I took my 1 year old lawn mower there be cause I couldn't get my lawn mower to start. I had only used it a few times. It took the owner from 5/7 to 5/22/24 after a phone call to see if it was ready. The owner presented me a bill $160, plus the $60. I left on day I left my lawn mower. When I as what did he do to the lawn mower, he brings out a rusted blade and old motor oil, dirty filter. These item did not belong to the lawn motor I brought in. Don't take you Lawn Mower to this establishment. Also he had a time trying to find it. read more

I called to see how backed up they were before I deciding to come in and to my surprise I was able to come in and wait. In the spring most repair shops for mowers average about a three week wait and you might be tempted just to go out and get a new machine. The service was friendly and swift. The staff all practiced social distancing , many wore gloves and masks. I Would have rated them higher, they have a sign on the gate stating that they open up at 9am but they open at 8am. I was under the impression that they opened at 7am and arrived early read the sign went back home to arrive at 9am. If the sign was correct I would have stayed. I only had a blade replaced, so when you come with the part it's quicker. I would return without hesitation. Just call ahead not to be disappointed if the wait is longer. read more

My lawn mower stopped working last summer (July 2016) so I researched repair shops and decided Clinton Lawn Mower was the right place for the service I needed. It's a no frills shop which is fine. The staff were friendly enough and responsive. After a discussion and quick check of my mower they suggested I go with basic maintenance option. I went with that option. When I picked up my mower it had some pretty deep scratches on top that weren't there before, but to didn't care...it's a lawn mower not a brand new car. The mower worked fine for about a month. Then at around day 50 it wouldn't start again. At this point I was past the 30 day warranty mark.... I put it in my shed and borrowed neighbors mowers for the rest of the season. Its April 2017 and mowing season has begun. And I figured I'd have to buy a mower.... My friend suggested I let him take a look at it before I purchased a new one. What he found was that the carburetor was all gunked up. He cleaned some of the goop out and low and behold it works again. So even though EVERY YouTube video on lawnmower repair suggests that you first clean the carburetor....the folks at Clinton Lawn Mower failed to do that. And as a result my mower stopped working within 2 months after they serviced it. That's bad service....and a bum deal. They need to do better. read more

Terrible place I had to pay $170 upfront for them to pick up my riding mower. The guy came with his truck and didn't want to pick it up twice after I told them that the tires were flat. He said that he needed another guy to help him so he left and came back alone again stating that he didn't want to lose money to pull another guy off a job. I live less then 5 miles from this place it is a 20 min pick up. If you offer a pick up service you should also state your stipulations. I will never come here to recommend to people! read more

This place is the absolute worst. I was told they would contact me 7-10 business days. I put a $45 deposit down for inspection. Approximately 2 weeks later they contacted me via email and said they had done $45 more inspection work without my consent to further investigate the issue. I didn't like that at all. They also said they had given me a call and I didn't respond so they added storage fees. I received and email with the extra $45 and storage fees. What a ripoff. Here's the kicker...my power washer still doesn't work! This is a legit consumer warning. Avoid this place. read more

This place is a ripoff. My friend and I went into their searching for a snowblower. We picked the one we wanted and asked the price. The salesman said around $1760 which was the going price in the area. I told him that I would be back to get it. When I returned to pick it up, they took it in the back to add the fluids and check it out for problems. After about five minutes, the salesman returned to inform me that that his boss wants $2600 for the same snowblower. We walked out with a disgusted look on our faces. read more

I've gone there twice and never had an issue with them. On both occasions they have been very professional and very helpful. The first time I went to them I hit a rock and dented my blade they took care of it. They also recommended for my machine that I put a higher grade of gas in it because using a low grade of gas caused sluggish starts or for it not to start at all. I had been having issues with starting and as soon as I did that I never had an issue again. 1 pull..the most 2 that's it. Also he said to either drain the gas out after the season or get a gas stabilizer...because gas left in after the season causes issues to the carburetor down the road. I also had a flat, I bought another tire, they mounted it and inflated it for a reasonable price. Only issue I have is their parking is very limited...other than that, I've had only good experiences with them. read more

Please, please, please do not take your equipment of any kind to this place. This place is run by an ignorant old man with the worst customer service I have ever encountered. I took my ride-on lawn mower there and it took them 2 months to respond when clearly the service agreement says 3 to 5 days. They said my machine needed all kinds of repairs when another reputable place said I didn't need any of the stuff they claimed I needed. Also, this place charged me for service they did not perform. The claimed to have changed my oil and cleaned my carburetor when clearly they didn't. If I told my best friend about this place, I'd say: not only would I tell a good friend, but anyone that I know, don't take your equipment to this place. read more

Poor customer service. Attempted to purchase parts for a ride along mower and was given the part number. Called back and placed the order. Then received a call from them stating that the part number given to me BY THE PERSON IN THE PARTS DEPARTMENT was wrong. He stated that he called the Toro rep and gave them my make and serial and told me that was not a Toro model. Funny that I just went on to Toro's web site and find both the Modle GIVEN TO THEM and the Serial number range. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I dropped off my lawnmower and they told us it cost $35 to asses the machine and make a recommendation. That took 2 weeks! When we went back to get a status they told us they assessed it, ordered the part and it would be ready shortly thereafter. I left for vacation and returned to a phone message that said call us so that we can NOW tell you whats wrong with the machine. They told me lawnmower needed a new engine. So I asked them how we went from a diagnosis that would have costed me $36 additional $$ to a new engine. Not only was the owner TERRIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL and INCOMPETENT but so was his staff. After becoming terribly frustrated with their level of stupidity, I decided to just pay the cost of a pull switch take my lawnmower someplace else. Thats when it really got ugly. The owner said he would NOT return it to me untile after he took off the part his staff said needed to be replaced citing he wasn't going to give it away. I asked him what part of my payment was missed in the statement and if he was refusing to do return the machine to me to put it in writing so I could further proceed with my legal proceedings. Needless to say, he begrudgingly complied with my request. I wouldn't recommend anyone taking anything to this establishment. I wouldn't give them 1 star!!! read more

They lost a customer with me. Never going to this greedy, shoddy, customer hating place again! I dropped off my machine several weeks ago and was given a quote. Got a call 4 days ago that I had 5 days to pick it up or I would be charged a storage fee. So I promptly go in and was hit with a $60 storage fee on top of my bill! They claim they called me on 11/28 to pick it up. NO ONE called to leave a message, much less talked to me in person as they claimed. PLUS, they claim they tried to email me as well. Never got the email notice either even tho it was clearly written on the ticket. The owner AND his staff were most discourteous and unprofessional. A little on the dumb side, too. I'd been to this shop many times over the last couple of years, and the owner rather lose the lifetime value of a customer over a measly $60. This company has bad service. They will keep you on hold for long periods of time before getting back to you; you get the feeling they want you to hang up. I took my lawn mower here for service; they did the work which was pricey. I had to follow-up to find out when the mower was ready, hence the long hold times. On the first use, the mower started to smoke and spill oil then it cut off. Took it back which was very inconvenient as I had to find a vehicle where it would fit and...Same thing happened. Took it back, (they don't give refunds); they looked at it and told my son that it was due to someone tipping the mower to the side. That never happened. They started to discuss additional charge, but we weren't having that. My sons waited while they repaired the oil tank - missing gasket. Hoping it works this time, but I'll never go back. They are rude and inconsiderate and lacking in customer service skills. You just lost all of my tune-ups and fix it jobs...and at your prices that's considerable. read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY!!! I dropped off lawn mower for repair in November 2016. I was told that I would hear something within 15 days. When I finally heard back, I will informed that the repair would require ordering parts and they would contact me once the repairs were done. After several weeks, I noticed that I had not heard anything. When I called to inquire, they claimed that they had attempted to call one time and my voice mail was full. If that were true, why only one phone call? At that point, they informed me that they had assessed almost a month's worth of late fees. I could not believe what I was hearing. Had I been informed that the lawn mower was ready, I would have quickly gone to pick it up. Their communication is poor and I am warning EVERYONE to avoid this company at all costs. They are a low level operation and need to be exposed for their poor communication and uncover extended storage hustle. read more
