The faucets work, the toilets flush... and....get this.... there are actually paper towels to dry your hands with (in addition to dryers). It's easy to access and it's just past exit 10 on the northbound side of 87...on the southern end of Saratoga Springs. I also always feel somewhat safe as there are usually a few police cars parked here. Maybe it's a false sense of security (since I don't recall actually seeing police officers...)...but regardless...I've been here many times without incident. Which is a good thing.

Ciabatta bread was served, but there was no sign of bread plates. My husband ordered the salmon, and I ordered the braised short rib. Both were mid, not much flavor, and the table didn't even offer salt and pepper. When I requested it, it was graciously provided. Each meal came with an historical salad, circa Alexander the Great. When our meals came, they were warm, served with unimaginative vegetables. They did offer a purple carrot, a unicorn in Amsterdam. In a spectacular location like this, they could do a killing if their food was as unique and as inspired as their ambience. The service was solid. Everyone we encountered did their best to meet our needs. They were obviously kind people. At $140 for two with gratuity, this was steep for what we got.

We did not really see the grounds that night when we drove in. We had to 'self check-in' and found our room. We were pleasantly surprised at how great the room was. We had a wood burning stove, flat screen TV, huge bed with comfy bed linens, and a huge private bathroom. The next morning we woke up to the smells of breakfast. We made it out to the dining room and there was a delicious spread along with the owners serving us and making plenty if conversation. We really enjoyed it. After breakfast we took a walk around the property, WOW. It was amazing. The farm is so pretty and truly a great spot for leaf peeping. I can't wait to go back next year!!

They canceled our reservation with no warning, no call, no consent or heads up of any kind!! We pulled up to check in on the day we were scheduled to and were told our room was given away with no warning. We were 5 hours away from home with nowhere to stay or go and were left stranded...the worst feeling ever. I booked our room back in OCTOBER 2022 after having stayed there the previous June and received full email confirmation. The rooms nearly doubled in price in the year since we had been there, but clearny no renovations of any type have been done in nearly 25 years. We are creatures of habit and thought they were trustworthy to book again, but boy were we wrong. The owner was extremely aggressive, unprofessional, confrontational, flippant, and rude. They double booked our room and lied saying that we never showed up. I have a paper trail to prove our reservation was scheduled properly, we were to check in on Saturday June 17 with a Monday June 19 checkout. Upon arriving at 3:PM the day of check in the owner lied to my face saying we were a no show the day prior (not even when we booked for) and they gave away our room! We were confirmed to stay Saturday - Monday! They screwed everything up and instead of attempting to be kind, apologetic, or helpful in any way shape or form to a woman in tears the owner decided to get loud with someone they just ripped off, basically throwing us out. I was told to leave because there was no room for us anymore and nothing was going to change. Even if they screwed up the reservation on their schedule the room could have been paid for both nights by us and never should have been given away. On the reservation they had my cell phone number to contact me if they had concerns or questions of any kind. I have NEVER experienced this level of unprofessionalism, and inappropriateness from any business anywhere. This man would not even speak to us and told me my email confirmation was obsolete because he had already given away our room and nothing was going to change. We considered calling the police on this man for this fraudulent reservation and aggression but left in a hurry because he wouldn't even let my poor husband use the restroom after being in the car for 5 hours. I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau already and have informed my credit card to not accept any fraudulent charges from these criminals. Shout out to the Inn at Saratoga for hooking us up and saving the day with a discounted room, free breakfast, and free drinks due to this incredible inconvenience. The McGregor Inn's reputation precedes them. Don't make the mistake of trusting this place because clearly they do not honor any reservations made and are just money grabbing scammers. Horrible sketchy people, horrible sketchy place. UPDATE: THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD 5 DAYS PRIOR TO CHECK IN ILLEGALLY - credit cards are to be charged AFTER checking out. The card was on record to HOLD a room that they did not even do. The charge is being disputed. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

Limited availability exists for Phish Phan rates, starting out at $17 per night with additional fees depending on number of guests and site type requested. Reasonable by all means in my opinion. According to the website, it appears that sites with water/electric normally go for $30 a night with deals for weekly and monthly stays. What sets this campground apart from others is the staff and the atmosphere. Everyone greets you with a smile and is genuinely interested in maximizing your stay's enjoyment. An atmosphere of community and neighborliness is almost palpable. Regulars stroll by and inquire about the prior evening's concert. Staff role around on tractors kindly rescuing cars and campers from the mud when several days rain renders them lost. Special weekend activities such as Bingo, Parades, Contests, etc. promote activity between sites. There's nothing like sleeping in after a long concert on these quiet grounds, showering off the stickiness from a night of dancing, grilling up delicious meals, lounging amongst the sights and sounds of upstate NY, taking a dip in the pool to cool off, grabbing a frozen treat from the convenience store, and strolling the shaded paths of these grounds in anticipation of another night's concert and following campfire. Sitting on a swing in the early morning, car packed to the brim with what was left of our camping supplies, I felt reminded of the cherished summers I spent at day camps back home. I look forward to another stay on these grounds in future weekend trips to SPAC.
