Clinton Hall has been on my list for awhile now, I finally made it to the near the South Seaport and my experience was wonderful, it was a random Tuesday after work and the servers was soooo helpful. Ok, went here a couple no of weeks ago because I was craving a good burger. Found this one on Yelp and saw good reviews. I had the bacon cheeseburger and Darryl had the burger with the hole filled with cheese (can't remember the name of it). We enjoyed the taste of the burgers but was not impressed with the size. This was my first time going to this location in the Bronx. I did hear so many raving reviews from friends. I wasn't impressed with the menu or service. The games were a bit abandoned and mistreated. The place could use different seating. The tables are in a bench style like old school cafeterias, so it's hard to know who is with who. If the place had more upkeep with the board games and a different seating arrangement it would be an ideal after work or game night place. There weren't many servers so the wait can seem long if you're hungry. read more

First, the bartender wouldn't keep our tabs open cause he wanted us all to order from the server. Fine. The bartender didn't smile once and seemed bothered every time I ordered from him. A good attitude goes a long way. Then the server said she couldn't split checks and she had to see if she was "allowed"... Okay, then why not let us just have our own tabs? It would have been easier on all parties. Next, great selection of games!!! However- be prepared for an eyeroll (from the lovely server) if you're playing them on the table. Came here with some friends for brunch and come to find out they don't serve brunch items. We requested the grilled cheese and they were out of it although we got there close to opening. This place seem more catered to local college students. Maybe I'll try coming at another time in the evening for a bar experience. They have large tables, TVs for sports, and games to play. We sat at the bar and got 2+ hours worth of fantastic service from Chris. After quite a few drinks from the vast beer list, we indulged in the "dangerously addictive doughnuts" dessert. OMG! how fun! (When I passed the place a month ago, it was a Friday night, and it was definitely Fordham kid central.) Arthur Avenue is about a 20 minute walk from my building, so I'm not over here all the time, but this place will be a draw for me, for sure. PS Not sure why this is listed as a Beer Garden. Saw all the pictures of the life-size games, and was looking forward to it. The place was empty and when we asked for the games, we were told that they no longer had them. We got some sticky overused Uno cards that I didn't dare touch. We settle for some life-size dominoes but were short-lived as a family of three sat next to us and their daughter wanted to build a castle. The bartender was very friendly talked beer with us for a while. The food, completely unimpressed. The hot chicken wasn't hot, tasted like a frozen food chicken product. This is probably the best burger place I have ever been to. The fondue burger was cooked perfectly and so tasty. The extra cheese they give is perfect and gave me the ability to make cheese fries. Which who doesn't love to do that?! Our server was more than helpful and helped us choose what to eat and drink since it was our first time there. They had games on the table which kept us busy and it's a very laid back place. The chorizo burger was also amazing and cooked to perfection. I also really loved their list of different kinds of beer with detailed descriptions on the menu, that way you can read & have a good idea of what you might want rather than asking the waiter 100 questions. This is a casual beer bar so the food they offer-in our case some french fries and okay buffalo wings. Just don't order their beets salad, it just tasted like beets out of can. I think this establishment has potential to kick ass if some things are changed since the concept and their beer selections are exciting. The biggest issue was the service (all of my past 3 visits) where we literally had to get up to grab the waiter's attention. In all of those times, the place was half empty but slowest service. We found the waiter playing with his phone by the kitchen corner most of the night. While it is a laid back casual concept bar, the service should be fast and attentive so the customers can actually relax without getting up to look for a waiter! I really enjoyed trying out different beer there (the bartender who let us do little tasting before ordering was a big plus so we can decide). I visit Clinton Hall a few times a month to have one of the yummy craft beers on tap, happy hour snack and chat with my favorite bartender Ivan. From the very first time he served me he learned my name and made small talk. I've never been the type to have a local watering hole, nor have I ever been a regular at a bar, but Ivan really makes it a joy to come back week after week. read more

I got the sliders on happy hour menu for $9 and a margarita $5 each prepared by Kevin which I must say I really enjoyed. Kevin is the bartender but he was also our waiter and he was very accommodating. The music playing was not the kind of music I usually listen to and I would have preferred other music playing. I have so many great things to say about this place I don't know where to begin..... the place was clean and neat when, we arrived we were greeted by an extremely handsome and charismatic gentleman who I can only assume is the owner. He directed me to a table and introduce me to my server. When our server arrived he went of all the beers with us (20 of them!) and offered us a couple samples because I wasn't sure what I would like. I forgot which beer I ordered but do remember it was an IPA. I didn't care for IPAs until I tried one i liked here. It was juicy, floral and I didn't mind the bitterness because of how sweet the delicious Crystal Methadonuts were. Those were a real treat. The burgers looked amazing, same with the fries and wings. It would be great if they would take it out of the menu so that when people check for the location they don't come here thinking that they have it.
