I came to Art Ink Tattoo while visiting NYC and had such a great experience with Noirviens, a Korean tattoo artist specializing in fine-line work. I brought in my NYC x Bumble and bumble inspiration, and she executed it beautifully. The lines are delicate and clean, the little pops of color came out exactly how I wanted, and she captured my inspiration really well. Also -- she was FAST AF. I was genuinely impressed by how quickly she worked while still being so precise. I paid $180 for a small fine-line tattoo with color. It was definitely pricey for the size, but honestly, I get it -- you're in the middle of NYC. I was happy with the quality and how it turned out. Another huge plus: this was one of the few tattoo shops I found that stayed open late, which was perfect for my schedule. Helpful tip if you're trying to find it: the studio is upstairs, above a psychic place and a pizza place. Very NYC. Overall, my tattoo came out beautiful, the process was super quick, and Noirviens did a fantastic job bringing my idea to life. Definitely recommend! read more

Art Ink is conveniently located above a pizza parlor and a palm reader/fortune teller. My friend had stopped in for his fortune to be read and I was feeling spontaneous and went up a flight of stairs to meet Shaniya (@clowns.ink), a tattoo artist at AIT. She's a good human being who is good at what she does and coincidence didn't just bring me there, it was meant to be. The studio accommodates four artists/chairs at one time and is clean. The other staff I met there, as well as the owner (woman owned business), were equally kind. Because I walked in, spur of the moment, I chose a small, but somewhat detailed firefly to be tattooed above my ankle bone on the inside of my leg. She was quick, efficient and skilled. If I lived in NYC, I would hire her to tattoo me again. read more

When my best friend and I travel, we always find a local tattoo shop to give us a tattoo for our trip memories! We randomly stumbled upon Art Ink Tattoo and are so glad we did! They were able to accommodate us as walk-ins and able to give us exactly what we wanted. Our tattoo was small and cliche but no judgements. Very clear/sterile environment, but also cozy. My artist showed me the needle before opening the package and I definitely appreciate that. Each artist also has their previous work on the wall so you can see who's style fits you best. Definitely recommend! Location - I felt it was easy to find. They are in a walk-up and we had to be buzzed in, but no issues finding it or getting in. read more

Great artist. If you are in New York and you are looking to get a tattoo, this is the shop to visit. I was lucky enough to get to see Ledja. She did a great job, little pain and quick. I totally recommend this place. Customer service is fantastic. It is super clean. The artist verify the image with you and make sure you are comfortable on how it looks. All of my friends who came to get a tattoo this weekend from her were beyond pleased with the result. It was about 10 of us who did and not one of them looked like it wasn't worth the price. My nephew and I started our New York overnight with matching guitar and NYC skyline tattoos. Damian did his and Felipe did mine. Both guys were kind and meticulous. I was done first and asked the owner Ledja about an old and faded eagle tattoo which she ended up fixing for me and it also came out great. We had such a positive experience at this place. I was visiting NYC for Pride weekend and started contemplating something spontaneous! After a hot day walking around Manhattan, I decided to call and see if this tat shop had time for a walk in. They were super nice and welcomed me to come right over. Natalia helped me get my design perfect and got me set up quick! She got the design situated on my leg perfectly to my liking. Time to get in the chair... so the cue the nerves! The first needle poke hit and I remembered why I said I would never get a second tat! Ouch! But Natalia had a light hand and did a FANTASTIC job! After what felt like 10 minutes, I asked her if she was about 60% done and she told me it was maybe a 1/4 of the way done! The qoute of the day was "that was just the S?!" In the end, the tat came out amazing! So perfect and beautiful! Highly recommend this shop for a big piece or a quick walk in! Everyone in the shop is super nice and it is a great environment. I was entertained(distracted) by greag conversation and lots of laughs. Overall: 10/10 Cleanliness: 10/10 Hospitality: 10/10 Customer Service: 10/10 Ignore the lame review down below. This place was initially hard to find but we figured it out. From what I remember it was on the 3rd level. We did a walk in appointment on a Friday afternoon and didn't have to wait long. It was very nice and hygienic. My friend and I each got the tattoo pictured and each one probably only took 5-10 minutes. I'm very happy with my tattoo. We also chatted with another group getting tattoos at the same time as us and theirs were also excellent quality and pretty awesome. Ledja gave me the most amazing cover up on an ugly old floral image. Best tattoo shop in NYC....$80 shop minimum is unheard of in NYC. The shop is so clean and the atmosphere is chill. The artists are amazing, I actually first met Ledja at a former studio. She has corrected mistakes made by another artist at the former studio, and has made a piece of artwork on my arm transform from something I hated looking at daily to something amazing. Thank you Ledja, I can't wait for our next session in the fall. The other artist at this studio from what I witnessed yesterday take their time, have clean lines and are very friendly. My entire experience at Art ink tattoo was phenomenal. I enjoyed patiently waiting in their lobby area, which provided magazines as well as water. I went into their bathroom, which if I must add was spotless washed my hands and waited for a bit. I then was given the consent form to sign, pretty standard and very clear. I then met Natalia who was the individual who tattooed me. Experience with her was absolutely amazing, and I will definitely be back for more tattoos. She made me feel extremely comfortable it was pretty painless for me. I appreciated the family oriented vibe of the space over all. everyone admired each other's work, it was very cooperative and collaborative environment. WILL BE BACK AGAIN! read more

My girlfriend and I both wanted simple flash tattoos for our trip to New York, we ended up a bit heading to art ink a bit sceptic due to the fact that it was off of Times Square and looks like a bit of a hole in the wall place, however, we were met with great and friendly customer service. Ledja did my tattoo and she delivered EXACTLY what I wanted, super clean lines, quick and very welcoming. Me and my friends went to New York for a recent trip and we knew we wanted tattoos. ArtInk was one of the most recommended spots when we were there. All I saw from reviews were great things in regards to good pricing, top notch artists, and good vibes. Definitely all those reviews met my expectations. Forever and always I hear my friends voice "whatever you do never do a walk in tattoo". Though I should listen to him, I was craving new ink while staying in NYC. I couldn't be more happy and please with the result and had my friend eat his words. Let alone how cute it looks, I wasn't even aware my artist was even tattooing. They had the most gentle hand and I couldn't believe how amazing the line work and shading came out. Granted this is a character tattoo, but they really captured this character's emotions and personality and the face is my absolute favorite part. The best thing about this tattoo also is as a walk in I was able to get this designed and tattooed within 2 hours. My wife and I were in NYC for a one night trip and decided to get random tattoos. We searched the shops near us and found this shop open until 12am! We called and asked if they took walk-ins and were greeted with a welcoming yes. When we arrived it was initially difficult to find the store, only due to my lack of experience in a city environment. Upon entering the store we had a welcome greeting, even though I had yet to choose a design due to my indecisive nature. I chose a drawing online, Ledja proceeded to make alterations to this design which improved the design beyond my imagination. i came to this piercing shop about a week ago in a spontaneous mood to just get a quick piercing i seen online and wanted. walking in the shop seemed very nice and clean i wrote down some documents and got a medusa piercing . this lady had 0 idea what she was doing she poked me 3 times bc she wanted it centered . i was in shock but i let her because i was stunned but also i was letting her do her job. big mistake the piercing got infected and the other holes she made on my lip are scabbed i eventually took out the piercing and just have a lip full of scab it's disheartening to think i just wanted a quick piercing and got let with this . i don't recommend 0 star save yourself :/ read more

I just got a tattoo from Nyla. She was huffing and puffing from the second I opened my mouth. As I explained what I wanted she literally told me it's a pain in the ass. She wasn't being an artist or talking to me kindly about my idea. She was being very abrupt and rude unlike any other artists I've had tattoo me. My tattoo was very small, basic lines and no shading and could fit in an inch and a half block. It costed $140. Getting a tattoo is a fun and memorable experience. I look forward to sharing that with the person who permanently touches my body and I feel very disappointed in myself for not getting up and leaving the moment she said what I wanted was a pain In the ass. The other artists seemed very nice and friendly. One of them actually walked over and was so nice about talking me through my idea/ design. read more

Tried scheduling an appointment and was told no reason to schedule and just to walk in. Took the time to travel all the way there and was told they where booked. So next time made an appointment online, again traveled whole way there and was told the person scheduled with four days advance was not there and to come back a different time. A little tip for the owner, if you want customers, ALLOW THEM TO MAKE A FREAKIN APPOINTMENT AND AND HONOR IT. read more

Good artwork by Ledja but she shaved my chest improperly and left me with a bad case of ingrown hair. She did not use any water or shaving solution, just shaved me dry so if you plan to go to her make sure you advise her to shave you properly. read more

I went to this shop looking to get a couple tattoos. I'd first like to say how clean the shop is and how welcoming and personable they are. It was also pleasantly cool during some extreme heat in New York. I was able to be tattooed by both Armando and Natalia. They are both such nice people and incredibly talented individuals. Both very communicative of the process and aftercare. It's always great to find quality tattoo artists who clearly have such an amazing talent for tattooing and Armando and Natalia are definitely it. where to begin ... so firstly this place is in a hole in the wall right next to a pizza shop 3 floors up and felt very unstable. as well as when i came in the lady in the front desk was hounding me to fill out a survey and then basically snatched the money out my hand before taking me to get the piercing . to clarify i got a nose piercing . so she put her fingers in my nose and then stabs me with the needle everything is fine . until a week later my nose is purple and oozing i tried to call and she told me to read the fine print of the survey which said i can't call to complain about any infections etc . so i go to a local piercing shop and they tell me that it was the incorrect jewelry she put in a L shaped jewelry instead of a standard corkscrew which was causing the infection and she told me to alcohol and put vaseline on it every 4 hours which the local shop told me was a bad idea . overall review 0 stars if i could terrible service ,just money hungry ! read more

Ms. Smith is thoroughly professional and competent. She spent time with me concerning my previous earlobe piercings, which had closed up over time. She went over the earrings choices with details about stones and white vs. yellow gold. I never felt rushed. I ended up purchasing two sets of lightning bolt earrings with tiny stones, one pair in each gold color. She was meticulous in positioning and marking my lobes. The actual piercing of both ears was quick and almost painless. I was given an instruction card detailing home care of the new piercings. We didn't have the original receipt and they only had the signed waivers (seriously?!?!?). We showed him the receipt where they fixed it a couple weeks ago and we weren't asked for documentation then and he still refused to perform the service without payment. We paid him the $65 and he told us to take it up with corporate (we will be) and kept saying how nice he was and we shouldn't be angry. The piercer had the nerve to want a tip after this interaction. Good luck with that! Niceness + incompetence doesn't = great customer service. Stay far away from this place.

But I feel like the price is worth it because they are super sterile, surgical-grade, extremely knowledgeable in any piercing placement, and seem like they have many years of experience, no matter which piercer you go to. They're super thorough and sterile with everything, which obviously matters most. I highly recommend and will continue to go back in the future!

Once I found MJ, I knew it was she! It was easy to schedule an initial consult over email. I had sent some examples ahead of time, but we ended up talking a lot since I seemed drawn to a lot of different styles or subjects. Ultimately, when I saw the design MJ created, it was spot on - beyond what I could have described. She totally knew how to translate my jumbled thoughts into something beautiful. My design was $2k+, and it took just under 3 hours. MJ is serious about her craft. She was very focused, not too much chitchat. She has a different healing regimen than I had heard before, but it healed incredibly well. I took advantage of the free touch up (within 6 months). It only took 10 minutes. Worth it! Pay as much as you can in cash to avoid the credit card fee. Highly recommend for geometric, organic, moody, and elegant designs.

Fortune and Love has such a welcoming vibe and aesthetic when you walk in. It feels like a great representation of both their fashion sense. From the decor, to the furniture, to the branding, you know you will have a very comfortable tattoo experience. The studio has snacks, water, coffee/tea, and a very comfortable lounge area. It's super easy to access by subway or path if coming from NJ. It's also great for a friend or partner to stop by and hang out as you are being tattooed. Both artists are fantastic with color and can take your idea and transform it into something magical. My experience is with Koral so I can speak more to her process, but have chatted with other customers who had wonderful things to say about Fortunato too. What started as a simple "mountain changing color as it progresses through the seasons" has evolved into a completely ornate and beautiful arm piece that was unlike anything my simple brain could have imagined. Her process involves conversations and examples of my experience, but at no point was there an expectation for me to give her the image to just replicate. Feeling a bond with Koral has made it an extra special experience (Love for Nature and Travel). I am currently going through a coverup on an old tattoo (changing a dragon into an octopus with scenes of arctic and tropic marine life) with Koral. I have been following Fortunato for almost a year now. I saw his work on his instagram and knew right away that he was the artist I have been searching for. The first piece Fortunato did for me was a portrait of my mom. It came out beautifully. It looks just like my mom. He also did a piece on my forearm which OMG is one of my favorite pieces. It has so much meaning in my life and he brought it to life and my heart. I had a few more pieces done by Fortunato and of course they look spectacular. My most recent portrait done by Fortunato are my boys with my Inay (grandma). My Inay has passed and my boys are now 21 & 23 years old. This is the only photo I have of them together and I'm so grateful that after many years of changing phones and deleted social media accounts I now have this photo forever. I met Koral through Fortunato and I'm happy to say I have a beautiful floral tattoo which I got for her home country of Ukraine. Koral's artwork is incredibly unique.
