solution was to pluck my bottom lash. PAINFUL! All in all, I am sad this place wasn't what I expected but I am now going to a different place tomorrow to get the few that remain removed and receiving a whole new full set....1.5 weeks later... Could have been an off day, but I wasn't impressed. :-/
