If you go to one building for services, literally each room you go into is somehow a different corporate entity. You'll get a different bill from each different corporate entity. They make even the most straightforward service unreasonably complicated. You will still be receiving bills from them a year after your visit. Even though your insurer provides you the exact amount you owe, it will never align with any of the CC bills because CC applies any payment to any bill in any amount and any billing date they want. You make a $50 co-pay at the time of one visit but CC spreads it across five different visits in random amounts- $1.83 here, $2.56 there, $14.85 to another one. Avoid obtaining services from CC at all costs. The level of care you receive won't ever be worth it. Akron General used to be great. Corporate greed got the best of them. CC is the worst. read more

Furthermore, outsourcing billing to aggressive agencies like DCM unnecessarily inflates administrative expenses, which Cleveland Clinic passes onto other patients, driving up healthcare costs for everyone. The absolute most unprofessional icu I've ever been to. They kept giving me the wrong the dosage of medication for a medicine. It could of killed me. They have no sanitation in the room.. you must use a bedside commode and they bag the shit and put it in a trash can .you can smell it and it's very unsanitary for an icu. Then I leave and call for the surgeon and now they won't tell me anything because I am no longer under their care. I was going to get the heart surgery in Cleveland but if it's anything like this..I won't use a Cleveland clinic...no thanks...they did not help me so if I die it's on them.​ read more

They had all of the results. But they kept me there for hours on end. They put an IV in the wrong area. They handed me drip.Drop drinks for election night solution.Even though they knew that I was on pedialyte advance care. The nurses the doctors and the physician assistants don't talk to each other. The nurse that I had was loud and was talking and everything. And the physician assistant said that he would give me iv fluids and then decided against it.And gave me stuff that I could get from the store.But I refused to, because it has aspirine in it which causes me, they have migraine headaches. So I threw this stuff in the trash and the nurse told me.There's no need to throw a temper tantrum.And I said I wasn't. Then, when I took the I v the plastic off the IV it literally popped out, and I have a bump from the pushing an I. V. In and then sitting and pushing the the thing down, and I kept on telling it, hurt it hurt. And he told me to shut up. And that I will not be there long. Is that when the I v popped out?The nurse told me yet again. There's no need to throw a temper tantrum. I said I did not, it just came out. And I was frustrated because it was in an area That was basically bad. I haven't when I told the nurse at university hospital. Because she saw the bump and I said, yeah, they blew that vein. She said, I'm not commenting on it. But I can say, yes, they did blow the vein, because the way the bump was, and that's not normal. For an I v to have happen. The reason why I say they don't communicate with each other is because it's the truth. I asked if it was okay if I took my scheduled pain medicine. And nay asked the doctor the doctor doctor said yes. But clearly the doctor did not write down that I had my pain medicine at the time and when I told them that I had it the physician assistant who I call the pretend physician assistant.Got mad at me, but I had to stop them from overdosing me because they've done that to me.Multiple times when I was admitted to that stupid hospital. Like when I had COVID, for example, the nurse told me that I had take Tylenol. Well, the other nurse was refusing to give me pain medicine unless I took the Tylenol and I wound up sicker than a dog. Because I was oded on tylenol, they were more concerned about giving me tylenol than my actual pain medicine, and I had a call the head of nursing and tell them to get these old ladies out of my William, because I was basically being told that I was not allowed to have my schedule the pain medicine unless I took Tylenol. And if you take tile knoll, too many times in a short amount of time it can cause you to be sick. And I told them, i'm allowed to deny tylenol, because I don't need it. When they got the boot, the nurses would come in and act like they would get in trouble. If they were in my room, because I told nursing supervisor of what they did. And how they refused to allow me to have my scheduled pain. Medicine without them forcing me to take town. All and they told me if I refused to take the town all that they would refuse to give me my pain medicine. Which is against patient care? And they got in trouble for refusing to treat a patient correctly. Of course. I could have took the pain medicine and looked at it at them and said, oh, i'm overdosed, because you guys didn't check with the doctor to make sure that my meds were not taken. My cousin told me the next time that they do that to just take the medication. And then let them know afterwards that they overdosed you. But now I would rather them realize that nobody talks to each other Because if they were to talk to each other, they would have realized that my pain medicine was already taken.So if you want doctors who don't care and physician assistants who treat you badly and nurses who treat badly come to this hospital.But go somewhere else where they actually do the protocol that needed to be done for my self.Because i've had blood clots while on blood thinning medication. My doctor ordered a Stat MRI and told me I could have it done here. When I arrived I called to see if they had valet because I couldn't walk far. Lady wasn't very nice but I at least didn't have to walk. In triage I was met with this nurse speaking loudly using profanity about a patient who was getting on her nerves. The woman was known to have mental illness and I couldn't believe how this nurse was talking about her. My nurse wasn't bad but informed me that it didn't matter what my doctor ordered, the ER would decide what tests I'd get. I was wheeled out to the waiting room where people in pain go to die. I waited as long as I could (a few hours) then decided I'd come back the next day. I told the two witches of Eastwick at the front counter I was going to go, went around the corner to the valet guy. I smile and give him a hello and he continues reading whatever BS a hospital valet guy reads. I told him the level of customer service at that hospital was OUTSTANDING! I told my pcp what the triage nurse said then I spoke with my insurance rep. She did a 3 way call to schedule the MRI for me. When she asked the hospital scheduling person why I couldn't schedule a Stat MRI she said when it's a Medicaid person it automatically gets pushed out ten days. This team of MD's is most likely the worst I have ever experienced. The residents especially. They fumble about and are led by a goofball who has no courage to stand up to anything besides gravity. The nursing staff harms patients and has the worst patient care imaginable. My cousin sat in his own fecal matter with C. Diff for 3.5 hours. When I asked the resident or the nurse to change him or get somebody who could, the resident said, "Why clean if you are just going to soil the bed again?" I was outraged and cleaned up my cousin myself. The resident started IV vancomycin instead of PO. He was hard of hearing, and his chart was not accurate to the story my cousin provided, which was basically improper documentation. AFTER BEING SEVERELY ILL AND ALREADY HAVING A LOAD OF TESTS DONE AND BEING PUT BACK OUT IN THE WAITING ROOM I WENT TO THE FRONT DESK LADY AND SAID THAT I AM GOING TO GO TO THE MONTROSE CLEVELAND CLINIC LOCATION BECAUSE I KNOW THAT THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO TREAT ME SOONER. SHE SAID "THEY WILL HAVE TO DO ALL THE TESTS ALL OVER AGAIN". I ASKED HER WHY WOULD THEY HAVE TO DO THAT SINCE IT WOULD ALREADY BE IN THEIR SYSTEM. This is the worst hospital you could ever go to.Nobody communicates with anybody. I was offered a pain medicine that I already took earlier while I was there. The nurses were rude. The doctors were non existent and the physician.Assistant could care less about the quality of care that they gave you. Akron General Lab downtown: DO NOT come as a walk in, especially on a Monday! Waited almost 2 hours! Plus the expensive parking. It's my understanding they were short handed because someone was out with injuries. Which means management knew about the shortage. Finally, when a phlebotomist named Omar was called in, things started moving quickly. Why wasn't he called in earlier? But I would also like to commend Bibi (? sorry I misplaced ur card). I understand there are staffing issues all around. I genuinely do . But, when you go to the ER looking for care , 7+ hours in the waiting room... is an unacceptable amount of time . I had vitals, x-rays, and bloodwork . That's all. I could hardly walk by the time we left because of pain in my abdomen. Sitting and waiting to get SOME kind of care and being able to hear what other people were coming in for (because there is zero privacy to state what you need to be seen for), people were being taken back ahead of more serious needs. At the 6 1/2 hour mark of waiting a lady came in with literally the identical symptoms that I had. She sat in the waiting room for maybe 35 minutes, the door opened and they called her back to go to a room. My husband was fuming at the point. Knowing I was getting worse as the time went by. So many people left going to another hospital. The bathrooms in the waiting room were deplorable. When I got called back for re-vitals (yes 3 times bloodwork as well. Had 4 sticks because one was a miss), I would use the restroom in the back. At the very end of our 7+ hour wait... the final straw was when someone came in with a large pit bull on a leash. (Yes I am an animal lover... the dog didn't bother me... but seriously someone could have a major allergy), no service dog vest, or signage on the dog. He was well behaved, but seriously? Scraping the bottom of the barrel for doctors. Every time I get a chest cold they want me to get an unnecessary chest x-ray. I also have a slipped disc in my thoracic spine from a bad uber rear ended accident that this doctor would correlate with the accident, but by the time I went to court the doctor changed his mind and would not correlate. My attorney said Cleveland clinic does not like their doctors to go to court and so I got screwed for a lifelong permanent injury. Now my thumbs are turned inward and I'm losing strength and coordination on both hands, my balance is getting worse, and my bowels are not moving right. read more

Imy fiance was brought to the emergency room where I was with her the entire day.later that day she had a breathing tube installed and was moved to the i.c.u. I was no longer allowed any contact with her because I'm not considered immediate family and not legally married yet. Four days later I still cannot even call because the hospital nurse in the ER had her listed as confidential therefore telling the hospital operator to tell a yone that tried to call her that she was.not a patient there.she doesn't have her phone, her eyeglasses,house keys, clothes nor shoes or purse. Nothing at all but nobody can do anything because we're all. Locked out and still being lied too. She has to feel abandoned and I can't do anything to help her or at least get her her phone and eyeglasses. It's in humane and wrong and I feel I'm being treated like a terrorist. If I could give Akron General Hospital/Cleveland Clinic less than 1 star...I would. My 90 year old mother was admitted thru ER on Sept. 10, 2022. The wait for a room was long and they complained of being short staffed. The nurses were exhausted and understandably grumpy. Once mom was placed in a room, she was never given meal menus to select meals that fit her dietary needs. When asked, we were told that a "new company" now serves the hospital, and they do not supply the hospital with enough menus tp go around.. So she was given whatever meals the "kitchen staff" chose to bring her. For breakfast, she was given green beans, unflavored chicken and mashed potatoes. Who eats THAT for breakfast??? My mom has a history of falling and was listed as a "Fall Risk". She wore a bright yellow wristband stating this. So when my mother asked a nurse if she could help her to the restroom and to wash up, the nurse responded that they were very short staffed and that she had to "do it herself", putting her at risk for falling. My mother just layed there. When checking my mom out of the hospital, I approached the nurse and told her how unfit and unprofessional she was to treat a patient as she did my mom. She apologized profusely for her behavior. Akron General Hospital's high standards and quality of service has taken a huge decline. Akron General has NO business carrying the respected name of the Cleveland Clinic, and I certainly do not wish to return for any member of my family. read more

This ER has become a nightmare. A year ago I waited 4 hrs in horrible pain...ended up going to Medina Hospital where I was seen in 20 minutes...Thank goodness because I had a blood clot. This week my mother in law sat in there for 9 hrs. She has cancer and pnuemonia and purple fingers. The did some testing and then nothing...never saw a dr. She felt so sick they finally gave up and went home. Going to a different ER today. Won't ever go back there and will let everyone know what pit that place has become. This facility does not even remotely deserve one star. imagine going to the ER for acute abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting only to sit in the lobby for 4 hours. We asked the triage nurse why we have not yet been seen. She stated, "there are other more acute cases infront of you." I'd love to know how you can even know if my case is acute when I have not even been assessed. The only metric the nurse has obtained was my blood pressure. The truth is I would not even take my dog to this facility. The overwhelming lack of education and protect in the nursing staff as well as the drs., was profound. I would know, after teaching medicine for 30 years. Our main dr was not even able to pronounce multiple medical terms correctly. This facility is great if you are looking for a place to die. Unfortunately if you want to live to fight another day, please don't step foot on this campus. If you're having a true emergency this is the place to go. You will be treated quickly as I've used them twice in the past 3 years and both times was seen within minutes and put in a ER bed. It did take a bit of time for the admittance process to get me a bed for my hospital stay in the main hospital but within a few hours I was admitted and made comfortable. These doctors are great at diagnosing you and the nurses are even better for treating you and explaining what's happening with you. All the doctors and nurses that treated me on the 2100 hall were outstanding. read more

I went to the emergency room on advice of my doctor. All I can say is never again will I go to this emergency room unless I'm unconscious! I came prepared to wait for a bit, but after over four hours of being shuffled and poked only to be sent to the waiting room. I asked to speak to a nurse and was bluntly told "it is a process " and I would have to wait for the doctor. I went to the desk again and inquired to speak to the patient advocate at which point the vile young woman at the desk said she was the advocate! I became quite upset and told her she needed to get off her ass and do her job at which point her reply was she didn't have to get off her ass. I may have been abrupt, but when you are not feeling well and ask to speak to someone you should at least be afforded that opportunity. If I could give this NEGATIVE stars I would. I went there last night around 8:30pm in incredible pain in my stomach. I was put into a room to take vitals right away- I was in tears and in serious pain. Once done they put me in the waiting room with a bunch of drug addicts (and people that weren't). I say this because 5 hours later when they did another vitals check the male nurse literally looked at me and said your nails are the cleanest I have seen all day. I responded excuse me (mind you I am crying in pain still) and his response was you must not be a frequent flyer... I was appalled. At this point I waited 5 hours and one human was taken back and I'm in tears and you're just making comments on my nails? Also kept saying a couple hours as hours past. I called other hospitals and was advised they were packed so I didn't want to leave and start all over again. Finally after watching every single nurse be a complete a-hole to everyone I decided it was time to leave at 3:15. I didn't think I would be seen until I was literally dead. I waited 8 hours in pain for absolutely no reason and went to another hospital and was admitted right away with meds and a diagnosis within 1.5 hours of being there. I understand they dealt with a lot of addicts and whatever else but I felt as though I was being put in the same category when I was in tremendous pain and my vitals proved that. I just don't understand how inconsiderate and rude each and every nurse I saw was (that being said it was about 6 of them either taking patients for testing or calling names to check vitals). Food is inedible, it seems wrong to feed inedible sh*t people who are trying to heal. ER staff would not allow my spouse to know of my condition, despite fact that I signed a release. This used to be a very good hospital. The quality has consistently gone down hill since Cleveland Clinic took it over. Call lights on for 45 min+ before anyone will check on you. Nurses who don't follow up on simple requests. Filthy bathrooms. No soap in the bathroom. They can't even offer tissues. Half of the doctors who come in obviously haven't read anything and ask a bunch of redundant questions and seem to do absolutely nothing with the info provided. And its almost criminal what they serve to patients to eat. I wouldn't feed it to my dog. I will protest that they are even charging us for it, plus it was always delivered late and cold. The quality of care was so horrible we will take our chances at Summa or go to Cleveland or Canton next time. read more

I came in with my boyfriend who later they find out his ankle is completely dislocated which we were tryna tell them since arrival so therefore they didn't get him pain meds until 2 hours later!! I think they are completely unprofessional to be a hospital. My boyfriends experience was not made any easier and I truly wish we would have spent our 6 to 7 hour wait at a different hospital and all we received was 2 x rays and a half cast wrap. I had surgery yesterday , 2/13/2023 . I have to say my experience exceeded my expectations. I had great Nurses in the PACU , Jennifer, Danielle was my primary nurse and she was so caring and attentive. I felt reassured and I know nurses are pushed to the limit. I had Susie and Racheal as well helping out. They gave off positive vibes and were helpful. Melanie transporter took me in a w/c to my car. All these healthcare workers deserve kudos !!
