I had to pierce my ears again because my original piercing was done too low (10 years ago) I couldn't wear any hoop-earnings or heavy ones. I was pleasantly surprised that the procedure in a spa/wellness care facility. It honestly smelled like I was walking in a spa oasis. RN Rachel Smith was pleasant and spoke to us in a manner than put at at ease. She explains the procedure and the after care instructions. She marked the spot with a pen like indicator just to make sure that you are in agreement with where the hole will be placed. Then the piercing was all of 30 seconds. The only scary part was the 'clipping' sound that came from the tool. My daughter cried for about a minute or two but after I took her (her dad held her down) and showed her what she looked like in the mirror, she stopped and I swear she wouldn't stop looking at her ears!!! Upon entering the spa like atmosphere (my boyfriend could not stop raving about the aromatherapy scents) you immediately feel at ease. So grateful that I found Rachel at Clinical Ear Piercing! Her experience, knowledge and attention to detail are worth every penny. Many of the reviews here are about children but my case was different. I'm in my 50s, and the holes of my formerly-pierced ears had closed up many decades ago. Completely closed (or so it seemed). Needless to say, I could no longer wear any of my earrings so I went in to re-pierce my ears. To my surprise, upon examining my ears, Rachel (RN and owner of the business) told me that, rather than re-piercing, she wanted to try reopening my old piercings. She felt that the holes were actually still open, just that they had contracted and had formed something akin to a whitehead. Lo and behold, in just a few minutes, she reopened up all four of my former piercings! No blood, no pain, just a bit of deep cleaning and very deft hands. And, of course, lots of experience and knowledge. These were holes that were closed for decades. She also had an array of gorgeous studs for me to choose from in order to stop the holes from contracting again. She even chose the backings for each one of them (chose gold instead of stainless steel, one of the moments where her attention to detail really showed) to make sure that I had something I would be happy to wear for 2 - 3 weeks and longer. Very beautiful calming office space two blocks from the subway shop. I went there to get my piercings reopened after not wearing earrings for over 15 years due to chronic illness and allergies to earrings. I am okay with titanium and the earrings Rachel uses are beautiful and made of medical grade titanium. I was early so saw two families before me bring their children in. Not only did I hear no crying but the children were very happy afterward. I had recently gained 35 pounds this year from a medicine and wanted to do this to at least gain back some control and as Rachel so rightly said "reclaiming my femininity" after losing so much.
