Should've left a review sooner! I've been SO lucky to have rocks hit my windshield in a span of 6 months :/ Initially heard about Chips & Cracks Windshield Repair by word of mouth. Can't get a quote as good as this place anywhere else ($20 if chipped & $30 if cracked). Although there's a line most of the time, each job takes about 10-15 minutes per car. Clint is super friendly and he'll assess the damage before actually fixing anything. A big rock hit the bottom of my windshield at high speed while driving along the feeder. Initially thought I had to replace the windshield, but I brought my car soon enough to stop further damage. Although there's a residual chip/crack, he saved me from having to replace my entire windshield. THANK YOU Clint. 2nd time, my windshield got a smaller chip. The repair location was out of the way, but still made an effort to get my car there. I trust Clint to get the job the done. I went to have a rock chip in my windshield checked and Clint was honest and straight forward. He said it had already been repaired and it shouldn't be a problem. He also checked a few other tiny dings in the windshield. He said they were not a problem. He could have maid some $ off of me but did not sell anything that wasn't needed. read more

Two cracks fixed in about five minutes for a really good value. No appointment needed. I just showed up and shortly drove off with a fixed windshield. I'm happy with the results. You'll always find a little bit of residual after the repair and the ones left were minor. The sooner you repair certain cracks, the cleaner it'll look because less contaminants are introduced. The location is convenient but the lot is small. You have to turn into the lot from Fondren instead of Westhiemer. It's basically a one lane parking lot. His shop is a large umbrella and tool chest. Clint seems like a nice guy and honest. I asked about another crack I wanted to fix and he told me it was already fixed. Turns out he was right. He could have easily worked on it for more money but instead inspected it and ensured it was a good repair at no cost. I paid in cash. Not sure if any other form of payment is accepted. After going here.. I ended up having to go to a professional who replaced my entire windshield and recalibrated it. Also took out the time to explain to me why this was necessary. I hate I wasted my $30 dollars here... not sure if my review keeps deleted but I'll keep reposting if I need to. Going to this guy who puts a quick fix on your windshield crack/chip will NOT work for everyone and that is important to know! I knew it was only a matter of time before driving on Houston roads would lead to a rock chip on my windshield. I called Safelite and they quoted $110 to fill the pencil eraser sized chip, so I decided to shop around and was recommended this shop by fellow Tesla owners. I immediately took my car there before the chip could expand into a crack, and when I pulled up around lunch time on a weekday, there were two other cars in front of me. The shop is a booth under a tent at the corner of the intersection, and there really isn't much room in the lot, so on a busy day, the line may spill over onto the street. While I was there, two more cars pulled up behind me, and they were stopped on Westheimer waiting for the line to move. Fortunately, the shop owner is efficient, and got the line moving quickly. Once I pointed out where my chip was, he drilled some relief holes in the glass to prevent the chip from spreading, and then filled it, waited for a few minutes, and then wiped off the residue. Several months later, and the fix is still holding up strong, and has not spread one bit! Best part is, it only cost me $30! read more

After owning several cars over the past 15+ years and skillfully (YES, I said skillfully,. Now shut up!) navigating my way around Houston and its vicinity and skillfully avoiding rock chips damage and whatever, I finally had a rock chip on my windshield :-( I was just SKILLFULLY driving down 59 North about to make my way onto 610 so I could go run at Memorial park when it happened. I heard a big, loud, noise on the windshield. And after oh so many similar sounds that I'd heard over the years, I knew right away that this was the one as I instinctively yelled out, "Fuuuuuuuuu......!!" Of course I resorted to Yelp to look for a place that fixes rock chips for cheap and has a very good review when my eyes gazed upon Clint Chips & Cracks Windshield Repair. Yes, I saw excellent reviews for other places, but those places are far from me and it seemed like the average cost for repairs at those places to be $35. On the other hand, Clint's only about five minutes away from me and only cost $20. Well, $20.99 if you're paying with a credit card. So I made my way down Westheimer and found this place in the corner of Fondren and Westheimer. I just pulled up and saw that Clint was just finishing up repairing another car. I waited about 30 seconds before he told me "$20". I told him I was paying with credit card and he said that it would be an extra $0.99 fee. That was fine with me, I came knowing that a fee would be charged for paying with a card. I just didn't know how much. $1 ain't too bad. He started working on it while I waited in my car, listening to the radio and within 10 minutes he was done. It was fun watching him work, to see the crack disappearing into a tiny hairline. All that's left now is a little mark where the rock hit my windshield. I went inside, paid, came out and Clint was already working on another windshield. One of if not the cheapest place to get glass repair. It seems most places want to charge 50-60 for this service. You technically could do it yourself, it's not difficult at all. But for $20 I think this guy is fair. It's like a revolving door here. One customer after the next. Pay cash outside or credit inside the auto repair shop. Small parking lot, he is on the corner. You may find it hard to get in and out. Took less than 10 minutes. read more

So glad I found out about this place from a friend. The crack in my windshield was about a little under 1 foot. Took him 15 minutes to seal for me and charged $30. There was no line when I was there so it was quick. He makes two small holes at each end of the crack and begins sealing it from there. I believe it is to stop the crack from spreading. The crack is barely visible now. Just keep in mind that cracked glass cannot go back to its original form 100%. This method is to prevent further cracking and make it barely visible. read more

No half ass worker working for another company. The guy who fixed the cracks is the owner. So he uses the correct procedure *Window cannot be wet for the last few hours before work is done *He drills small hole *Sucks air out with this machine and add acrylic *Cover chip with some type of sticker *Takes off sticker , scraps off excess acrylic , cleans window with windex * 10 minutes completed Tent set up outside an automotive repair shop (corner of westhimer and fondren). No fancy dancy set up. No chair to sit in. No A/C. $20 bucks. Bam! And to all the people whining and complaining about Clint messing up their windshield. Let me explain something to you. Glass cracks does whatever glass cracks wants to do. There's no gaurantee that the crack will spread unexpectedly , before a chip repair or after a chip repair. Realistically this type of service is excellent for small star shaped chips. DO NOT WAIT . Go immediately and take care of it before the crack spreads. Cracks have a mind of their own and will spread gradually over time . Maybe due to temperature or maybe hitting a pothole . This is the only place I go to for windshield repairs. I drive past other places mainly because he's fast and gets the job done for a great price. Only slight downside is cash/Zelle only but hey it's only $20 for a windshield chip. Some other places will want triple. A windshield chip repair kit from Amazon is $10. I will gladly pay the extra as I don't trust myself to do it properly vs the guy who does this over and over again daily. read more

In the battle of the "The Flying Rock" vs "My Breakable Windshield", the loser this round was my breakable windshield. Damn you huge truck (Shakes fists in the air)! My poor car has been on a bad streak with a door ding now a crack in the windshield. I did a quick search for a windshield repair around my area and this one came up with really good reviews. It's located right at the corner of Westheimer and Fondren. There is a small white tent that has the windshield repair sign on it. It is run by Clint who is very friendly. I drove up and asked him how much to fix it and it only cost 20 bucks! He had a rolling tool box which had the drills, resin and etc... And started working on my windshield. It took him about 15 minutes to seal up the crack. (Note: It's always better to get the crack fixed right away rather than waiting as the crack could grow). Lucky I was the first person there because three other cars pulled up after I did. Clint told me that he has been at this location for 15 years. Fast, efficient and professional are words that can describe the service here. I hope not to be back again but if I have to then I'll be back at Clint Chips & Crack Windshield. Note to self: Stay away from trucks in Houston, if possible. read more

I went to visit Chips and Cracks two days after a rock flew into my windshield leaving two big star shaped cracks on the driver's side. I looked up their reviews on Yelp before going and decided to check them out. **Please note, their tent is located in the same parking lot as a body repair shop at the light. It can be easy to miss the first time going. Upon arrival, I joined in the line of a queue of cars behind one that was being serviced. One of the helpers immediately walked over and began to inspect the windshield and asked me to roll down my window so she could let me know the pricing structure. She even pointed out another crack that I hadn't noticed before. I appreciated her acknowledging me while I was waiting which seemed like a good sign. She was friendly and so was her father when it was my turn to pull up. Also while I was waiting, it began drizzling. It had thunderstormed earlier that day so I was concerned that it would start to pour before it was my turn to be serviced. When the drizzle got a little heavier, the attendant ran over to my car and began placing tape over the cracked areas and let me know that if it started raining, they would still try to service me by moving their stand over to the side of my windshield where the cracks were and shading it with the giant patio style umbrella attached. I appreciated that as well! When I pulled up, of course it started full out raining :( The owner said he could do the the two cracks on the drivers side since they made it under the umbrella before it started coming down. The daughter brought a handheld umbrella and covered the remainder of my windshield to keep any sideways rain from interfering which was over and beyond because she was getting rained on! The rain stopped abruptly after 5 minutes and they were able to fix all three cracks! Additionally, it has been a while since I've had a crack repaired but I literally had trouble finding where the crack used to be once he was finished. They are transparent and at first glance, they look like they've completely vanished. Not sure if that is due to the specific pattern of the cracks I had, but nonetheless I was incredibly pleased. I tried to get my windshield fixed, but couldn't due to the crack spreading. I was just a little put off by the social skills. When I walked up to his table, he looked at me... but didn't say anything. I initiated the conversation and asked if he was open for business and was told, "Yes." When I showed my cracked windshield, I asked, "Is this something you would be able to repair?" and he said, "No." I would have appreciated being greeted with a "Hello, how can I help you?" and then a brief explanation of, "Due to the size of the crack, the windshield is really going to need to be replaced. I sure wish I could help you." But all I got was one "yes," and one "no." I would recommend this place to someone who had a small chip in their windshield who wasn't interested in communicating. I'm sure this business could fix it. But personally I prefer a little more social skills from the people who help me especially when there's potential for me to hand them money. read more

Wish I had a better review...mostly because now my chip has turned into a crack across my entire windshield. I went in the day I got a rock chip. Pulled up...didn't even have to turn my car off or get out. 20$ later the small quarter size chip was repaired and I was good to go, or so I thought. Less than a week later the chip had turned into crack too big to repair and now I'm stuck with a replacement. I realize that the chip repair wasn't going to make it disappear, but I stupidly thought it was just that, a repair. Will not be driving through this shotty roadside stand again. Next time I will go somewhere where a little more care (and more than 5 minutes) is put into the job. read more

Amazing and easy! It's a tiny parking area in the corner of the intersection, just drive in and wait for Clint to walk over. He fixes your windshield while you just sit in your car! Completely transparent and very helpful. $20 for a small crack is what I did. I had a tiny chip that I recently got, and a crack that I got ~7-8 months prior and had already "fixed". I mentioned I noticed it had grown a little bit since then, and Clint told me it hadn't even been fully fixed the last time and proceeded to fix it for me in 10-15 minutes. Super quick! And you watch the whole process so it's interesting. Originally I was debating whether it's better to get a car wash before or after (because of all the crud from my long drive) but decided since it's VERY BAD to have any exposure to water to wait until after. After the repair though, can immediately go to get a car wash! ****DO NOT WET your windshield in any way before the repair!**** For the newer tiny chip, Clint advised me not to even fix because it shouldn't pose any problem. I was worried it would grow into a crack, but he even said if it started growing he'd fix it for free. Honesty! I could see other people just charging for a simple nonsense procedure that wouldn't even do anything. Highly, highly recommended.
