My friend had stopped in for his fortune to be read and I was feeling spontaneous and went up a flight of stairs to meet Shaniya (@clowns.ink), a tattoo artist at AIT. She's a good human being who is good at what she does and coincidence didn't just bring me there, it was meant to be. The studio accommodates four artists/chairs at one time and is clean. The other staff I met there, as well as the owner (woman owned business), were equally kind. Because I walked in, spur of the moment, I chose a small, but somewhat detailed firefly to be tattooed above my ankle bone on the inside of my leg. She was quick, efficient and skilled. They were able to accommodate us as walk-ins and able to give us exactly what we wanted. Our tattoo was small and cliche but no judgements. Very clear/sterile environment, but also cozy. I was visiting NYC for Pride weekend and started contemplating something spontaneous! After a hot day walking around Manhattan, I decided to call and see if this tat shop had time for a walk in. They were super nice and welcomed me to come right over. Natalia helped me get my design perfect and got me set up quick! She got the design situated on my leg perfectly to my liking. Time to get in the chair... so the cue the nerves! The first needle poke hit and I remembered why I said I would never get a second tat! Ouch! But Natalia had a light hand and did a FANTASTIC job! After what felt like 10 minutes, I asked her if she was about 60% done and she told me it was maybe a 1/4 of the way done! The qoute of the day was "that was just the S?!" In the end, the tat came out amazing! So perfect and beautiful! Highly recommend this shop for a big piece or a quick walk in! Everyone in the shop is super nice and it is a great environment. This place was initially hard to find but we figured it out. From what I remember it was on the 3rd level. We did a walk in appointment on a Friday afternoon and didn't have to wait long. It was very nice and hygienic. My friend and I each got the tattoo pictured and each one probably only took 5-10 minutes. I'm very happy with my tattoo. We also chatted with another group getting tattoos at the same time as us and theirs were also excellent quality and pretty awesome. She has corrected mistakes made by another artist at the former studio, and has made a piece of artwork on my arm transform from something I hated looking at daily to something amazing. My entire experience at Art ink tattoo was phenomenal. I enjoyed patiently waiting in their lobby area, which provided magazines as well as water. I went into their bathroom, which if I must add was spotless washed my hands and waited for a bit. I then was given the consent form to sign, pretty standard and very clear. I then met Natalia who was the individual who tattooed me. Experience with her was absolutely amazing, and I will definitely be back for more tattoos. She made me feel extremely comfortable it was pretty painless for me. Forever and always I hear my friends voice "whatever you do never do a walk in tattoo". Though I should listen to him, I was craving new ink while staying in NYC. I couldn't be more happy and please with the result and had my friend eat his words. Let alone how cute it looks, I wasn't even aware my artist was even tattooing. They had the most gentle hand and I couldn't believe how amazing the line work and shading came out. Granted this is a character tattoo, but they really captured this character's emotions and personality and the face is my absolute favorite part. i came to this piercing shop about a week ago in a spontaneous mood to just get a quick piercing i seen online and wanted. walking in the shop seemed very nice and clean i wrote down some documents and got a medusa piercing . this lady had 0 idea what she was doing she poked me 3 times bc she wanted it centered . i was in shock but i let her because i was stunned but also i was letting her do her job. big mistake the piercing got infected and the other holes she made on my lip are scabbed i eventually took out the piercing and just have a lip full of scab it's disheartening to think i just wanted a quick piercing and got let with this . i don't recommend 0 star save yourself :/ read more

I just got a tattoo from Nyla. She was huffing and puffing from the second I opened my mouth. As I explained what I wanted she literally told me it's a pain in the ass. She wasn't being an artist or talking to me kindly about my idea. She was being very abrupt and rude unlike any other artists I've had tattoo me. My tattoo was very small, basic lines and no shading and could fit in an inch and a half block. It costed $140. Getting a tattoo is a fun and memorable experience. I look forward to sharing that with the person who permanently touches my body and I feel very disappointed in myself for not getting up and leaving the moment she said what I wanted was a pain In the ass. Tried scheduling an appointment and was told no reason to schedule and just to walk in. Took the time to travel all the way there and was told they where booked. So next time made an appointment online, again traveled whole way there and was told the person scheduled with four days advance was not there and to come back a different time. A little tip for the owner, if you want customers, ALLOW THEM TO MAKE A FREAKIN APPOINTMENT AND AND HONOR IT. read more

Good artwork by Ledja but she shaved my chest improperly and left me with a bad case of ingrown hair. She did not use any water or shaving solution, just shaved me dry so if you plan to go to her make sure you advise her to shave you properly. read more

I went to this shop looking to get a couple tattoos. I'd first like to say how clean the shop is and how welcoming and personable they are. It was also pleasantly cool during some extreme heat in New York. I was able to be tattooed by both Armando and Natalia. They are both such nice people and incredibly talented individuals. Both very communicative of the process and aftercare. It's always great to find quality tattoo artists who clearly have such an amazing talent for tattooing and Armando and Natalia are definitely it. where to begin ... so firstly this place is in a hole in the wall right next to a pizza shop 3 floors up and felt very unstable. as well as when i came in the lady in the front desk was hounding me to fill out a survey and then basically snatched the money out my hand before taking me to get the piercing . to clarify i got a nose piercing . so she put her fingers in my nose and then stabs me with the needle everything is fine . until a week later my nose is purple and oozing i tried to call and she told me to read the fine print of the survey which said i can't call to complain about any infections etc . so i go to a local piercing shop and they tell me that it was the incorrect jewelry she put in a L shaped jewelry instead of a standard corkscrew which was causing the infection and she told me to alcohol and put vaseline on it every 4 hours which the local shop told me was a bad idea . overall review 0 stars if i could terrible service ,just money hungry ! read more
