I've been to this location twice. The first time, I had to wait to receive any kind of direction at the front desk because the two nurses were too busy flirting with each other. I also asked for an itemized receipt of the blood work I had done and they all but refused. They kept arguing that I wouldn't have to pay anything anyways because the insurance would cover it. Sure enough, I received a bill from CPL a few weeks later. Today I went in to get the same work done only a month after my first visit. They had no record of me ever being there or of any billing. I had to call my doctor to get the same paperwork sent over again for the tests I needed. They also had me fill out an entirely new set of my information. I do not recommend this place. Did almost a dozen samples for blood testing. Walked in right before lunch (they close for lunch), I was back in an exam room in less than 10 minutes, 1 poke, many vials of samples, no pain. The faintest of a mark on the arm later. Excellent. Side note. I left my phone in the room. They were locked for lunch but a rapped on the door and a tech quickly brought me my phone. Had to get lab work done for Dr appt. and have always used this lab. They have always been so kind to me because I'm a HUGE baby. When confirming address, name and DOB I made a mistake of agreeing to the address. The lady that did the draw said she would change it for me. Just to make sure I called today and I'm glad I did because the address was off by one number. Now, the reason for this review. Cindy in the billing department was the nicest person. I've gone here a few times for some routine labs and they're fairly efficient with shorter wait times if you make an appointment online. This last time I was butchered by the phlebotomist. I felt his hurried manner and usually they palpate for the vessel, but I trusted their training. I tracked down the manager of the branch and sent a detailed email because I thought they might want to know about my experience. I sent pictures. I didn't specifically ask for anything (an acknowledgment would have been courtesy), but only crickets. Now I know how they run their business... never again. read more

As a person who is terrified of having my blood taken, I dread having lab work done. I selected this location based on positive google reviews, and my experience was fantastic! I was able to get a walk-in appointment in the late afternoon and didn't even have to wait. The best part was Mike! I learned he used to work in pediatrics, and then pediatric oncology. As a childhood cancer survivor, I knew this meant he was trained to get a blood draw the first time, no fishing, or trying multiple veins. He did a wonderful job, it wasn't painful and I was in and out in no time! I will be going back to this location any time I need blood drawn. Thanks Mike! read more

Went to the Medical Arts Sq location. I think someone needs to tell them we are in the midst of a pandemic. I have not felt so unsafe as I did on 11/20.20. Small area for people waiting. No ability to wait outside and be called. I needed my blood drawn. I wish I could say that part was a good experience. I'd rate it to be a 6/10 on the pain scale. It wasn't the worst but it damn hurt! She probably went through a very large visible vein and hit a nerve. Even she indicated it would be an easy blood draw when she 1st saw the vein. Don't go there! When I finally sat in the chair, the phlebotomist asked me if I pass out when having blood drawn (never have), and made me look at the six vials she had on the tray. She pointed to a section of my blood work order and said "we don't know what this is." I spoke to the provider who wrote the order, and the clinic has written that order 100s of times. It requires four vials. I had waited, fasting, for well over an hour. The phlebotomist was clearly trying to get rid of me. A waste of almost two hours of my working day. I'm glad I didn't let that person stick me with a needle and over-draw my blood. read more

I had my blood drawn here and it was a great experience. The wait time was very reasonable (in and out in less than ~30 minutes) and the phlebotomist hit my vein on the first try. She had 40 years of experience! The front desk staff were also friendly. Tip: this lab is inside the "Medical Park Tower" building. It's easy to park right up front. You can pay for parking inside with a credit card or at the gate. It's very reasonable $2. Also... the image of the building in the Yelp listing looks nothing like the actual building so don't let that confuse you! read more

I've been getting bloodwork done for 10+ years and I've had one problem ever with the tech not finding a vein (maybe I was dehydrated, I don't know). I went to this CPL this morning because it's close to my job, I usually go to the one on Angus Road where I've never had an issue. I've been told I have good veins and I'm a "good bleeder", no fear of needles... so it sure does piss me off when they start fishing/digging in my arm when I know there's no reason to. I was thisclose to asking, "Do you know what you're doing?" but I kept my mouth shut. So I won't be going to this location again. read more

I lost 25lbs in 3.5 weeks and its all thanks to the foibles of this lab! I have some kind of gut problem. "What kind of gut problem would make you lose weight, hair, sleep and cognitive dissonance?!" you ask, I wish I knew! On two separate occasions, this lab messed up my tests. The first test was a stool sample for bacterial overgrowth called C-Dip. I have IBS-C meaning it is extremely hard to provide the amount of "sample" they need. Upon providing me the cups and tubes for the sample to be done at home, the staff did not advise me what or how to use them. I checked out instructions at home via Google. I called to make sure one of the cups was not for urine, she told me it was not, just for stool, she lied. I ended up provided more than needed, which nearly killed me! I had to take 3 days off work to provide "it" by wrecking my body with laxatives and then a day to recover. Within a week, I thought for sure I would have a diagnosis, get put on the right antibiotics and be on my way. Wrong! The 1st time I called the customer service line, they told me it was "pending." Two days later, I called again and they told me they messed up the order. I was brought to tears! I haven't been able to eat, at that point, I was fatigue, lost 20lbs and desperate! I spoke with a supervisor, Pedro, who told me to get a blood test instead. I insisted with him that my doc ordered a stool test knowing that I was having a problem producing the "sample" bc it was the most comprehensive way to analyze my issue, and treat it. Fine, I wont argue, I went back to provide a blood test. Long story short, they botched the blood test! They forgot that it should have been cold. To provide a blood test, I fasted for 18 hours at only 93lbs and they screwed it up! Month to date, its been 3 months since my symptoms started and Ive just now been able to recover strength to try again with providing DNA samples to see if my doc can help me. The mental anguish is indescribable. If you are desperate for answers, please convince your doc to order tests from LabCorp or Quest. These people are incompetent and I wouldn't let them go anywhere near me with a needle. read more

AVOID. The phlebotomist, Bridget Brennan, shoved the entire blood drawing needle (1.5 inches) in my arm. I actually yelped. (Unintentional pun lol). Bridget said nothing. But now thier part of village medical if you don't have insurance they refer you to CPL. I paid my doctor's office the 6.00 for the test just to find out. I got 2 bills from CPL totaling 200.00. they ran a cholesterol test even for 90.00 they are way too expensive. From 6.00 at the doctor to a 118.00 bill from CPL. When I called to set up an appointment, the staffer was rude and told me it was walk-in only. Okay, fine. The inside of the place is small, and empty when I went in mid-day on a week day. The back is only 3 tiny rooms without doors. It doesn't *feel* sanitary. The tech dropped my gauze on the floor with my blood on it and just left it there. What seemed like the 'head' staffer was literally yelling and talking down to the other staff like they were her misbehaved children. I was shocked. They were all just sitting there staring. It just seems like a totally unprofessional operation. I guess they sent my results to the lab and my provider in an appropriate time frame, all went well on that end as far as I know. I haven't been billed for it yet, so hopefully this review doesn't go down to two stars once that happens. read more

Walked in and walked right back out. When I went to check in the woman behind the desk asked if I was there for bloodwork. I told her "no, my doctor sent over a request for an allergy panel" she rolled her eyes and says "that's only by doctors request so I guess go ahead and check in and we will see if that's what they asked for." I asked if she could check the system somehow to tell me if it was sent in. I didn't want to sit and wait 30+ minutes to find out if it was sent in or not. She told me to just check in once again and have me sit. I was already apprehensive coming to this place because the ratings are so low, and they are for every location. I wish I would have read the reviews of this place before telling my doctor to send me here for blood work. It smells like cigarettes when you walk in. The lady behind the counter was barking orders at the poor nurse and the patients. There was a little old lady ahead of me and the women behind the counter started asking her personal questions in from of everyone. Is there no room to take patients into? The lab in Lakeway is nearly impossible to find. It is in the back of a strip center, and the sign, "CPL" is behind a tree. I was looking for the word "lab". BUT, once you find it, it is clean, the tech is excellent, and the fact that is is impossible to find means no one is there, so you're in and out in 5 minutes. I would give it 5 stars if I hadn't driven around for 30 minutes looking. One plus: Santa Catarina and League in that shopping center are both excellent restaurants if you had to have fasting bloodwork. And a new coffee shop is opening soon. read more

Don't waste your time with this place. I called ahead, trying to get a cost estimate, and the very unhelpful lady in billing did everything possible to not give any info. I was stonewalled at every attempt - "you need to get a code, I can't answer that, you'll have to call your insurance" etc etc. One of those types who isn't going to help you one bit. Full-on idiots. Went, signed in, waited 30 minutes to drop off son's stool sample. Rude clerk didn't make eye contact, told me to give her a form and haphazardly handled materials. Two weeks later no results, found out from my doctor that they blamed me stating that I never signed in and didn't give them a form - the form the clerk took. Now my son has to give another stool sample. I'm 90% sure they separated the form from the sample on purpose, but 100% sure they are complete imbeciles as another review stated. read more

The 4 girls that were in here working when I went were horrendous. I had 5 vials of blood drawn and was given a stool kit. I was so blown away by the ineptitude AFTER I had given blood here, I went to my normal CPL and they told me the blood was drawn wrong and I was given the wrong stool stuff. I'm sick from foreign travel and had I not mustered the energy to take it a step further, everything would have been moot and I would have had to do it all over again. AND my follow-up appt isn't for 4 weeks because the doc is going on vacation. Could you imagine if I suffered for that whole time and went in and he told me I had to redo everything and come back again in 2-4 weeks?!?!?!? This place is a joke because when you only have a benefits plan limited or insurance and it only covers not all and can't afford the bill. But when any insurance covers the bill and there's still a high balance you can't get financial assistance I take care of my disabled husband and two kids when hardly any income coming in. The staff is friendly, efficient, and professional. The office is always really clean. Even when they get busy, there is never much of a wait. Mary is great, she will bend over backwards and jump through hoops to make sure you can get your labs done, even if she has to call because your Doctor's office dropped the ball. Diane is super sweet and makes a blood draw as pleasant as possible. If your Doctor is in this building (Seton Medical Park Tower), definitely get your blood drawn here. I've repeatedly been told I should be able to go to any CPL location, but that has never worked, even when I have the order number from my Doctor. Mary gets it done every time, so I make the extra effort to go here. You don't have to pay parking if you're there less than 30 minutes. Even when there are several people ahead of me, I've never been there longer than 30 minutes. A+! read more
