This will be my third time using Lone Star Glass. One time burglars broke a window while I was out of town and were able to access the house. Foolishly, the alarm was not set. I was out of town and a neighbor called to let me know. I called LSG and they immediately sent someone out to make the repair - a neighbor allowed entry. The most recent need was a broken pane in a large steel-framed door caused by a rock from a leaf blower. They were prompt, polite, communicated incredibly well and explained the entire process. Don't even bother with this company. If you're not from a rich neighborhood or you don't have a big project for them, they'll claim you're not in their "service area". They wouldn't drive 30 miles to replace my window. If they couldn't service the Houston area( which way bigger than 30 square miles) then why is their company here? Do they go to work sites on bikes or what? Maybe they think they're too big and special to service just anyone anymore. All should go elsewhere. This is a wonderful place to work with. We have bought a shower door and several glass table tops. The product is great and works fine. I recently purchased 3 custom pieces of glass from LoneStar. It started with excellent customer service from Rachel (I believe that was her name) who was extremely polite and helpful. The glass was cut to my exact dimensions and I took them home to install them. It turned out I had measured wrong and called Rachel to see what could be done. She told me not to worry and she would be glad to recut the glass and no cost. This is another example of their excellent customer service and you can rest assured whenever I need any type of glass I will be contacting Lone Star Glass. BAD experience though I've known other people who had good experiences with Lone Star Glass. Agreed on work, set appointment according to their availability, brought the vehicle and went for a walk with my dog since they said it would be 1-1.5 hours. 1.5 hours later I call and the work has NOT even been started AND they think from that point it will now take TWO hours!! Yes, I got up early to make this appointment, YES I thought a nice long walk would work out to match what I was told, NO there was not empathy but more of a "not my problem" response when I came back and took my car away without any work done. Very unfortunate to have such a bad customer service experience especially in a city where there's too many other capable businesses to have to count on this one. Therefore, I CANNOT recommend this company - every customer and every experience counts! read more

Erik was awesome. I needed an unusual piece of glass for a special antique coffee table. And it had to be quick to replace the one I accidentally broke at my friends home. The glass had to be special ordered, then cut and polished. This was the week before their Christmas party, and I begged for help. Somehow Erik expedited the order and in less than half the estimated delivery time I got a call to come pick it up, with 5 days to spare before the party. I hate to leave such a negative review, but enough is enough! This company's customer service response is HORRIBLE! What an incredible waste of time for me! Every single person I spoke with was polite and seemed eager to help me with my project of shower door installation, however they NEVER responded to my requests!! Despite emailing detailed photos of the project area to them per their request, over a week passed without hearing from them. When I called to ensure that they had received the information, they admitted that they had and would have someone reach out to me on the next business day which would have been Monday. Four business days passed and I called yet again and was told that someone would reach out to me by the end of the day.... That never occurred. I could go on describing three more examples of this company's lack of response to my questions and complete failure of their employees to follow through with the information they provide, but will refrain from doing so. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company based on their complete lack of interest in responding to customer requests. With the economy as it is today, there many, MANY other companies here in the Houston area who would love to have my business! This I did and then called a day later when I received no email or phone response. Now, a week later, still no response. The team was excited to help me with a complicated project to convert a wine barrel into a minibar. They listened to my ideas then presented several options to consider. Ultimately, they custom fabricated a glass shelf and a glass tabletop to fit the barrel. They also hustled to finish the project early to make sure I could deliver the minibar as a gift. I worked with Chris directly -- he was very easy to work with and had fantastic ideas along the way. After doing research on various places (to which many had mediocre reviews), I ended up being referred by a friend to a guy named Eric. After follow up calls from Gilbert and eventually Rachel, I was reassured that my Lexus GS' front windshield would be taken care of. Not only was the customer service very pleasant, the workmanship on the new windshield replacement was clean and immaculate. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. I've read of many places that either lack the quality of work or perform poorly on communications with customers or "potential"customers. These people here nailed both and hit it out of the ballpark. No leftover glass shards, careful removal/transfer of stickers, alarm, etc. The quality and effort that these folks put forth on my vehicle, I will happily do the same and share my recent experience. As a clumsy person, I have frequently needed glass replaced on the frames for my art. I tried to get a quote at Michaels, but the gentleman at the frame shop there straight up told me to go here instead. So I did. I got a very reasonable quote on my first picture, and since then have come here for all of my glass replacements (sadly, there have been many). The staff is very friendly and helpful, and the service is excellent (depending on when I came, I could often sit and wait for a few minutes after I brought it in and they'd take care of the picture right then and there). And like I mentioned before, the prices are extremely fair and I would guess some of the best you'll find. They'll even install the glass for you for a small fee, though you can choose to just install it yourself. I haven't had to buy glass for any other reason so far, but if I do, this is the place I'm going. read more

It's never a good thing when your car gets broken into. The sinking feeling that something is gone that might be irreplaceable and you've never been safe parking in your neighborhood is a hard thing to swallow, but it comes with the territory of living somewhere as cool as Montrose. I heard about this place from my father, who's a pretty knowledgeable car guy. He gets all his glass work done at one of their other locations. I expected at least $500 worth of work to replace my passenger window and tint to match the others, but I walked out of there only paying $245 for the whole thing. It was actually cheaper than going the insurance route to get it fixed. I had more than enough money left over to replace my iPod with (actually) a better one that I found at a pawn shop. The repair took about an hour or so and when they were done you couldn't even tell that anything had happened to my truck. They even vacuumed out the broken glass in the interior. They did immaculate work. When I talk about the incident now, I equate it to essentially spending $400 to replace my iPod. That level of peace of mind was something I didn't expect, and I have Lone Star Glass and their friendly and professional employees to thank for it. So I had a guy install a new bathroom in my house. Everything was ok, but the shower door was a disaster. I didn't realize until later how incompetent that jerk was. After dealing with loose screws and tilting door for months, I decided to call Lone Star Glass to fix it. On the evaluation visit, the gentleman didn't say that it was a shitty door job, but his face said it all. He said that he could replace it, and gave me a quote. The job was done the next week. Just as discussed, price was great. They did a wonderful, quick job. I waited a couple of months to write this review to see if anything started to fall apart. It hasn't. The door works marvelously and I don't have to worry about leaks & tilts & aggravation. Would highly recommend for shower door installation/replacement. read more
