We stripped down to our undies and were provided with thick socks, slippers, beanies and fluffy mittens to protect our extremities from the frigid -145°F cryo tank. The cryo experience is 3 1/2 minutes of bitter coldness to help spike dopamine levels. I did feel great coming out! They explained that they could decrease the temperature, down to -165°F. Insane! I came to Cryo Body Works after a large hair transplant to find ways to give the follicles a little extra help in growing. I researched hyperbaric oxygen chambers and found that the fairest price by a long shot was at Cryo Body Works. I went in expecting to just purchase 5 sessions while the follicles took root, but the knowledgeable ladies up front (sorry, I forgot your names, but one of them was the fiance of the owner, I'll edit the review to include your names once I learn them again) were able to inform me on all the various ways I could improve my health with the devices they had. I signed up for a 2-month unlimited access membership for $1,300 a month, which is honestly a steal all things considered. There's really no reason not to sign up for the unlimited access membership if you're very serious about your health. I'm going to be going for the red light therapy, the hyperbaric chamber, and the various vitamin shots for now while my hair transplant heals, but once it's fully healed I will take advantage of all the amenities this place offers, especially the cryotherapy for my body aches. First, I enjoyed my membership, and the faculty member, Nicole, was always awesome! It was my encounter with the owner that will never have me support this business again. I had signed up for the jungle room membership of 250 for the month and was automatically charged for an additional month without my consent. I emailed the owner to resolve this matter and he mentioned the automatic renewal being a 2-month commitment. I explained that I was never told this, and asked for any documentation with my consent. He could not provide me with any documentation and was unwilling to offer a refund, instead immediately terminated my account and offered the option of a gift card. I continued to try and discuss other options and was baffled at his response. I was told that the receipt that was sent to my email had the information stating the 2-month renewal information and that there were signs as well. There are no signs stating this in the facility. I was told this matter was closed, and THREATENED TO TAKE IT TO LEGAL MATTERS IF I CONTACTED MY BANK. I do not deserve to be treated this way by anyone, especially by a small business owner. Went to Cryo Body Works after my wife got me a Groupon for a cryo session. Was having neck / middle back pain and was doing chiropractic care before hand...Chelsea greeted me and was so polite showing me around and very thorough in her explanation of everything to be expected. The session was an amazing experience- super clean atmosphere and I was able to pick any song to serenade the freeze session. Truly healing! Afterwards she put me on the electro magnetic pulse therapy and a day later my pain was almost all gone. I have one bad knee and sore muscles from a variety of sports. I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a try anyway. When i arrived, they went over the details with me, waiver, etc.. Joey gave me a robe and told me keep my trousers on (to avoid getting junk frostbite). After the first minute, i started shivering like crazy...makes sense because IT WAS EFFIN COLD! After what they did, 1 star is the best rating I can give. The service was ok but the staff seemed to be going through motions. The worse part was that we bought a $400+ package of sessions. But because we didn't use them in a certain time, they said they had expired and we lost all additional sessions. WOW, this makes no sense. I guess it is a scam to get your money and not have to provide services. Does this make any sense? It is not like something spoils or goes bad. Can't understand this policy but if you are planning to try Cryo, then be aware. PS we talked to some young ladies about the CBD they sell. We were looking for some that helped with sleep. This place is just cool (get it? cool!). I've had the opportunity to try a few cryo places around town and this one tops them all. I do a lot of working out at CG arena (boot camps), plus soccer and boxing, so my body is constantly under strain. While I won't say that cryo is a miracle cure, it really does help recovery and soreness after a long workout. The facilities here are clean, simple, and comfortable. The staff are always friendly and professional. When I go in for a session, it's a quick process - out within 10 minutes. You can't beat that. I haven't had a chance to try their other services but I'm keen to check them out, if they run those as well as they do the Cryo I'm sure it's pretty slick. Wow! What an absolutely fantastic find! I have had major neck problems my whole life. I found out a few years ago that have minor scoliosis and because I am 35 there is not much I can do about it. I have gone to many chiropractors, sports doctors and get massages regularly. Although a massage is great and I usually feel good that day...I am normally back to my regular pain the next day. I also have a really hard time sleeping no matter what the doctor gives me:). So, I decided to give Cryo Body Works a shot. The owner was so kind and the place is very clean and relaxing. I do not do well in cold weather so this was definitely a challenge but I was able to get through the 3 minutes and then threw the comfy robe on and relaxed on the chase lounge in my private room until I was ready to get dressed. After my session I went home and felt like a new person. I slept 8 hours straight without taking any magic pill. The swelling in my neck was gone and so was the pain. I went a week ago and I am still sleeping better than ever and my neck still feels great! Of course I will need to do this often because I will always have a curved spine, but to be able to feel normal for a week straight is the greatest gift I have received for myself in a long time! I have tried cryotherapy at another business and was looking for something in north Austin. If you ever thought about trying whole body cryotherapy this is the place to go! Cryo Body Works just opened and is state of the art. The office is extremely clean and modern. Caulen, the owner, is fantastic and enthusiastic . He explains the process and what to expect. He talks you through the experience and makes you feel at ease. The cryo sauna is the best I've seen. After a quick blood pressure check you step into the sauna with your socks, booties, and robe. The floor raises you to the appropriate level and as soon as you pass over the robe the cooling begins! Temperature drops to 240 below - Fahrenheit!! Caulen is constantly giving you feed back throughout the session. You can stop whenever you want or do the full three minutes. It really makes you feel great afterwards. I went because of knee and shoulder pain I had due to playing sports for years. I have had wonderful results and have recommended Caulen to all my family, coworkers and team mates. I have experienced so many benefits from cryotherapy (not to mention stress relief) that I have brought my 18 yr. old to try. He has some acne problems and we are eager to see how cryotherapy will help. All in all... great place to go, parking is not much of an issue. Sessions are quick, about 15 min from start to finish. You can buy single sessions or packages. Massage services are also offered but I haven't tried those. I would highly recommend Cryo Body Works for anyone looking for an alternative method to alleviate old aches and pains. Its super, super cold, not totally unbearable but well worth it! read more
