Firstly I'd like to start off by saying I adore Clinton Hall and their insane waffles and amazing service at both the FiDi and Williamsburg locations. Here, however, the service left MUCH to be desired thanks to Ivan. I understand my cousins and I are on the younger side and it was 7 of us, meaning autograt of 20%. That's fair, I think it should be 20% regardless of party size. I guess looking younger meant absolutely no service or being shrugged off. This was a slow night and multiple servers, so not much room for excuses. Every time we tried to flag him down he completely ignored us. He told us our order was in the window and just didn't bring it. We had to ask for the check multiple times. We noticed that as soon as visibly older people were sat in his section he was highly attentive, so he was definitely capable of that. By the end we were so absolutely disappointed in the service that we didn't even eat our waffle (also because he didn't bring us cutlery or dishes) and I just boxed it up with my hands. To be fair, he DID bring us to go boxes for us to box up our food. All in all: Clinton Hill is awesome, just not this location. Clinton Hall never disappoints. The food is always on point and Erick is the best server/bartender you can ask for. You come in and he makes you feel like you've been here a million times before. A friend of mine heard about this beer hall and we decided to head down this Sunday afternoon. AMAZING!!!! The beer, the food and most importantly our new bestie Erik!!!! Erik was super patient with my indecisive friends as they tried every beer in the place . He is really the epitome of "great service with a smile "! Located in the Bronx's Belmont neighborhood (also known as Little Italy), Clinton Hall BX is the newest addition to the local foodie and beer scene. My first impression was the amazing and colorful mural they have outside. Inside, you'll notice a pretty large seating area and decent bar. I always love places that pay attention to the little details like the lighting and extra large board games. It looks like a pretty cool place to come with a group of friends and have a good time. I'm sure they're targeting the local Fordham University students. What you really want to come here for is the beer! They have a great selection of some popular and local brews (Brooklyn Brewery, Gun Hill Brewery, etc.) as well as some micro brews. But what you'll really want to try is some of their super rare brews. Personally, I'm not a beer person but I will admit this was delicious. The one I tried tasted like florals. The server was nice enough to walk me through their menu, ask me about my personal taste preferences, make a couple of suggestions and kindly let me taste them. It was enough for a flight of beer so that was cool. I also tried their bratwursts (sp?) with fries and they were pretty decent. Everything was fresh and tasted like high quality meat. Let me start off by saying this place does not have any kind of to-go menu. They don't have any WTF Waffles which is a disappointment. INITAL WALK IN: Me and my girlfriend went inside Clinton Hall BX after my instagram being flooded with great shots of burgers and fries etc. we initially wanted to order take out but was force to eat in because they did not have a to-go menu. You basically come inside and pick a place where you wanna. You may also need to move giant puzzles or games which are spread out on top of the tables. After you sit the cool waiter comes and ask if you like anything to drink and we of course was in no mood for drinks so a coke and water will do. The water comes in this cute glass bottle along with plastic cups to serve yourself. WHAT I ATE: Great time for order so I got the BOOGIEDOWN/CLINTONHALL BURGER which was a mixture of chicken sandwich and a burger mix together to make one burger. She had the CLINTON HALL CLASSIC BURGER which is a regular burger with swiss cheese and Caramelized onions on a potato bun. HOW IT TASTE: The BOOGIEDOWN/CLINTONHALL BURGER was OK. Nothing special nothing crazy nothing that pops out at you except the BBQ sauce it comes with. The bottom of my burger where the bun is was all wet. I mean I could not hold the burger together after two bites because I had to fight it to keep it together. Bottom bun was all soggy, ripping apart with the slightest of touch. The burger was a disaster with it being super messy and tasteless. The chicken top was pretty good. I'll get back to the chicken part. CLINTON HALL CLASSIC BURGER again was OK. Nothing special nothing popped out. The meat had no flavor whatsoever maybe that's why they add the "Clinton hall sauce" which is similar to mayo n ketchup mixture. My girlfriend and I asked for the burger to please be cooked well done and that's another failure. Meat was cooked medium and was another disaster. The bottom of the bun was soggy/not edible, similar to pouring water on a peace of bread and trying to eat it. Just nasty. My girlfriend actually took out the whole patty out which was almost raw/medium and substituted it with my top portion of my burger which was chicken. So she had a Ghetto chicken sandwich haha. Probably the best part of the whole meal so I do recommend the chicken anything. PARMESAN FRENCH FRIES are nothing to be exited about. The fries are not hand cut and they are not the best you will ever have. They are below average fries you could buy at your local supermarket and the Parmesan they added was more like the one you would buy in the supermarket to make a quesadilla or add it on a lasagna.disappointing. SODA is not what you wanna order here. It is flat, taste like old soda you leave in a cup for days. I mean the place just opened up so I'm thinking the soda is gonna be A1(perfect) but it was not. I would of been better off buying 50¢ pop rock soda from the corner store than drinking the soda from there it was that bad. Horrible. ATMOSTPHERE: Great place to go chill have a drink watch a game you know anything you can do in a bar you can do here. Good music. Great wait staff and great people. Manager is also a great person and if your not happy with anything they will fix it or tell you to come back and give them another try (which is what they told me) but I'll pass. SUMMARY: If your in the Bronx looking for a place to chill and have a bear then this place is for you. From having different tv's to watch any games to board and puzzle games you can play and kill time. The food is a hit or miss depending what you get from the menu and your appetite and what you consider to be good. Clinton Hall is such a great space for friends, classmates, or colleagues to grab a bite or drinks, play games, and just chill. I would bring a date here to ease the anxiety. Taboo, Jumbo Uno cards, and Dominoes? Let's play! I love the indoor and outdoor seating complete with the synthetic grass. Their menu was simple, featuring all of the essentials like wings, burgers, and fries for under $20. The drinks menu was pretty good too. With help from our server, Harry, I ordered a cider for the first time ever. He is such a resource and attentive to customers. I had the wings, which were great. I dabbled with the hottest sauce but preferred dining on the mild side. Such a cool place to really just kick back and relax. We lost track of time because we had so much fun. How is it possible that my husband and I didn't know about Clinton Hall? We met some people at Gun Hill who suggested we go to Clinton Hall for dinner. Clinton what? We shrugged our shoulders and said let's go! And we're glad we did! The space is average size with picnic type tables throughout with seating at the bar. They have a decent menu of both beer and food. My husband attempted the food "challenge" which consisted of three bacon cheeseburgers, a tray full of fries, some onion rings, pickle and pint of beer. (I was the one who initated him taking on this challenge when in reality I should have discouraged it) Oh, the food won. It was too much even for him, so he wound up paying ONLY $35. The burgers were delicious. I had a bunless Clinton Hall burger which included a yummy horseradish sauce. The fries were okay, nothing to write home about. There is a nice variety of games to choose from (we played the giant Connect Four). Two small issues: Other than the cidar, they didn't have gluten-free beer. I wish more places like this sold GF bottles if not on tap. Lastly, service was slow. We found ourselves going to the bar several times asking for the waiter. I am SO happy to have found this spot! Not only is it conveniently located 10min walking distance from the N.Y. Botanical Gardens, but they also have the absolute best burgers in the BX hands down!! I really wish we had more places like this in my borough. The food is fresh, draft beers are nice and crisp, and the service was fantastic! Keep in mind that this place is targeted towards the college students (Fordham University); so it does get busy pretty quick. And around the evening it gets rather noisy. If you're looking for a nice spot to have lunch and converse this is the place! I just suggest coming in the early afternoon. It was quiet Wednesday, a couple of tables with college kids, so we felt cool until we saw a couple with their newborn who reminded us of the one we left at home. #realitycheck Pros: -Good music -Fun supersized board games -Friendly staff -Good Beer selection -Cool food selection esp for the Bronx -Condiments -All in all nice atmosphere Cons: -Poor execution of the food :( -The seats aren't the most comfortable think small benches and metal stools -Handicapped restroom was out of order although appreciated that there was one I had a Grilled Cheese Cheeseburger which was delicious, perfectly crunchy, definitely recommend. He had the Sour Cream and Chive Grilled Cheese Doughnut with potato soup which although tasty was underwhelming. Unfortunately the cheese was not melted at all the way we expected it to be based on the instagram and yelp posts. We had the S'mores Waffle which broke my heart because I love S'mores and I love waffles. The idea is amazing but it was seriously lacking. The waffles were extremely underdone and tasted of pure raw pancake batter which was pretty gross. The marshmallows weren't roasted at all just lightly torched, cold, and hard. I was very excited to go to Clinton but it was not what I expected, at all. We decided to go this past Sunday around 3pm, so the place was pretty empty which did not bother me. First and foremost, why don't they have a printed beer/cocktail menu? When we asked for one we were guided to a TV screen that was situated extremely high on the wall (hope you don't have a neck brace on b/c you won't be able to see the menu). We had to get up from our seats and walk over to this screen which was extremely inconvenient. I could imagine the madness in this place when it's packed with people. They should not have a customer walk over when a simple piece of paper would do. The beer menu...talk about lack of variety. You're basically choosing between heavy IPAs or hoppy beers. I am light beer drinker and prefer less of a hoppy beer so I basically stuck to seltzer water. Their selection does not cater to ALL beer drinkers. The food...it was OK. For the appetizer, I ordered the happy hour size wings and a cheeseburger empanada. The wings and empanada, especially the empanada, lacked flavor. I had to dip the empanada in the bbq sauce and add salt to get some type of taste. I then ordered the BACON BACON BACON burger with fondue waffle fries. The burger was messy but it surprisingly had more favor then the burger empanada. The fondue cheese was on the saltier side for my taste so I didn't finish them. The service can definitely be improved. First, we asked for samples of the beers the waiter had suggested to us and he told us that we had to go to the bar so that he can serve us samples. This is the first time I've heard a waiter ask a customer to meet him at the bar for samples of beers he's suggesting. Samples are normally brought out to seated customers. Next, my order came out wrong so I had to wait longer for it to be corrected while the rest of my party enjoyed their meals. This is a great addition to Little Italy on Arthur Ave. The mural outside is absolutely wonderful and inviting, very good move on their side. When you go in you instantly get the feel of a nice college bar. They have a lot of games, including giant jenga. The selection of draft beers is pretty impressive and they apparently change it pretty frequently. They also will let you taste different beers if you're not sure what you want. We ordered a variety of food, which overall was good. The brussels sprouts were undercooked but when we said something about it they brought us a new portion and they were delicious. The staff is incredibly nice! This bar definitely deserves at least 4 stars! read more

I've gone here many times. But I get the best service whenever the server Kevin or the Spanish dude is around. Normally if he's not in I check out and go to my 2nd choice. Partly because no other server knows how to juggle 11 tables plus the bar accordingly. When this place gets packed, or even when it's slow, the others normally drop the ball on that. Aside from that let's begin with their atmosphere. It's primarily college kids yelling over each other to a classic rock station curated by pandora or something. They attempted to do a board game library but ultimately fails. I love the idea but the pieces are missing in almost all of the games. They even stopped the giant Jenga and glued them to make a weird artifact. The amount of beer options is incredible. But most of the time they are out of most of them. But when they have 100% available it's definitely a beautiful thing. The food is a let down. Solely because they removed some very very interesting menu items and instead catered to a more fast food quick set of option eg; wings, maybe a quesadilla, a burger. But I have to call a spade a spade and say the little options of food they decided to keep is hands down always pretty solid. Nonetheless, give this place a try. I've been meaning to check out Clinton Hall for almost a year after hearing it had opened near my old school. Finally got to eat here and I was not let down. We got a mystery beer bucket, which consisted of 5 beers for $25, which is a decent deal. I got the duck burger and it was delicious! Great quality meat, and the fries are delicious. Shoe-string style. My partner got the Fondue burger. Let me explain this thing: it's a regular burger with a hole cut in the top that is filled with liquid cheese. Decided to go to this place because it was all over Instagram. They have multiple locations but I decided to check out the one in the Bronx. Firstly they do not offer everything from the menu at this location. Options are very limited. They do not do any of the cocktails from there menu. I started off with the wings and I do not recommend. The texture was too soft, they needed some crisp to them. Taste like they just came out of the freezer. My boyfriend and I wanted to order the hashtag burger but again they didn't have it at this site. Not to crazy about the burgers either, just regular. The fries also seemed that they needed to be cooked some more as well. We did order a tequila sunrise and Tito's/pineapple, which was the best part of our meal. I've visited a couple of times and my review stands. The drinks here SUCK! extremely overpriced. $16. Mind you they don't even have the ingredients for their cocktails but they'll charge you for a basic drink the same amount. It's absurd. I'm sure the Manhattan location is above this one and it's a shame Bronx residents deserve quality! Some of the food is good like the sliders, but stay away from their chicken. Two bites in and I knew something was off. It was like they took it out the freezer and fried it quickly, it tasted awful. Got sick the next morning. The ambience is the only thing I like it's usually very quiet throughout the weekday but the music is god awful. Music a white step dad would listen to. They need new bartenders, servers (the girl looked super annoyed bo friendly vibes at all) and chefs, I really hope the manager sees this bc this spot can be fantastic, also this is for the weekday staff I don't k is what this place looks like on a weekend . Love the ample selection of craft beers! Each drink has its own personality; they're all very different! From taste to texture--some are tart and some are nice and sweet just the way I like them. My favorite one is the apple craft beer! The passion fruit one is quite refreshing as well but more on the tart side. It was definitely a treat trying a lot of them! We also ordered the Fondue Burger and the Trufle Fries and WOW! It was still so damn juicy and flavorful even though we ordered it well-done. The Trufle fries was topped with Parmesan cheese and herbs, ultra crispy and had the perfect crunchy-outer to mushy-middle ratio. I could have sworn I was already full but I couldn't say no to the Methadonuts. I seriously grew a second stomach just for dessert. It was these warm gooey little injectable munchkins. They serve the fried little dough pieces in a little basket with syringes filled with Nutella, berry jam, and caramel. You can either drizzle the contents of the syringe all over or inject it into the center for the full experience! Whatever floats your boat, but by God! That was quite fun and a delicious finisher! Overall, the service is awesome! The staff is genuinely friendly and accommodating; even offered us to stow our bikes inside since they noticed we forgot our chains!
