I work hear and the service is great. It's not very expensive and the atmosphere is super friendly. The food is pretty good. I would suggest their walleye, but the pizza doesn't taste the best but it still taste pretty good. I say that this is a five out of five. read more

I had heard my father speak about Dreamland from his younger years and the name always suggested a pleasant experience unfortunately things were only average at best. I had hoped for a locally caught Golden fried Whitefish filet unfortunately it was just a standard square fish patty , fries were okay , service was alright , ambiance left a bit to be desired. We were greeted by three servers when we walked in , it put a smile on our faces. We got a table right away and our drink orders were taken. A mix of mostly locals and some campers and boaters (we came by boat and parked at the Dreamland dock). Clean restaurant and bathrooms (always appreciated). We ordered the special: fried chicken with past. My husband loved the combo. The pasta sauce was soooooo goooood. Ordering that as a stand-alone dish would be a winner too. The chicken was fried very nice! The sandwich was one of their famous ones but I don't remember the name. It's the last one on the menu. Our friends love this and always come here for it. I got the whitefish. It was delicate and moist. I was a little bummed that the tartar sauce was not homemade because I bet they'd do a great job at it. Instead it was a premade sauce. Great service. Friendly atmosphere. Nice porch to sit on the rocker after dinner and chill for a bit before heading back to the boat. Did I mention how cool- and unique - a public dock that takes you to a restaurant on the Portage is?! 10 points for that alone! read more

What a beautiful old bar! We were supposed to snowmobile here but the weather didn't cooperate. So we drove there instead! The bartender and servers were so friendly and helpful! We only had some appetizers and a drink. The food was very good. Hopefully we'll be visiting again but by snowmobile next time. read more

Walked in and loved the wood bar and beautiful building, the locals just stared at us and the waitress also looked surprised new faces might come through the door. There was someone in the kitchen that came out (possible owner?) and she was SUPER friendly. Lots of family history and local artwork on the walls, a time capsule. Our waitress did warm up to us, suggesting some local points of interest and the food was excellent. Ask for the specials, Whitefish was awesome. This place is well off the beaten path, a drive from Lake Linden. Overall, it was a really cool place and next time we are up North, hope to stop over again and have a Keweenaw brew, no taps, all bottles and cans which was surprising due to the ornate bar. Only suggestion to the staff would be a bit more friendly to customers walking in the door for the first time. read more

This place might seem to be just another roadside bar and grill, but it is more than that; it has a history. It is quite out-of-the-way, unless you are actually going in the direction of Jacobsville along the Bootjack Road, which few people do. It's actually considered to be out-of-the-way for people who live in Houghton or Calumet. So why go? Well, for one, the service is great and friendly, sincerely friendly. The bar woodwork is over 120 years old, and very beautiful. The food is nice - burger, pizza, nachos, etc. - delicious, filling, and not overpriced. I've actually seen (more than once) local people who own their own restaurant in Dreamland having a burger! If you see restaurant owners eating at another restaurant, then that right there should be a stamp of approval. The historic part of it is that rumor holds it used to be a hotel in the sense that it was a rent-a-room-by-the-hour with a female companion type of place, just like the Old West! But if you ask about this the owners will deny it. Whether this is the truth or not, today you wouldn't be able to tell that it had ever been a house of ill repute, if the rumors have any truth to them (which they might not). Still, it gives the place a sort of an 'edge', believing that at one time it might have been a genuine frontier saloon just like out of "Gunsmoke". read more

Who wouldn't want to go to Dreamland Nestled nicely in the middle of nowhere, some arrive here by boat in the Summertime, but I've only been by car. The Dreamland has a nice relaxed atmosphere, and good, simple bar food. read more

Ridiculously overpriced mediocre food. Terribly salty skimpy chicken wings, $10 iceberg salads, skimpy 2 piece $13 fish fry and $7.50 dry burgers that don't even come with fries! Multi-generation owned establishment conveniently located close to a boat dock making it a nice stop when boating. It offers an average assortment of food and beverages that probably won't win big awards but should satisfy most appetites. The place in summer often has a mix of locals and boaters. Service is small-town friendly. I plan to continue to visit at least once a summer. read more

If you want friendly service , Great food and lots of local history this is the place to visit. I was taken there by a friend on his boat this past summer and had the Best Lake trout dinner ever. read more
