Then recently my backing of my earrings kept falling out so I went to my personal jeweler back home and he told me it was actually SI diamonds. He personally showed me all the imperfections (clouds) in my diamond - SO MANY FLAWS, it was so embarrassing. The lady first came and looked several times before getting her husband he unlocked the door let me come in the front locked me in between both doors then yelled asking what do I want! I will never come here a second time, because this store is a scammer. I bought a 9999 gold two years ago for $2600 when the gold price was $1790/oz, today I went to sell this 9999 gold, they said this was $2100 while the gold price was $2069/oz. I did not accept and switched to Ngoc Tri store, and Ngoc Tri store bought it for $2,370. So I bought this piece of gold at a very high price before at Kim Ngoc. If I resell it at Kim Ngoc, I will lose more money. read more

I arrived asking for battery replacement for my watches. I had six watches and the owner wanted me to pay him 60 dollars for six batteries and labor. This is a total ripoff. When I refused and offered him 40 dollars he got upset and asked me to leave. I went to batteries & bulbs and they did the same work including batteries for 25 dollars. There's another review here for this place in which someone was pleasantly surprised at the fact that - let's just say it - they did not experience racism even though they were shopping at a jewelry store with Asian owners and they are not Asian. This is completely legit because racism is definitely a dynamic that I consider as a Black customer in America. That review made a difference, especially with complaints of racist experiences at other stores. So I drove all the way from Factoria to the ID during rush hour, looking to buy a special gold necklace. I go up to the door. It's locked. Typical for some jewelry stores to be locked initially, and let in their customers by buzzer or just come to the door. There's a saleswoman behind the counter and a customer that she's helping. The customer points to the door to let her know that I'm there so that she can let me in. Instead, she shakes her head and signs a big 'X' with her arms, yelling CLOSED. This is literally the exact experience that I read another Black customer leave for another jewelry store (which made me decide to choose this one instead - only to have the same thing happen.) It's Monday, June 11, at 4:00pm. The sign on the store and the hours posted online say that there's open until 6:00pm. And there's the fact that I can visibly see that it's open. Even her customer was surprised when she yelled to me that she was closed. I guess they should have clarified that it's only closed if you're Black. read more

I've had some unfortunate experiences when purchasing jewelry from Asian jewelry shops for the simple fact that I don't look Asian, so they think I don't know my stuff. Oh how very wrong they are. I've purchased from Kim-Ngoc 3 or 4 times now throughout the years. They seem to have the best prices. That, or they don't lie to you like their neighbors.I will continue to purchase from Kim-Ngoc. I always find what I'm looking for and I never feel ripped off after leaving. You have to be careful when dealing with places like these, but I pretty much trust Kim-Ngoc at this place. Came here to get my lucky Buddha necklace fixed because I pulled too hard and the necklace broke off. I came in with my mom and she told the guy the necklace broke and if he could fix it. He said he could. He even cleaned it, since it got dirty while trying to mold the necklace together. They have a nice selection of jewelry here-from jade to silver and gold. This place does repair jewelry at a great cost and they are professionals at what they do. I would recommend coming here if you need something fixed or to buy something. read more

I was able to get my engagement ring sized down two sizes the same day. It took about 1 hour and was about $45. It was my fiancé's mother's ring and has baguettes on the side and later one of the baguettes fell out. Luckily, I was sitting at a table and found it, but they reset it and tightened all the settings for free! I called ahead of time to make sure the "7 day" bangles would be available in larger sizes, was told they had lots of sizes. I get there and was buzzed in. The woman had a few customers so I said should I wait near the seats, her reply was "what did you need" I said oh sorry I didn't want to talk over your existing customers, she snapped "what do you need?" I've been looking everywhere for a jewelry place that can cut a jade stone bracelet / bangle. You see, my wife's jade stone bracelet has been hurting her for quite some time. She had it for 14 years or so and it was time to finally cut it. I called in and got a quote from the gentleman for $10. When I came in a few days later, I got hustled by the Vietnamese lady for $15 even though I told her I got a quote for $10. The gentleman took a careful look on my wife's wrist to see if it was possible to pull it off (we've tried it, but there was no way) and we had no choice but to cut it. The gentleman took great care of holding the bracelet and was very steady with his hands. He assured my scaredy-cat wife that everything is going to be alright and to look away because the stone cutting process was getting a bit dusty in the air. After a few minutes of cutting on both side, he used a special tool and broke it apart! Her jade bracelet that she had for 14 years finally came off and her wrist is finally free and healing! In all, it was a $15 dollar well spent. The Vietnamese hustler lady was willing to offer free services if there was a way to pull it off, but hey if you need a jade bracelet off and you've tried the youtube pulling technique and it doesn't work, let the professional gentleman take care of you! read more

They had a ton of chains with different sizes and designs which made it super easy to see which I liked. It's the only shop I've come across that has that much inventory in the store. They charge less than half what almost every other place around Seattle charges to resize a ring, and even better - they do it while you wait. I brought two rings in and waited just fifteen or twenty minutes before they handed my rings back perfectly resized, clearly done with high quality craftsmanship. I bought a 24k gold necklace from this place and they told me if anything break then just bring it back and they will fix it that is what they're policy is or whatever. Just so happens that the connected part of the necklace broke on one side. I brought it back and asked them to fix it and what they did was replaced it with a new necklace connector which was NOT what I wanted at all and on top of that THEY WOULDN'T give me back the one I had brought in, which was 24k gold. Instead they gave me a different one that is probably a 16k or 18k gold. I knew it was a not the one that is mine so I repeatedly asked for mine back to take it else where to get it fixed BUT THEY WOULD NOT GIVE IT BACK TO ME.
