Excellent bro Ailes white fish, still in the take our mode, able to sit inside. 15.96 Pleasant atmosphere.

View from the dining room. Lots of wood and UP nostalgia.

Walked in and loved the wood bar and beautiful building, the locals just stared at us and the waitress also looked surprised new faces might come through the door. There was someone in the kitchen that came out (possible owner?) and she was SUPER friendly. Lots of family history and local artwork on the walls, a time capsule. Our waitress did warm up to us, suggesting some local points of interest and the food was excellent. Ask for the specials, Whitefish was awesome. This place is well off the beaten path, a drive from Lake Linden. Overall, it was a really cool place and next time we are up North, hope to stop over again and have a Keweenaw brew, no taps, all bottles and cans which was surprising due to the ornate bar. Only suggestion to the staff would be a bit more friendly to customers walking in the door for the first time.

$7.50 Rodeo burger. Dry as hell. Better burger a Hardee's.

Continuing our eight day stay in Houghton in our motorhome. While at the Keweenaw Brewing Company…read more(KBC) we always strike up conversations with some locals. Ambassador has been recommended several times. We decided to try it and were craving pizza. We ordered the 12" Greek pizza (medium). I asked our server, Katelyn, if tomato sauce could be added to the pizza. Since it is a specialty pizza, Katelyn said it could not be added, but...she could bring a cup of the sauce along with the pizza. Worked out great! BTW, Katelyn was a great server and very pleasant. Oh, we were able to add pepperoni to half of the pizza. The additional cost of the pepperoni and the sauce was shockingly reasonable. The pepperoni was $1.00 and cup of sauce was $1.99. The pizza came right out of the oven and was delicious. We ordered a half carafe of the Apothic wine, which is a house wine. If you enjoy a decent wine, I suggest spending the extra 7 bucks and upgrading the wine...this is not a complaint, we like good wine. Ambassador has an old-school vibe and is very comfortable. It was very busy, but we had plenty of room at our table and the surrounding tables are not uncomfortably close. I highly recommend Ambassador!!

So was the Meatball Appetizer. The rest... pretty average unfortunately. My Ruben was only okay and the garlic bread was also very average. The blue cheese dressing on the house salad was not good at all. I'd come back to have another sandwich, just for the bread! The pizza also looked pretty good.

There were 2 servers that were busy with their tables, bringing out drinks and food, chatting with locals and greeting people who came in after us. After being seated for 15 minutes, I went to the 3 guys who were working the drink window (mostly just standing around chatting) and mentioned that no one had greeted us or brought us water. Instead of getting us water, he said he would let them know. I mentioned that we were with our very sweet 81 and 83 year old moms. For the next 15 minutes after that (30 minutes total), we tried to catch the attention of everyone. No response. I went up to the 3 guys again that had just been chatting by the window, saying that we still had not been greeted and didn't have water. He said that he already mentioned this to whoever. Why he would not bring us some water, I don't know. We were not loud or making a scene. After the next party came in, sat down, were greeted and then had their order taken, we finally lost our patience and left. As we were leaving, someone new finally came out of the kitchen and walked to our table. She apologized about the wait, which was nice, but we had already reached a level of frustration that could not be contained. This situation was shocking. Watching the servers wait on and chat with the locals while completely ignoring us, is something that I have never experienced. It is like no one wanted to wait on the "out-of-towners." I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone who was just passing through town!
