No quality control from their technicians. I would find another lab to get your blood drawn.

The staff is caring and respectful. I would arrive 10 minutes before they open to get in line.

The worst managed operation because they know you don't have any other options. Always have issues and long waits when there.

To prepare for a filing I was about to make, I decided to be proactive and get a hair follicle test as a buffer for any wild accusations by my ex. Due to circumstances, it needed to be done ASAP so I could have the defense I needed. A couple weeks ago, I took off of work at the earliest possible time I could and raced to the Bee Cave location. I live/work downtown and my GPS sent me to that location. I arrived at 4:40 PM. I had no time Saturday, as again, I was working. Imagine that. I rushed in with my infant. I asked the employees to do a 5 panel hair follicle test if they were accepting walk ins still. I didn't want to be an AH. If they turned me away, I would have understood, but I had to try. They told me they could - no issue. They provided the price. It sounded like $215. Weird. It was $179 online. I chose not to argue - I needed this done ASAP to move forward with filing. My emergency trumped all in that moment and I figured I could ask questions later. Surely there would be a logical explanation. Maybe they raised their prices for walk-ins? Maybe it was just taxes. No clue. I completed the test. The techs were very kind and fast. Despite their price mess up, I still like them. They told me I'd get my results by the following Thursday. I was done in no time and able to tackle the rest of my day. Following Thursday rolls around. No test results. It also wasn't $215, it was $259. A hell of a lot more than their site advertised with no logical explanation. So I called and asked about that and the price difference. A very kind gentleman told me I was overcharged because the techs failed to ask which lab I wanted my test sent to and one lab was more pricey. I told him that was dumb - why would they assume like that. He said due to their mess up, he'd ask a manager if they could reimburse the difference and that my results would be in at the latest by the next day (Friday - a week from the initial test). I called again. Still no test results, but I was told it can take 10 business days for results. Cool - but that would be nice to know from the get go. She said she heard about me being overcharged and that that wouldn't have happened if she was working. She forwarded me to leave a voicemail for the person I previously spoke with about the reimbursement. By the next Tuesday (day of this review), I received my results and called again about the reimbursement as I heard nothing and hadn't been reimbursed for the overcharged amount. I explained the situation to the person right off the cuff. She forwarded me to someone. I explained again and was exasperated. The woman was extremely curt. I'm guessing she was the manager who had to approve the reimbursement. She said a family member died and she'd been out all the previous week. I apologized profusely, but explained all I wanted was to be reimbursed for being erroneously overcharged. She proceeded to gaslight me and make it out to be MY fault. If I didn't want to be over charged, I shouldn't have gone so late in the day! The techs shouldn't have accepted me after 4:45! The techs obviously didn't have enough time to give me my options! I was wrong the website doesn't show $179 as the test cost! But out of the goodness of her heart, she'd reimburse me for my ineptitude. Bless her heart. The thing is, the website only shows $179 for a 5 panel, so she was all wrong about that and my arrival time. As I told her, I could dispute it with my bank and 100% be reimbursed for the difference. I just wanted them to do the right thing. Apparently, accountability for overcharging a single mother isn't their forte. Maybe I shouldn't have dressed however I did that day. Maybe then they wouldn't have overcharged. If I could give the staff more stars, I would - this review is solely based off being overcharged and the treatment by the manager. Seriously, a simple apology would have been the appropriate thing to do. People go to your lab in times of duress - a little decorum goes a long way. See photos for pricing - they're more accurate than the employees can provide.

I was very specific about what blood tests I wanted to do. I was given a zero estimate, meaning my insurance would cover all the tests and I would be billed $0.00. However, I was billed $323.58 after about a week. I called the office and spoke to Lamitra(rude cust serv) Veronica(rude cust serv) and ultimately I was routed to Katie(billing/escalations/coordinator). In the most simple way, I tried to explain, to all 3 individuals, that any medical office I have ever been to in my entire life, has always told me what I will be paying out of pocket and what my insurance covers. However, at BSW, they(lamitra, veronica, katie) all told me they don't have a clue what the insurance covers and I would have to call Blue Shield myself to find out. I was dumbfounded. It's very simple, either lamitra/veronica or kaitie simply need to check my specific plan with Blue shield, see what it covers, if there is still confusion, they(lamitra, veronica or katie) would need to get blue shield on the phone and ask them specifically. Problem solved. All 3 individuals said that they "don't do that, the client(me) would have to do that". You mean every single time I go into BSW I will also need to take time out of my day to Call Blue shield, hold for 15 minutes for a rep, and discuss what they cover and what they won't?? who has time for that?? IN A NUTSHELL: PLEASE BE AWARE THAT AT BSW, YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE PAYING OUT OF POCKET BEFORE DOING ANY PROCEDURE,BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO IDEA I paid the $323.58. It wasn't about the amount, it was about the principal. YOU DONT GIVE SOMEBODY A ZERO ESTIMATE AND THEN SAY "SURPRISE, YOU STILL NEED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET". Also messaged the specific Doctor I saw that day which was Doctor Pena-Delgado. She never even replied. Do yourself a favor and go to a professional primary care facility where professionals work. Wish I could give zero stars.

Well, in 2021 I decided to do it again, only because my doctor told me it was not necessary to run these tests. I disagreed, so I called and set up the appointment. The reason I am posting here is that it appears to be the headquarters, Austin Texas, because my email said my results are on there way. Setting up appointment. Staff was pleasant. Tried to get me to sign up for additional tests but I declined because I basically had 99% of the tests done by my doctor. He quoted me a price that was $10 more than what was on my letter. I asked why and he said it was for the doctor to review and send me my results. Well, no where on the letter does it state that you have to pay this additional fee! I also said, my letter said I would get a $10 discount for being a previous client. He tried to get out of it, but I kept re-reading the statement on the letter. So I ended up paying the amount of what the amount said it would be in the letter. I think you need to correct your letter or state somewhere that there will be an additional fee for the doctor to read it and you should state if this is voluntary or not. Testing date: Appointment 12:30 PM. I arrived 15 minutes early. There were people in the waiting area but the seat to sign in was empty. I went and sat down and at 12:25 someone said, we will be with you soon. At 12:41 the man came up, took my info and took me directly into a room. This brings me to ten minutes past my appointment time. Not bad. He was not mean but I did not make me feel welcomed. No hello, how are you today, no smile, nada. Just the basic name, birth date...etc. There were two separate pieces of paper with a name, addresses and appointment time just laying out for anyone to see, so I suggested that he put them away or shred them, due to Hippa laws. He grabbed them and threw them in the trash. The first test was by the man that checked me in. The test was quick. Off to the next person, a lady with no bedside manner at all. She did her test and sent me to the chair where I waited for the next lady. Miss Margaret escorted me in within a minute. I have back issues and she gave me a pad to put under my knees. I would like to suggest that you have pillows at each station for people with bad backs. The first and second person did not have or offered to put anything under my knees. Miss Margaret was friendly, kind and I felt happy to be taking the test. All the nurses should be as kind and welcoming as Miss Margaret. I was done out the door at 1:08 PM. All in all it took 27 minutes from start to finish. Just a couple of improvements to get five stars. Test location: VFW Cedar Point, NC August 2021
