I work in Bothell and Cody works in downtown Seattle, so we had to take time away from work just to come by. I thought we got great service at first from sales associate Sara. But there has been zero follow up. We went in looking for an engagement ring and wedding band. We brought in Cody's mom's old ring to see if we can reuse the diamonds in it for a new setting. Sara even took all the measurements of the diamonds. I tried on a few bands, told her what we were looking for and she said she will do her research and contact us with what she finds. Cody and I don't know much about pricing, cost of diamonds, and just rings in general. So we mentioned we wanted to keep it around a certain price, and she said ok. But now I feel like we might have given too low of a price hence why there's been no follow up? If so though, she should have educated us more about the stone cost while we were in the store. She took down both our names and phone numbers, asked if she could text us, and we said yes. No follow through whatsoever. We really wanted to buy from a local jeweler and support local business. But apparently they don't want our business. We stopped by here on Friday 7/12 btw, its been over 2 weeks, so we have given them plenty of time to contact us.

I left my wedding band with them and no one followed up with me with an estimate until I contacted them after 10 days. When I gave them the green light to work on the wedding band, I waited weeks. I finally went in in person and was told it would be done the next day. I waited another couple weeks. I finally called and was told something that sounded very technical (and very fake) about how my ring was going through the final process of ensuring all was well. And maybe 30 minutes later (!!!) I received a phone call saying my ring was ready to be picked up. I felt insignificant and forgotten. I pursued every piece of follow up on my own. I had also wanted to have my engagement ring redesigned but I am not interested in giving them more business. I also felt like maybe my business was not enough in dollars to bother them with follow up calls and customer service. Something has changed from what they once were and the glowing reviews I had heard. Or maybe it was me that they didn't want to bother with.

She had driven by Elegant Gems several times and decided to stop in for an estimate. When she came home, she told me about this little shop on 5th with this really nice fellow that KNOWS ALOT about gems and such. He did give her an estimate of the repair and explained the issues clearly. I then decided to up the anty and surprise her with a bigger diamond, so I snuck down and met with Brent. He showed me three different options and clearly explained the different grades, handing out a very gentle re-education to loose stones. I decided on one and the ring turned out just stellar and best of all, my wife went all nuts. This was perfect on so many levels and Brent's simply the best.
