bacon cheeseburger
Barbecutioner K.

Pretty decent little diner. Good service and cool vibe, classic counter top seating along with tables and some cool old pictures of Binghamton on the walls, as well as some 50's throwback signs. For breakfast I've had pancakes, home fries, and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The pancakes were very good, they had a great texture, they were soft and fluffy and they were very filling. the home fries had a good flavor but the ones I got needed to be cooked longer, they were a little tough. the breakfast sandwich was good but i've had better, the bread overpowered everything but the bacon on it was really good. For lunch I've had the bacon cheeseburger here as well as the chilli dogs. the burger was just ok. again, the bacon on it was great, but the bun was just an average burger bun you can get in an 8 pack at the store, and there was nothing on it, i was expecting mayo, lettuce, and tomato. the chilli on the dogs had a good flavor but the actual dogs were just ok. There was a special for 2 dogs and fries for about $6 i think, which was worth it, but the fries were nothing special, they were pretty limp, not crisp at all. Id give the breakfast a 4 and lunch a 3, so overall a 3 and a half rating. nothing amazing but you'll get a satisfying meal.

Thoughts of proprietor Steve's home fries (onions or not) and the hometown, neighborhood atmosphere get me out of bed early.

Very happy to have discovered this gem! I stopped here for lunch with my dad just after they opened…read moreat 11:30 am Thursday. It was quiet when we arrived, but more customers were streaming in by the time we left, many of whom seemed to be regulars and have a good relationship with the staff. Our waitress and the other staff were all really sweet. Besides their food menu, which caters to a variety of tastes and diets, they also have a cocktail menu, and extensive wine and tea menus. I really like that they can do lattes made to order (hot or iced, sweet or unsweetened) with any of the teas they offer - I got a tea latte with the Chocolate Cream Truffles tea. It was very pretty to look at (topped with foam and dusted with cocoa powder) and also tasted nice and smooth. My Tempeh Reuben and side of Kale Slaw were so good! All the individual components of the sandwich were tasty and together they were perfectly balanced. I was just so excited to see this on the menu because I love the Swiss cheese/kraut/sauce combination of the traditional Reuben but can't have the meat, so I was very happy to be able to enjoy it with tempeh. I had a taste of my dad's vegetarian chili too. It was very tasty and a little sweeter than most chilis which was interesting. I had a vegan chocolate cupcake for dessert. This was less "interesting" than the rest of the food I got but still good. The shredded coconut on top was a nice touch. Definitely a place I'd visit again! They also have dinner specials and occasional special brunches which I'd love to check out sometime.

I like this place. Lots of vegan options. Good coffee. Cute vibe. Friendly service. Affordable.read more
