I saw Dr. Corman for a few appointments in 2021. He did initially diagnose me with ADHD, but how he went about prescribing medication for my ADHD did not sit right with me. He brags about how he helped develop TOVA, a computer program that he will sit you in front of with a clicker button (on a desktop that looks like it is only capable of running MS-DOS). Okay, maybe using it to diagnose someone could be super helpful, but the way he uses it to decide on the medication he will prescribe feels absolutely useless. He gives you a pill in a little envelope and has you come back the next day to test you on how well you play the computer game on the medication he gave you; if it isn't "up to par" to where he thinks you should be, he gives you another pill and has you come back to try it all over again, in no way taking into account how you, the client, may feel on the different medications he has given you. After all of his "testing" that I was subjected to, Dr. Corman settled on a medication that I particularly did not like, and as a mom, I did not feel it lasted long enough in my system to get through the day with enough focus and add on daily headaches. I brought all of this up with Dr. Corman, and instead of listening to me as an adult with opinions, he told me to take three XR (extended-release) pills a day at the lowest dose possible. This was after almost two weeks of being put through the wringer and taking five or six different types of medication given to me in tiny envelopes. Eventually, I decided that I wanted to find a psychiatrist who would work WITH me as a patient to find a drug that we both felt worked, with my input into the situation. I did, which has been super helpful. See anyone before you see Dr. Corman; he seems stuck in the 80s and 90s, probably when he developed that computer test. read more

This is a tricky review for me. This is the guy who helped develop the testing for ADHD. He knows his stuff, but he's also got some dated ideas at this point and only sees one way to do things. That combination gave me the impression he's not really interested in hearing what's been working for you or adapting medication to your other issues. I've used marijuana to treat my symptoms successfully for the past 15 years. I've had a decade and a half of good results with it. But, I know it interferes with the electronic testing he performs though so I went in there expecting him to tell me I needed to cut it and other medications off for testing. Heck chocolate even messes with his testing. I came in because I'm in my 30's now and my adhd symptoms aren't under control anymore. My wife is dying, I'm the sole provider for my family, and I have anxiety that I didn't have before. He didn't really address how that might affect my adhd. He blamed it on the marijuana and gave me a diagnosis of "pot dependence". Compared marijuana to heroin and started asking if I'd be willing to take that. So, I took it to heart. Walked out and stopped taking all my medications including marijuana. Ya know what, it wasn't as hard as he made it seem, and no I don't think I needed rehab for it (something he pushes for plain old weed). You know what was hard? Getting off the amphetamines they pushed on me as a kid. I saw shadow people and had crazy withdrawals from it. But you aren't amphetamine dependent because you need it for adhd, and I really don't think I fit the dsm-v for marijuana dependence. This dude just doesn't care to listen, because he's been doing the same routine for 20 years. You can get TOVA testing elsewhere for cheaper. You don't need him to be the one doing it. read more

My last experience with this man was 5 years ago and I FINALLY found his Yelp page. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. HE WILL JUST DIAGNOSE YOU WITH ADHD. DON'T EVEN GO TO HIM IF YOU WANT AN ADHD DIAGNOSIS. Here's EXACTLY what will happen to you if you go to this doctor; You'll talk with Dr. Corman who won't give a damn about your life story and he'll brag about how he has written a children's book on ADHD. Then he'll sit you down for 20 minutes doing an incredibly outdated computer test for ADHD. You're basically sitting in a room pressing a button whenever the screen flashes a shape. Afterwards you'll be told you definitely have ADHD. See the problem? There's no other outcome other than, "You have ADHD, please give me $5 to take one Adderall pill." Not to mention Adderall is absolutely HORRIBLE for most people! I have a family history of people who have taken Adderall and have gotten severely ill! Per someone's referral, we brought our 5 year old to Dr. Corman. They took him in to do some test for ADHD. A few minutes later, they came out saying he had a hard time with it and couldn't do the test. I asked my kid and he said he had to push buttons or something. I figured he's 5 and he's never been on a computer so okay. We go back to meet with the doctor who proceeds to explain ADHD and how are kid has it based on what we told him. Afterwards, he hands me a scrip for Adderall and says bc he couldn't do the test, they can't give exact dosage so for me to figure it out at home. WHAT THE F*&K?!? I'm not a pharmacist or doctor and I am not drugging my kid with something that he may or may not need!! We left, never to return again. I should've reported him back then. There are some BAD reviews on here and please please PLEASE take them with a grain of salt. I came to Dr. Corman from a recommendation from my therapist of 2+ years who I trust with my life. She is the type of doctor who wants to leave medication as a last resort and we determined that I did need some additional help. She said that she had worked with him years before with children and that he is an excellent Dr. and she was absolutely correct. Many of the reviews here mention how he wants to "run all these tests, and blah blah blah" But honestly, would you want someone to just hand you some meds that they aren't perfectly sure are right for you? Especially when it has to do with your mental health? Medication for your brain is different than medication for your liver. When it comes to your brain, you need to be careful, we've all heard the horror stories of someone's meds being off and they do something bad or stupid. You wouldn't want to risk that either, neither does he! I came in initially for depression. I sat and talked to him and he spotted that I was ADHD right off the bat, he did some initial tests with some in-depth questions and it was like a lightbulb went off in my head. These things I've dealt with my whole life, that I thought were totally normal, weren't. That my depression wasn't depression, but anxiety from being overworked and overstressed from my ADHD symptoms. He asked me to come back for testing and we did the T.O.V.A. test and determined that I am indeed ADHD. Now some reviews will state "it's an old test and doesn't seem right and other excuses." But honestly, if it works, it works, and it really works. He did the same thing I see others complain about and instead I praise him for it. He gave me a small dose of Adderall, told me to come back in an hour to re-test. I did and tested better, but not as well as I could. He then gave me Vyvanse to come back and test in two days, to make sure the Adderall was out of my system. The Vyvanse did the trick and I was way better, but not yet at the range he wanted. He gave me a slightly stronger dose, came back and re-tested. It was perfect, right on the money. Yes, it was expensive. Yes, I had to pay for each test, yes, I had to pay for the office visit too. But was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY. My life has changed dramatically. I'm focused, I'm not depressed, I am a pleasure to be around for my husband, family, and co-workers. I am not falling behind on my work, I'm eating healthier, I'm working out. It's been a miracle change for me as I had no idea how much my ADHD was holding me back. If I didn't have ADHD, the medication wouldn't have improved my scores and my life, and he would have been able to test another medication. Psychiatric medicine can be a guessing game, but Dr. Corman has mastered that game and is so professional and amazing. I cannot recommend him more. Please make sure you read all the documentation you get when you come in, make sure you are prepared for the associated costs, call your insurance beforehand if you need to be sure they cover everything. Be an informed patient, but don't get upset because he's a thorough Dr. who wants what's best for you as his patient. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE This office is a predator. They constantly claim that the patient owes them money, no matter how much you pay them. Their "statements" do not reflect the amounts paid by insurance, nor the patient. When you try to discuss their billing, they talk in circles. They force vulnerable patients to sign a disclosure that they will perform "tests" not covered by insurance to "cover their tracks." Read the other reviews that say the same thing. My insurance asked them point blank - "Why on Earth would you perform tests on patients that you know is not covered by their insurance?" He is a zero star provider. I have PTSD from visiting him. The visit caused moral injury because I listened to him over my instincts and the worst outcome happened and then he dismissed it. I wish I had listened to my instincts that told me not to trust him. I have spoken to more than one person in my area who saw him and does not recommend him. If you just want someone to give you the diagnosis of ADHD for any reason, he is your guy, but don't do the testing over and over as you pay out of pocket and he triple charged me. Okay, to each there own.... just reading several good and bad on the good Doctor- I'm a very new patient and feel very positive about this Doctor and he may be blunt, but he's like me when it comes to, "JUST TELL ME YES OR NO" Time is Definitely Money!! Great psychiatrist! I wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until I was 42 years old. I went from psychiatrist to psychiatrist for almost 7 years and none of them really knew how to medicate for ADHD. My insurance changed and I was finally able to go to Dr. Corman, long ago recommended by my therapist who, also an ADHD specialist, diagnosed me. Dr. Corman is ridiculously intuitive and knows what ADHD looks like in its multitude of presentations. He is not a warm fuzzy therapist who wants to listen to your life history and emotional wounds, but he is neither uncaring nor unkind. He will tell you what he thinks, but he will also use that computerized TOVA test to figure out the perfect medication and dose. I have been seeing him for close to 19 years and every time he has reviewed my meds because they weren't working as well as they had been, he has gotten the right medication and dose in one or two times of taking the TOVA. Sometimes, for some people it takes more tests. You may have to pay some money out of pocket, but it is so worth it to be properly medicated. I have been on antidepressants for 33 years and he also has done a great job with that. I went from taking 2 and 3 meds to just 20 mg of one medication. Being diagnosed with ADHD changed my life, but getting on the right meds really changed my functioning. I have seen reviews critical of Dr. Corman 40 years ago. I would not like to be judged today on who I was 40 years ago. Do you want to be properly diagnosed and medicated for your ADHD and mental health issues? Dr. Corman is the doc. I've been a patient of Dr Corman's since 2016. Mental illness runs in my family. My mother and brother both suffer from depression. I suffer from depression, PTSD from a traumatic event in childhood, and ADHD. From someone who has been going to see doctors since I was 13 years old for a multitude of mental health issues, I can tell you three things: 1. Proper diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues is not quick. People can go their entire lifetimes and see multiple doctors without finding the underlying root cause of their mental health issues. 2. Proper diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues is not easy. Mental health is a subjective thing. Rarely can all of your problems be solved through medication alone. Sometimes you have a litany of issues which requires multiple combinations of drugs, exercise, support groups - you name it. The two points above add up to #3: 3. Proper diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues are not cheap. Prescription drugs, check-ups, co-pays, medications, misdiagnosis, second, third, 4th consultations, gas money, deductibles... all of this adds up. What does any of this have to do with Dr Corman? Dr Corman is an old-school doctor who specializes on ADHD. He's from a generation before people had instant access to WebMD and other online self-diagnosis tools. It's an era where as a patient, you understood that you were paying someone who devoted his life to a practice for his expertise, which means you have to relinquish some control over the situation and trust the process. I completely understand why Dr Corman would rub a lot of people the wrong way; his personality is sometimes a direct reflection of this era. However, as someone who's seen multiple specialists over the years, it's something I appreciate about him. I know that when I step into his office, we're getting down to the business of figuring out this MAJOR question in my life: how much of struggles (if any) are related to ADD/ADHD? The answer has not been easy. I live in Orange County and his office is about 15-20 miles away. The first week was nothing but testing on different medications (sometimes 2 tests a day) and coming back and discussing the results. After that initial week, we're in the coasting stage where I take the prescribed dosage and come back monthly to talk about any changes, ups and downs. There was a period between 2017 and 2018 where I lost my healthcare and had to see another psychiatrist. Dr Corman's office faxed about 30 pages of testing to the other office. The psychiatrist at the time was extremely impressed with the testing methodology, and had no hesitation about continuing my ADHD regimen based on the results. When I was able to go back on Blue Shield earlier this year, it was another week and a half of testing. We went back to the drawing board - is the regimen still working? Is there anything that works better? Do the benefits of the stimulants still out-weigh the side effects, or do we need to lower the dosage? Dr Corman has been a positive impact on my life. I know he's not for everybody, but he's a significant resource for me to map the underlying root causes of my mental health issues, and for that, I am very thankful. If you scroll down these reviews, you'll realize that a lot of the positive reviews are from patients that have gone through the mental health grind for a while, and the negative reviews are coming from people that don't have a lot of experience with mental health physicians. If you're a new patient; especially if you're new or don't have a lot of experience with mental health specialists, I would give you this advice: 1. Dr Corman is an ADHD specialist. Another reviewer in correct in saying "to a hammer, everything looks like a nail". However, when it is a nail, there's no other tool you want to use to drive it through a board than a hammer. 2. Don't go into this hoping you're going to get a clean diagnosis for ADD/ADHD. Go into this understanding that you're paying money to get a thorough exploration of whether or not you have ADD/ADHD. If the treatment is not helping/working, cross it off the list and move to the next potential cause of your symptoms. 3. Some insurance companies do not cover his tests. I would highly recommend to either speak with the staff who usually knows if the tests are covered, or call your insurance company directly to make sure. 4. The test exists because stimulants are finicky bed partners. There is no such thing as a recommended starting dose; it's not based on height/weight. 5 mg up or down can make a world of difference. 5. I have had a good experience with Dr. Corman. I appreciate his expertise in determining most beneficial medication for adhd. His help has been monumental in my child's life and ability to do their school work. Very grateful and happy to have found him. It wasn't easy finding a psychiatrist that works with kids, is taking new patience and know adhd. It's hard just to get a return call from most child psychiatrists. I saw Dr Cleary who is in the same office. He was extremely unhelpful. I was trying to find the right path to take with my perscriptions and he just shut me down and told me I had made up my mind. Disappointed I am required to give one star and this star goes to the staff. Dr. Corman is rude as hell and has no business practicing medicine. Aetna my insurance referred me to his office, yet I was told Behavior Health didn't cover ADHD. My nightmare began - I brought my son in last week to see if he had ADHD. The initial cost of $185 was acceptable. I was asked to return for additional testing today for $185 to determine the dosage of medicine he should take. My son was given a test $105 +$75 Dr's visit. I was told he definitely had adhd and his score was a -4.83 . He then administered a pill from a box with no label which I had to pay $5 cash for. I was told it was adderall 5mg ER. I was told to return in 1hr to test again which would cost another $105. The test results were then -380. My son was given another 5mg adderall ER and I was told to return in an hr. We returned to test again 3x. I was told he did worse after taking 10MG and I would have to return tomorrow to take another test and pay $185 again plus $5 for another pill which was 10MG. Dr. Corman told me my son had taken 10MG of adderall and it was too much so we would have to adjust it down yet he gave me another 10MG pill for $5. Im sick with grief at this point because I know I am being taken advantage of, lied to and humiliated in front of my child. I have now paid this jerk $185+$385+$15 and now he wants more money. When questioning Dr. Corman about the meds & testing as it cost me $585 because my son had to take the test 3 times today I was told to shut up, "no offense but Im talking to your son." I was furious but I could see my son was disturbed by this mans behavior so I kept my mouth shut and started praying this would all end. His perception of me must have been I fell off the coconut truck. I was not ever allowed to speak in the two visits or ask questions about this testing program or how it works. When I told him I could not pay for anymore testing he asked "don't you have a job", don't you have insurance. This is licensed Psychiatrist speaking to a mother with her child in the room. Absolutely disgusting and beyond belief. There is NO test that tells you how much medicine to administer and why would you feed a child extended release meds and have them take a test one hr later. I was never shown or provided any test results for $570 I spent not to mention it is illegal to sell drugs for cash especially controlled substances. My son is 10 yrs old and the sickest thing about all of this was when we got to the car we both burst out in tears. My son felt that he needed to apologize for this jerks behavior. To hear your kid who is battling his own issues say; "I'm sorry Mom, It hurt me too that you got told to shut up when you were trying to get me help to be better". Dr. Corman a few words to you. You are compassionless, cold hearted, hateful person not to mention a disgrace to the medical field. You told the wrong person to "SHUT UP", how dare you call yourself a doctor, a Psychiatrist at that. I WORK FOR A MEDICAL DOCTOR, your test, your practices and you are a FRAUD. You were right insurance doesn't pay for YOUR testing as it is not approved by anyone but you. A medical release has been sent to your office for my sons records. If there is a delay in getting those records I will go to the police with the controlled substance you sold me for $5 cash. The fact that I bought 3 pills from you for $15 cash was my own ignorance. I should have walked out but I was already $585 out of pocket and felt trapped. I still don't have medicine for my kid and have to start this process over but I will never give you the chance to humiliate me especially in front of my son. I had a similar experience as 2 other reviewers as a patient of Dr. Corman at Golden Valley Health Center in Minnesota. Recently reading about Paris Hilton's horrific experience brought up my past and I realized that I too suffered in the hands of so called professionals. I was a patient of Dr. Corman in the mid 80's when I was 16 years old. He led my parents to believe that I needed intensive emotionally treatment....until my insurance ran out. I was then moved into the drug treatment program. I had only smoked pot a few times at this point. I was in this drug treatment program..... until my insurance ran out. It was then recommended that I be placed in a half way house. I don't know if Dr. Corman had a financial stake in this business but thankfully my parents allowed me to come home. In subsequent discussions with my parents I found out that we were both given conflicting information about my treatment needs. Dr. Corman preyed on my parents fear for his own financial gain. Dr. Corman treated me for 5 months For ADHD. Turns out I don't have ADHD / ADD. He developed a computer program to see if you have ADHD / ADD. He charges everyone he tests for the pleasure of his bank account the software made in the 70's. He gave me Ritalin which jacked me up. He specializes in ADHD, but to him EVERYTHING is caused by ADHD. I agree with Michael P, "He's like a hammer in that regard; every problem is a nail. His bedside manner makes Dr. House seem like a loveable teddy bear. He sizes you up 30 seconds after he first sees you and will not deviate from his opinion, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. In short, DO NOT SEE THIS QUACK! I definitely should have checked yelp before I visited this doctor, however he was one of the only doctors available to meet me on short notice (I came back from school and left for vacation in one week). When I went to the doctor's office, I was astonished by how absolutely rude both the doctor and the secretary was. The secretary was condescending and extremely unhelpful. There was construction and gridlock traffic near the practice, so I called ahead and let the secretary know that I would get there as fast as possible but that there was a lot of traffic. She let me know that there was an appointment after me, but I was only 2 miles away so I was sure that I would only be 5-10 minutes late maximum. I ended up 20 minutes late and once I got there the secretary accused me of lying on the phone when I told her that I was only 2 miles away and that I should be there shortly. Because I was late, I asked her if I could give her my insurance card and fill out my paperwork after my appointment to which she simply said no. I explained to her that I was going on vacation in 2 days and had been looking forward to this appointment and needed to see the doctor, but she was completely unsympathetic and said that I would have to tolerate my vacation and the soonest that she could see me was sometime in January. Then I was completely surprised because the doctor walked into the backroom/secretary's office, did not address me, said that I was so late there was absolutely no way that as a doctor he could help me and that the appointment times are there for a reason. He did not speak to me once as he said any of this; he spoke directly to the secretary. Then the secretary turned to me and repeated exactly what the doctor said even though I was less than 4 feet away from him. I asked if there was absolutely anything I could do at this point to which the secretary said that I should get a referral. I asked for a referral and then she said that she had none. I made an appointment for January and then when I asked for the address one more time, instead of speaking to me, she threw the business card at me. Needless to say, I'm not going back. . read more

No good manners, rude, no compassion, not considerate, hater, rushes you, talks by himself-don't listen to you, cuts you off, asks you questions, but doesn't allow you to talk, doesn't greet you, acts with compliance and authoritative, lost passion. I thinks time for him to change career since he appears to lost the meaning of his passion, judgemental, stereotypical!!! Literally told me that this person has NO TIME TO treat patients!!!!!!!! (meaning, he doesn't want to listen to what I have to say, "get to the point", "are you paying out of cash or thru insurance?", "hurry up so I can go on to the next person for more money.") This is how I felt. Not, sure if I should have more compassion for this type of person or he should have more compassion for the clients. Dr. Corman is a very reputable doctor and is an expert in his field. He's a specialist and has a reliable method in helping patients find the best options for them. His office staff is very nice too. Finding the right doctor for you goes beyond yelp researching, but in my experience, following Dr. Cormans directions and process tremendously helped me. I'm very grateful for Dr. Corman. read more

This is my first Yelp review and I am writing this because of all the negative reviews below. I think people need to grow up and see the other's perspective a little bit (something that ADHD patients don't do very well). I met Dr. Corman 15 yrs ago this past summer. In short, he saved my son's life...and mine. I found out from Dr. Corman (because a dear friend who was a Family Therapist thought I needed to go too) that both my son and I had ADHD and needed medication. Both of our lives were changed incredibly. Yes, Dr. Corman is blunt...because he has to stay on tract in conversing with ADHD patients so they hear what he is saying before thier mind wanders! He is very assessable and I have found that he has always completed every consultation without ending due to time. He is thorough and makes the patient in front of him the most important item in his day. But make no mistake, he does have so much compassion. I got to know him better than most maybe because I happened to mention something to him regarding how my life was so much better. He was fascinated because my dosage was so incredibly small. From that moment on, I saw the less-protected Dr. Corman. He is a good man and knows his stuff. read more

I am currently going through a meds evaluation, and I have a previous diagnosis of ADHD, but a lifetime of not being treated. I previously saw Dr. Litzinger, but he has since left the state. Dr. Corman confirmed my diagnosis and began finding appropriate meds for me, and if that process is timely and makes him.money- Awesome! Because it also ensures that I am not an over-medicated Zombie. Some commenters say he developed the TOVAR, which is funny. The TOVAR has been in use for quite sometime by professionals in the field of ADHD as an unbiased test of attention and impulsivity. I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, and very familiar with the TOVAR., among other computer based testing for ADHD (which look at reaction times, and clicking based on stimuli). Dr. Corman is a doctor, so expect what you would from any MD. I felt that Dr. Corman was compassionate, but straightforward, and on a time schedule. Being timely, means not waiting as long in the waiting room. I think rushing could improve, and taking time to hear client perspectives. If you are depressed, seek an expert in depression rather than ADHD. I specialize in childhood sexual abuse, and if you sit in front of me with non trauma related issues, you won't like my style because my work is specialized and focused in 1 of a wide range of mental health issues. If you ever come here, beware of several things: #1, THE DOCTOR: Dr. Corman lacks absolute compassion. He does not remember you even if you've been going for several years. He does not listen to your concerns and if you dare question how well the medication is working for you, instead of perhaps making adjustments and working with his patients, he's gonna test you again on his outdated software which is VERY expensive (130 dollars after insurance for me for every test). #2, THE TEST: First timers will receive one test without medication and then another test with medication (which he will sell to you for 5 dollars cash only; what a joke!). If he sees your results and he feels like, "Maybe we can do better", but rather maybe his bank account can do better, he will test you AGAIN for any new medication he feels is your "fit". You can't judge how a medication will perform from just a 30 minute test as it does not reliably tell you how the medication will perform throughout the duration of the day and how you will feel as a result of the medication. Clearly, if you took the test without medication and your responsiveness and impulsivity align with a patient with ADD/ADHD, he should work with you to find your best fit and not work with himself to enlarge his bank account. #3, THE BILLING DEP. For the most part, his staff is decently nice. Except for one or two that are absolute snakes. Make sure you ONLY pay with debit or credit card to keep track of what you've paid and make sure you contact your insurance company as these staff members base the charges on what they think you're supposed to be charged, rather than actually checking. I had to correct them several times because they tried charging me more than what I'm contractually supposed to be charged. Let's not forget the MANY times they've stated I had an outstanding balance, a balance that always stayed the same 3 digits, despite additional payments given towards that balance. And each time I went in for a refill, I was told I have an outstanding balance with you guessed it, the same damn amount for the past year. Then when you try to rebuttal, they tell that you didn't make extra payments, that you've been sitting on this debt for a while. So with all that said, do yourselves a favor and never come to this office unless you absolutely have to. And just as some of the other reviews have pointed out, he's not the best at what he does and he should retire or find some other career path other than being a money sucking, rude, mediocre doctor of psychiatry. read more

Dr. Corman treated my wife for 2 and a half months for bipolar type 2 disorder and ADHD. My wife had undergone treatment for the bipolar previously with doctors at her old job for 4 years with much success. 2 and a half months under Dr. Corman's "care" has put her through hell. He changed medications that had been proven successful to ones that exponentially increased anxiety and depression, all while she was starting a new job. His biggest issue is that he does NOT listen. How can he when his ego is screaming how awesome he is? He specializes in ADHD, but to him EVERYTHING is caused by ADHD. He's like a hammer in that regard; every problem is a nail. His bedside manner makes Dr. House seem like a loveable teddy bear. He sizes you up 30 seconds after he first sees you and will not deviate from his opinion, even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. He made my wife endure several expensive tests (not covered by insurance,) that revealed little (his office staff was kind enough to charge my wife twice for the privilege.) He promised monumental change for my wife. If depression and anxiety and stress where what he meant... Thankfully we were able to find a new psychiatrist locally who takes the time to listen and prescribe meds that work. In short, DO NOT SEE THIS QUACK! He will undo any previous treatment you may have been under and start you back at zero. He should not practice psychiatry; he is a danger to his patients' stability. read more

My son has been seeing Dr. Corman for the past eight years . We left his practice when we heard our pediatrician could write him the same prescription. In those two years ,we we're given the wrong dosage with no testing and my sons behavior and response to the doses were very negative. We returned to Dr. Corman with more testing resulting in highly changed doses. He has a lot of knowledge in what dose is good for patients according to size and age and testing. I love the computerized testing protocol that measures impulsivity and attentiveness in relationship to the amount of meds. Yes he has a blunt personality but in our family we definitely require that. He did tell me to "stop interrupting" because I tend to speak for my children and they know more about their bodies , and minds , than I do. I agree with some of the other reviews that he is blunt but it is necessary because people with ADHD tend to be impulsive and interrupt. I have been taking my 13 year old daughter to Dr. Corman for 2 years now. She was diagnose with ADHD in 3rd grade, but I had never found a doctor that I truly felt was an advocate for her. Dr. Cormen's regular "testing" of my daughter has been extremely helpful. He explained to me that as children grow (especially girls), they tend to need lower doses of the medication in order to focus during the day. Over the last 2 years, she progressively taking less and less medication. I know we are in good hands and recommend the doctor highly! read more

I'm sure glad someone had a better time than I did. I found that the Dr. Corman was always late for appointments. Staff skipped over me one time for other patients scheduled after me. Each other time it was 45-60 late each time. Patients were talking about their dissatisfaction in the waiting room. Staff is very rude. When I told him how I was feeling, he told me I was getting old like he is. We may be the same age, but I'm nothing like him. Very Abrupt and condescending. Testing equiptmnent if from the dinosaur age. I left him and went to Dr Sigel at his practice. Still late all the time. Have waited three months for a group referral or sleep study from her. Did get a psycologist referal. Still nothing on the others. I have left 4 messages at different times that have never been returned. Told them that I felt worse after I came than went I came in so I would like my medical records to take to another doctor. It's been 17 days and I still don't have anything. Left a message again. I saw Dr. Corman today for the first time. It seems the second I walked in he was ready to diagnose me with ADHD. I have never had anyone tell me that ever! I have seen psychiatrists in the past and this was never brought up as a possibility! He give me a series of question from some test with very vague questions that are all very circumstantial and was only allowed to give yes or no answers. "Do you have trouble starting boring mundane tasks?" Are you serious?! Who doesn't! Now I have ADHD?! I have been treated for depression and anxiety. I've taken prozac in the past, it worked with little to no side effects. He tries to push something else on me because it's " better". I ask why change what I know works? I end up literally arguing with this guy over what I know has worked for me. I don't have ADHD. I just needed to renew my script for prozac and be on my way. He had an agenda from the second I walked in. I even accused him of being in the pocket of Big Pharma and trying to get me to take a pill I didn't need. However, If you do or suspect you have ADHD, I recommend him. If you are going in for something other then that, find somebody else. read more

I was diagnosed ADHD in March. I was going to have a final test on the next day. I found him to get the prescript Adderall. He didn't give me the Adderall right away, even I need at that time. He told me need for some tests. He also told me need off all chocolate and all caffein in food. After his computer test, he diagnosed I do have ADHD. He gave me some Vyvense 10 mix with water. I felt it is very different feeling that I can do my test. His test is not diagnosis whether you have ADHD. It is how much medication for you should take for your ADHD. If you want diagnosis for ADHD you should found another doctor!!!!! This place is found out how much mediation is best for you. I was found out right amount for me in 2 months!!!! He gave me every week different amount Vyvense or Adderall to test me. read more

Tip: I heard from my father's doctor that the two other psychiatrists that work with him are well known among their colleagues. Choose your psychiatrist wisely from this office Call me naive, I regret seeing this doctor. I am a college student that was seeking help with my inability to concentrate. I found this doctor on my insurance's website. Anyways, he was not informative when I asked questions; he gave me very vague answers. When I would talk he would cut me off. I did give him a chance though and thought that just maybe that is how psychiatrists are. He gave me a variety of meds to try and they didn't work. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!!! Do not even CONSIDER using this Dr. even if he is the ONLY Dr. your insurance covers. I started taking my son to Dr. Corman when he was 5 years old. I explained what the issues were and he immediately said my child had ADHD. Based on his diagnosis we went through numerous computer tests (that he KNEW my insurance did NOT cover, but he didn't seem to mind that he was testing as often as he was). Once the numerous ADHD meds did not work, he then diagnosed my son with bipolar disorder. He prescribed a mood stabilizer which helped a TON. Unfortunately, that particular med stopped working so I went back to Dr. Corman and specifically told him that I believed my son just needed a new mood stabilizer, but he insisted that he needed to go back to ADHD medication.....which again DID NOT HELP. Then he prescribed a new "mood stabilizer" and insisted that my son take yet another computer test. My son started the new med on Tuesday evening and we had another appointment on that Friday of the same week for the computer test. The Dr. said he was doing great on this new med( even though I told him it had kept him awake for over 37 hours straight) and that if he misbehaved it was only because he was being a "bad kid".....his words....not mine. He said just to keep him on it....and that is when my world fell apart.....HE PRESCRIBED HIM THE WRONG MEDICATION. My son had a psychotic episode because he was NOT prescribed a medication for bipolar disorder...he prescribed an anti-depressant which my child did NOT need. Needless to say my child has now been hospitalized for the last 6 days because of this rude, flippant and ignorant Dr. When I called him after day 3 of the hospital stay, he refused to help me, refused to see my son and at that point said "I'm sorry I cant help you...there is nothing more that I can do for your son" If I can help even ONE person avoid this Dr. and go through what I have this past week then I have done my job. PLEASE do not even consider this man. He may have done irreversible damage to my son. read more
