Saw a comment about them having silver and bronze age comics so I drove South an hour away to check…read moreout a new comic store. When I arrived I asked the guy behind the counter about them and he basically said, "good luck, we don't have many because guys come in here weekly with their Key Collector apps out hoping to make a flip." The comics are well organized so I looked and I did find one....$3 for a Warlock Infinty Watch #7. I brought some comics in to trade since another store I've frequented (that's North an hour drive away) does trades. Absolutely not here and the guy told me, "we're like Walmart, we don't do trades." I paid the $3 and left. If you're in there for Funko or new age comics it's probably a great store. If you're going for TCG be prepared to pay high dollar for scalped products and "minty" raw cards.

This place is located in the perimeters of Orlando, Florida in a small shopping center next to the…read morerestaurant. It's nice and Qwaint and sits in a hidden area behind later places. But upon arrival, I can tell that it was a pretty laid-back please. The desk clerk was very knowledgeable about the games and their history, as well as some nostalgic items that were available. They also have lots of Funko pops if you're into that type of thing. I even like the way they use the ticket gun to price various items in the store. It reminded me of the old school candy store with the little stickers label posted on it. The items look well cared for and wrapped very thoroughly and methodically. I believe lots of the items are fairly priced and not overwhelmingly expensive. I was most impressed with the miniature video game console that sat at the front counter that pre-dated the Atari. What surprise me most about this location is that they had a actual arcade in the back with various games from the 80s like contra, galaxa, pong, Qbert, dig, dug, streetfighter, or Pac-Man, and they even had a racing game. Even though it was not a very, very large arcade, It really did bring back quite a bit of memories.

I bought a dsi from here and the top trigger wasn't working so I brought it back in and they said…read morethey would fix it for me. after they fixed it they noticed another problem with it that needed attention so they ordered the part online for me and gave me a dsi to borrow until the one I bought was fixed. I haven't actually been here since my boyfriend and I broke up; however, I was in the area at beauty master and I decided to stop and see what they had and I'm so happy I stopped. I spoke to Gabe at the counter when he rang me up all the opened Funko's or four dollars so I snagged Mr. Oogie boogie. I will be cleaning him up and dusting him off and then I will be bedazzling him. Most of the comics I got besides from the two dollar comic were $.50 apiece and then he also bagged them up and put a paper backs in them as well for me. They sell them for I think $.15 apiece for the bags in the bags; they also own the store next-door, which is called last pack magic it is a trading card game store. If you are ever in the area, Mike's comics and collectibles has a wonderful selection of $.50 comics as well as comics that come out now I highly recommend stopping here. If you're going to have back issues or comics at all I behoove stores to have them bagged and boarded nice as it makes me as a customer more likely to buy. It has another side for Pokémon cards and stuff too.

Any action figure you had as a kid is probably here at prices that will make you angry at dad for throwing them out in 1975. I've never been in here without having to dodge customers looking starry-eyed in an aisle at something they found. Don't miss the back room full of graphic novels and discount boxes at the back.

This review is strictly about how the owner chose to handle the situation. I went in looking to buy a structure deck for the new Gundam card game that just released. The staff member confirmed they had four decks in stock, but said they weren't selling them yet because they hadn't received their full shipment and were worried about scalpers. I completely understood that concern, so I explained I only wanted one deck for myself. Even then, she said the owner refused to sell them because they wanted to use the decks for an event to teach people how to play. I mentioned I wouldn't be able to attend the event and just wanted to buy the product, but they still said no. I honestly don't know how they're going to run an event with only four structure decks. It's frustrating to be turned away when they clearly had the product in stock, especially since I've had several good experiences with this shop in the past. Again, I really appreciate how well the staff member handled the situation. Unfortunately, the owner's decision here made for a very disappointing experience. If you're looking for Gundam products, this is not the store to go to.

Owner Jack Tolzmann has made it fully a comic book store now, devoting space that used to be shelves of used books to more graphic novels and collectibles. There's a selection of kid-friendly comic books at the back right corner and teen graphic novels to your right when you enter. New releases go up on the wall every Wednesday. This store has been helping Saint Augustine geek out since 1986.

They have a large selection of Current Comics and a fair selection of comics from the 1960s and 1970s. Laid out nicely, and easy to browse through. There are also boxes of consignment comics to check out. Then there are quite a few Sale comics 25 cents plus boxes at 50% off, so lots of selections for the casual buyer. Of course they also have figurines and games. Owners are very knowledgeable and said they can also search for a specific comic title or issue. Check it out.

Every person there was very friendly and helpful. Even though there was a tournament going on, they were kind enough to sit with me and explain things, and I even played a game before the night was over. They have a massive selection of comics, Funko POPS, and hard-to-find toys and items. Prices seemed to be very fair as far as I could see, too!

They put care into their displays and what figurines or other trinkets are placed with which books. Their prices aren't as cheap as books when you thrift, but the effort that goes into curating and organizing a collection this big - almost makes it worth the retail prices on some of these books. I also noticed they had some Disney tsum tsum? Figurines that must be slight after and collectible because the retail was 5.95 and the written price for the store was $10.

They also have a lot of CDs, VCR tapes, magazines, and many more items I was unable to explore on this visit. We were on our way to a concert and I had about 30 minutes to look for a few music books, which I found with the staff's help. I have to say that the staff were great and knew exactly where they kept the music books, good job! It's good to know this store has a variety of music books to choose from and for the most part they are organized well, except the ones on the floor. You just have to dig a little. I chose two Faber level III piano books and a Bastien level III piano technique book. The Bastien book was only $2 but it has a lot of notes from previous students. The two Faber books were $6 each and virtually untouched, excellent! Some of the books are on the pricey side, especially some of these old music books, they are asking $20 when the covers are missing and music score is illegible. I just don't see myself spending that much when I can put that $20 towards a brand new book series or Henle Album of exceptional quality. Regardless, I want to support local, and have been very happy with my purchase. I will return again to see what I missed on my previous visit. If you love book stores, this is a good one and definitely worth the stop.
