Since it is a tourist area, once the summer has gone and fall winds down, many of the local businesses shut down for the winter. This can make finding restaurants that are open hard to find. Moclips Country Store was recommended by the staff where I was staying. They had a good variety of grocery items for such a small convenience store. I was able to try their pizza a couple times and found it to be very good. The only drawback was I had to call many hours ahead, because they hand make the pizza dough the same day. They have a pretty good selection of hot food items available, and if you want something special, your request just might be granted. Other than that, I found everything I needed for my short stay in the area. As far as other items of interest, they had a little nook off to the side that had children's books and a few board games available for purchase. If you are ever in the area, Moclips Country Store is a great little convenience store to patronize. I highly recommend!

Completely non-retail related is the fabulous ocean view from the employee part of the parking lot.

Today I got the clam chowder and a bread bowl, which was absolutely delicious and loaded with clams. My husband got what he thought was going to be a cup of chowder, but it was more like a bowl and the cod sandwich with tots. We did get the fried mushrooms as well and ended up bringing most of them home because we were just too full. I do believe the club sandwich is off the menu currently but if they ever get it back, that's what I'm ordering next time because it is absolutely delicious as well. Super laid-back vibe, clean and relaxed. They let us know next time to bring our dog and we can go ahead and eat in their covered heated area which is super cozy and a great option!

The staff employee that we spoke with was very friendly, helpful, and professional. Upon arrival this Navy Lodge has plenty of parking for their guests.Once we finally got checked in and in our room, we noticed that the staff was maintaining the facility at a very high standard of cleanliness. I had come for fish tacos but they weren't serving them because they'd run out of red cabbage. That's why I still ordered a fish dish. Even the kid's size was too big. 2.5-3 filets. Lots of crunchy batter on both fish & potatoes. It's probably my french grandmother's fault but I use tartar on my fries. Never my fish (IMO-fish that need sauce isn't worth eating). However, the fish tasted differently from my usual preference. After removing the batter, which was fine on the potatoes, I decided it was the white fish used. I'm used to True Alaskan Cod. I have absolutely no idea what kind of fish is was. The Brussel spouts were very good, but way too much for 1, let alone 2. Loved their home made tartar sauce on my fries. Took home the remaining 2/3rds the spouts, 1 piece of fish and half my fries. Still curious about the tacos but I'm probably be otherwise occupied during the remaining time in the area. Thx.

They had a pomegranate grenadine which was super tasty. A con was that when you first enter the restaurant there is a strong odor of fish. Not the most pleasant. Another was that the service was not that attentive and a bit slow.

The restaurant is gorgeous, perfectly respectful of its stunning setting, and big enough that you can actually talk to your lover without yelling across the table (rare these days!). The server?
