Strawberry treat for my daughter after stitches pulled. She was so excited.
    Seth T.

My daughter slipped and cut open the bottom of her chin on pool edging. I immediately called VIK complete care in Lakeway because I have a high deductible plan and I know traditional hospital ER visits would be painful. The gentleman that answered the phone was very professional. I told him my situation and he told me about their cash pay system and that my daughter's situation would fall under tier 1. The cost associated with this tier was very reasonable and I was able to get my daughter in within one minute of entry in the door. She received four stitches. she successfully held those stitches for five days in which I returned and they removed the stitches complementary. They also gave her a teddy "dog" after the stitches and then a strawberry slurpeee and stickers after she bravely took the stitches out with no pain. She is 3 and didn't even cry both during stitches and removal. The physician (Dr. Roe), the nurse (tall, nice, blonde) and EMT (nice, dark haired male) were the nicest and most professional we could have esker for and clearly loved their jobs. In fact, my daughter was willing and excited to give the nurse and the EMT a hug upon the conclusion of the visit. We will always use this facility. Top-notch service, five star for sure. We are lucky to have this facility in Lakeway, Texas.

He immediately did and told me that he had just taken his B/P with a Cuff we have and noticed his Pulse Rate was only 49 ! That alarmed me and I took it myself by Holding his Wrist. It was at 50 BPM so I asked him once he felt a little less dizzy to get up and walk quickly down our hall and back. I again took his Pulse and discovered there was really No Increase. We discussed his situation and decided to go to a local Urgent Care Facility. We originally tried another Urgent Care on RM 620 but they did Not Accept our Medicare/United Healthcare PPO insurance ! The kind young lady at the front desk advised us to go to St. David's just across the Street ! Upon Ariving at this facility we were greeted by the kind young man sitting at the front desk. Since we had not scheduled an Appointment on line he advised us to 'check-in' at the kiosk. He was then extremely helpful in taking our Personal and Insurance Information. We Only waited less than 7 Minutes and were called back by a Gentleman named Patrick. It's a Small world since my husband actually knew Patrick from a Part-time job they had both held previously. After directing us back to a clean and tidy room Patrick was very thorough with his Questions about my husbands overall health, the current medications he was taking and the problem he was experiencing. Patrick proceeded to take my husband's Temperature, Pulse Rate and Blood Pressure. Patrick knew right away that he would need to do an Electrocardiogram and he immediately came back with the EKG machine. After the Test was completed We waited just a few more minutes before David entered our room and introduced himself as the "PA" (Physicians Assistant). David is More Than Qualified, as I could quickly tell, by the way he thoroughly explained the 'Bradycardia' that showed up on the EKG my husband had just had. As they spoke my husband mentioned that he had 'forgotten' to take his Propranolol medication the morning Before so he took it Last Night and then Again this Morning ! I was Shocked and Dismayed and so was the PA, David, by my husband's remarks ! He had Overdosed himself on a 'BetaBlocker' and that was obviously the cause of his Slower Pulse rate ! After listening to my Husbands Heart and Lungs David advised my husband to wean himself off the Propranolol by taking 1/2 dosage for 1 week then 1/3 dosage for the next. Since this medication was not helping his Mild Tremor there was No Need to Continue taking it ! Thank You David, you were Very Informative and Caring towards my husband which Is Sincerely Appreciated. Unfortunately this type of Examination, Treatment and Explanation towards Patients is Not the Norm These Days !! As an RN with Years of Experience I can Highly recommend the care that was given by All Three of the gentleman who were working here on 11/14/2024 ! Thank You So Very Much for Your Care and Professionalism !

This is all the more astounding because nutrition was her undergraduate degree. She also doesn't appear to practice evidence-based medicine. After her asking me what I eat in a typical day, she asked, "Where do you get your protein?" (Ugh. The idea that protein is hard to come by is flatly wrong and severely outdated. As Dr. Nestle, chair of the NY University nutrition dept. said, *26* years ago "We never talk about protein anymore, because it's absolutely not an issue, even among children. If anything, we talk about the dangers of high-protein diets. Getting enough is simply a matter of getting enough calories." The DV/RDA is ~8% of calories from protein, while grains are ~13% protein, vegetables 23%, etc.) She then tried to tell me that I had to combine plants foods to get a complete protein. (That was an urban legend promoted by a popular 1971 book, whose author recanted ten years later. The USDA nutrient database shows that individual vegetables, grains, and beans have all essential amino acids, in higher amounts than what we need.) Finally, she said I should eat more fat. I asked if there were science to support the idea that an addition of fat to an otherwise healthy diet improves health outcomes. Her reply was like, "I've been a doctor for 20 years...." Meaning, no science. By the way, she asked why I chose her, and I said that one of her patients wrote in a review about how he was able to get off all his meds for Crohn's Disease. Dr. Ikbal replied that the patient took himself off the meds, it wasn't her doing. Anyway, after hearing so much misinformation in just a brief, limited interaction, I have to wonder what other misinformation Dr. Ikbal is operating on. If you want a physician who practices evidence-based medicine, you'll probably want to look elsewhere. UPDATE: After I left the above review, suddenly DOZENS of glowing 5-star reviews appeared within a few days, about 1/3 of which are from people not even in the Austin area, many not even in the same state, and many of whom have zero other reviews on Yelp. Yelp has understandably moved most of these to the "Reviews Not Recommended" section. Is Dr. Ikbal buying fake reviews? Draw your own conclusions.

She's reasonably priced, we've rarely had to wait more than a day to see her and in a crunch she'll make herself available by phone. One of the sweetest people you will ever meet. She's well versed in both conventional medicine and alternative approaches. He has had violent coughing fits for 6 days, some ending in vomiting, with clear mucus, and gasping for air, no fever or other symptoms. We informed Dr. Snyder of recent travel to the Big Island, where pertussis is circulating. Despite this, she refused to prescribe antibiotics. This contradicts CDC guidance for presumptive treatment and left my child and our community at risk. I told her we were switching pediatricians to someone near our home since his was almost 2 hours away so we needed something to start him on. Although the doctor was informed I was told to "follow up with one" or "go to a different hospital that does that kind of testing." No referral or concrete next step was offered. This represents not only a failure to act on clear CDC guidance, but also a failure to ensure appropriate continuity of care for a symptomatic, unvaccinated minor. While I can appreciate that she is a doctor that doesnt just throw antibiotics at children, this is a different case, and the fact that my son isn't vaccinated should have been treated more seriously. This would have been his second ever antibiotic but because we are with him and know this cough isnt normal we felt the antibiotic would be a smart choice. I called her again and she still refused. There's the main hospital which is quite large, and across the drive is a tall building that houses all of the specialty clinic offices (i.e., cardiology, obgyn, colorectal surgeon, GIs, etc). A complete renovation of the interior was completed during Covid when the clinics were closed. It's all bright, shiny and new, and now all the check in counters are on each side of a very wide long hallway on every floor. I really like all of the physicians and NPs that I see. It has taken me over six years to build my medical team and several of them are part of BSW. My favorite by far is my cardiologist. My least "dreaded" appointment to attend. Would be five stars, but a few things to note: like a few others have said, scheduling can be a bit of a nightmare at times. There's a central line you must call if you are unable to schedule through your patient portal (which is most often the case). I really wish I had the ability to contact each physician's office separately to speak to the schedulers who I personally know. And yes, some specialists are booked months out, sometimes into the following year. The specialty clinics appear to be understaffed. The parking garage is also not very convenient. It is located a little far away, and is not idea for someone with limited mobility. I have an inpatient procedure coming in the future, so I will be able to give an updated review of my experience at that time. Wish me luck!

I truly feel heard, supported, and cared for by her -- and that's rare, especially in ADHD care. I'm so grateful for her! That said, this review is three stars because of the front office staff. I've only had two phone interactions with the office since returning to care, and unfortunately, both were unnecessarily rude and condescending. The first was regarding a same day schedule change the office requested less than an hour before my appointment. When I couldn't accommodate the new time due to work, I was met with clear frustration and no flexibility. So I just made it work anyway. The second happened today: I had a virtual appointment this morning, and moments ago received a phone call demanding immediate payment -- not just for today's appointment, but also for one from a month ago that I hadn't even been notified about until just an hour earlier from my insurance. When I asked if I could pay through the portal, I was repeatedly pressured to pay over the phone instead, as if I was avoiding the bill. I have no issue paying my bill, and in fact, I paid it immediately after the call ended. But I was spoken to as if I had ignored multiple invoices, and the tone felt aggressive and was incredibly inappropriate. I understand that medical offices deal with difficult patients all the time. But kindness should be the standard, not the exception, especially when both phone calls I've had with your office staff have left a bad taste in my mouth. Thankfully, Dr. Ince makes it worth continuing care. But I'm genuinely relieved that my appointments are virtual, because based on how I've been treated, I have no desire to deal with this staff in person.
