We've been coming to Iron Springs Resort for years. We came here for the first time today. The reviews were horrible for years but the reviews had improved. I'm not impressed. The food was mediocre and the service was pleasant but not responsive. It was obvious that the tavern had been refurbished but I don't think we'll be back. read more

Came here after clam digging, starving and craving a drink... well, that was me! When I walked in, one of the regulars was celebrating his birthday, and everyone was singing for him--I loved that vibe! Food was solid, nothing earth-shattering, but tasty. Drinks were good, though I can't quite remember what I had (blame the post-clam haze ). Our server was fantastic--friendly, funny, and genuinely personable. From the outside, it looks like a regular small bar, but it is nicely decorated inside with a large fenced green yard in the back. The food and beer were tasty and service was fairly fast. Service - grade ! Food was disappointing. Prawns on a menu (in my opinion) are large shrimp. Ordered the dinner, salad, baked potato & garlic toast - yummy. After doing some treasure hunting a couple of Ocean Shores thrift-stores, we stopped here for lunch. We shared some Crab Rangoon, my husband got the fish and chips with fried oysters, I had the fish sandwich. My brother had the "Green Lantern Chicken and Jos" which he enjoyed; his wife had Caesar Salad. Both my husband and brother had a Manny's Pale Ale with their lunches. A group of us stopped into Green Lantern for lunch while staying in Ocean Shores. Free parking can be found in the parking lot. Credit and debit cards are accepted with a 3.75% service charge added. There is a $0.75 up-charge for each menu item ordered to-go. Breakfast is served from 8am-11am. Indoors offers a pool table, shuffle board, TV's and pull tabs. Outdoor picnic table seating is available. When sitting outside, staff service is not offered so everything must be completed at the bar. Daily specials are available starting at 4pm. Green Lantern offers a full bar and a nice selection of craft draft beer. During our visit my wife had Jameson for $8 and I had a Bodhi pounder for $7. We shared the Chili Dog for $13.99 + $1.99 up-charge for a cup of Clam Chowder as our side. Our lunch choice hit the spot perfectly on an overcast day. Staff was decent and friendly enough. Stoney, bartender, was super nice, very knowledgeable about the area, and a fantastic server. He stayed calm and rolled with the flow of the ocean. I Tried the Crab Rangoon it was delicious. It's a fun bar but hard to get to due to construction on the main road between Ocean Shores and Copalis, where Green Latern Tavern is located. There's a detour to get there, which isn't too bad with GPS. The bar tender was friendlysnd they offer my favorite beer on tap, Alaskan Amber. It looked like mostly locals hanging out there. The pool table and shuffle board was nice, too. When the road reopens to Copalis from Ocean Shores again with no detour, I'll visit again. It was a nice experience I look forward to having again. read more

I gave this place three stars due to two reasons. One being, our waters were never re filled. They sat empty at the end of the table the entire time. The waiter never even asked if we wanted more water. I love the ambience here though. A small town pub with lots of good individuals passing through. It was Sunday and on a dig day. Lots of people were there. My burger although the toppings were good, the burger was like rubber. It was dry and overcooked. The fries were delicious and so were the onion rings. I definitely will still come back and try other things. read more

Good that was once a staple is made a Olympics relay event if why they cannot make x and y when they are not busy. New decor, rude/not consistent waitstaff (got our condiments all wrong), and food wise that's just leaving more to be desired. Inside well in the past it was once a place for families, but exorbitant prices have pushes family of four out of the market. All good things must come to an end, guess a 5+ year record of coming here through trips has reached its penultimate end. I would not recommend this place. read more

First time back in many years. It used to be a good decent place. Now If you dont have any other choice it's just ok. Service is well sort of just barely OK. I get it , this place is basically a dive bar that put in a new floor and fresh paint. I wish people would quit thinking that a small neon beer sign is décor. One wall covered in them! When the Beer distributor comes in with those signs just tell them No thanks! Some awesome historicle area photos would have been cool. Probably the only reason it got cleaned up was because they have it for sale. We went there and they said just sit down anywhere. Well we did and the bartender came over and said oh no, that table is reserved for parties of 5. well they didn't have anybody that reserved that table just a place marker in case some group just happened to wander in. The place was barely at 25% capacity!!! She wanted us to move to a small table up front. I was playing shuffle board and that wasn't going to work as it was at the other end of the place. Anyway....I ordered there so called "Mushroom" burger" that was supposedly smothered in mushrooms. I counted 3 little thin pieces of mushrooms. couldn't even tasted them. The Beef patty was over cooked and tasted like another cra_ppy frozen pre-made burger. There was a small amount of french fries that were done well(good) just barely any on the plate. About a size small from a fast food place. The burger was edible and that's about it. Wife wanted me to send it back but I didn't because it wouldn't have mattered. Put it this way...A 5guys burger would have been about 20times better! Granted Fresh vs Frozen will win most every time. My wife had the French dip and oh what a disaster that was. The dipping au jus tasted like it was from concentrate and not fresh. Way too salty with not much flavor. She was struggling to eat the sandwich so I tasted it and if you can imagine eating well done cooked twice then frozen 3 times, shoe leather from an old pair of Doc Martins, that's the best analogy I can come up with on short notice: )) Sorry Doc Martin you don't deserve this. It was so dry that even dipping it in the au just didn't help. A D- grade on this one. High strung bartender that was the ONLY hard worker there, never checked on the table. never asked if we would like something else. Just a couple nights prior we had went to Bennett's in Ocean Shores and I had their Prime Rib dip. only about a buck more(approx.) That was melt in your mouth sort of awesome with great service. Dont waste your money at The old Green Lantern. Take the extra few minutes and drive into Ocean Shores The total bill with tip came to 74 Bucks!!!! for a cra_ppy hamburger and a joke of a french dip(worst I have had in 66 years!) And 2 beers If it was my restaurant I would look for a different cook because the one they have doesnt know squat about cooking. All I can say is go somewhere else and dont waste your hard earned money here! When I first went in, it was a recon mission for a business partner of mine as we were interested in the "for sale" aspect. I dint even want to have them "Open the books" to see the last few years sales revenue after such a bad experience and not many customers. Place was for sale in excess of a million bucks..sort of around 1.3million if memory serves me well today. Good Luck you need some. read more

Came here because they had 4 stars and it's my birthday and I love good food. I have never eaten at a four-star place that had terrible food before, so didn't really know it existed. The food is barely edible. The chowder is supposed to be in-house made, and it is definitely not, however it is possible that it was made four days ago. The fish is frozen, the nacho meat is frozen, the bread also tastes from frozen. The water wasn't even good. I normally give this place two stars, but in addition to the bad food, the server acted like they didn't want to work there anymore, and possibly hated their job. read more

I read some reviews, yes, service can be slower due to this being a small local establishment. We are a family of 6, and didn't want to spend a lot of $ in Ocean Shores. We all went and it was slower but we weren't in a hurry and enjoyed time with our kids at the table. Fantastic food, we needed more sauces, all we had to do was ask. They were happy to refill. We would go there again, I love how there were many locals there. If you are in a hurry go somewhere else, if you don't like signs labeling gendered bathrooms, go somewhere else, not everything needs to be in a rush or cater to your political affiliation. Two years ago there was a yelp review with a picture of customers at a table and they were there at the same table. If your traveling between Ocean shores and Pacific Beach. Stop by. When on an RV trip, my husband and I always look for the local dive bar in a new area to try out. This was a great choice, once you navigate the blind intersection (from Ocean Shores) into the parking lot, it is a welcoming space with ample sitting, a long bar and a pool table/shuffle board in the back which was well tended. The staff was prompt in greeting us and checking for our drink order as well as letting us know specials and the highlights of the menu. With a robust beer/cider offering and cocktails available, both of preferences are met. My husband went with the broasted chicken and jo jos, and I chose the seafood combo of cod and prawns with fries. Our orders arrived promptly and were generous in portion; the left over chicken will be lunch tomorrow. We enjoyed our visit and will certainly be back for a meal - breakfast looks great. read more

We've tried grilled chicken sandwich, chicken fried steak, and the chicken fried steak sandwich. All have been delicious, I loved that they served the grilled chicken on toasted bread, and the garlic mashed potatoes that came with the chicken fried steak. My husband loves the chicken fried steak sandwich, it has a soft egg added on top, but make sure you tell the cook how soft you want it. My husband loves the yolk runny. So my family and I spent the past few days staying at the Quinault Resort & casino. We noticed that a few of the restaurants we wanted to try were no longer open. We spotted it on the way back to the resort from Ruby Beach and decided to check it out. I had no idea what to expect. It was myself, my parents & my 10 year old son on a Wednesday night. Looked to be some locals hanging around the pool table, a seating area with booths by it, a small dining area in front of the door. The menu has an array of items surely to make everyone happy. The drinks were strong & Wednesday is peanut night. Also, we found out that it's also Bingo night in support of PAWS which I believe is their animal shelter in the area. So we got invited to play Bingo. The 1st card was free & every card after that $1. The man running bingo let my son play along. It was so much fun to pass the time waiting for our food. My son put his phone down & actually got involved. I won the 1st round & was kind of nervous to win, but the locals seemed excited and friendly. I have to say playing bingo at a off the trail bar with my family was one of the highlights of this trip for me. We had so much fun. The food was good. I had a chicken fried steak w/mashed potatoes and garlic bread. Also came with a side salad (lettuce & cheese w/dressing). Not the best one I've ever had, but I had no complaints at the same time. The French dip was served on garlic bread. My dad & son liked their French fries. Dad said his burger was good & mom got the chicken & jojo's which looked good and she said they were good too! Slow, slow, slow. Greasy food. Took so long even to get a beer. Still here after 1 hour and no food.

Just like a previous review I did of the Museum of the North Beach, the Green Lantern Tavern was one of those places we've seen and passed by many times during out visits to the coast. And just like the Museum of the North Beach we decided to finally pay a visit and had that "why have we never done this before?" kinda moments. It was a day of firsts for us I guess. Here are the obvious and quick highlights. First off, great location located off the 109, ample parking, and great view (not that you can see it from inside the Tavern). Nice, clean bar with TV's, music, ample seating, pool, darts and family friendly. Good choices of adult beverages behind the bar. Service was good as we were greeted and seated (seat yourself actually) promptly. The waitress was nice and personable. She had good timing as she stopped by regularly to take orders, check to see how we were doing and to check drink levels. As she was the only one on the floor and there was quiet a few folks there for the lunch rush she did an amazing job keeping everyone happy. Some entertainment as I believe the owner's dogs had a run of the place, a couple of French bulldogs that my young son appreciated. I think though their run only lasted until someone would come in with another dog. Must be a canine territory thing which I understand, our late puppy was kinda the same way. The topper for me though was my sammy. This, I believe, has got to be one the best sandwiches I've ever had. Easily makes my top 5, and definitely the kind that I'll probably order EVERY time we visit. I HIGHLY recommend the Chicken Fried Steak Sammy. Imagine nestled between two thick pieces of toasted Texas Toast a chicken fried steak, an egg, cheese, bacon and...AND country gravy! HOLY FISH! That was one DAMN good sammy I tell ya! And it comes with a side of fries that were excellent as well! I only say that because it seems like all the fancy burger places here on the west side seem to screw you by charging you 15-20 bills for a burger and it don't even come with fries on the side. Well, the sammy's and burger's here do! Wife had the fish-n-chips, which she seemed to thoroughly enjoy, but she really liked the clam chowder. Nice and thick, lotsa clams. I mean I would hope the clam chowder was good considering this is clam digging territory. Our young progeny had a plain cheeseburger (w/ketchup) and fries and according to him, that burger made his top 4 cheeseburgers. That is behind Hoquiam's Humdinger cheeseburger, Port Angeles's Kokopelli Grill cheeseburger and the number one in his book, Seattle's Dick's cheeseburger. So bottom line, this place makes for a great lunch and beer stop between going to the beach, clamming or flying kites. The Green Lantern Tavern will definitely be a regular stop for us. Suck's that we waited for so long to finally stop! I guess better late than never. read more

This place was recommended to us by a local and they were spot on. Everything was so good, quick, everyone was so kind. The inside is decorated super nice/cute. The French dip is made with garlic toast, so good. The clam chowder is made in house and so good. The service was amazing, waitress was great, the guy at the bar was super friendly and quick to jump in and help get everyone served. They made you feel super welcome, and made me feel like I was part of the locals. We will be back for sure! Highly recommend. read more

The Reuben and clam chowder are top notch. The clam chowder is obviously fresh made with tons of tender clams, red potatoes and dill. The Rueben has generous portion of corned beef, sauerkraut and thousand island. We have to come back several times during our stay at the beach to get our fill. My son got the French dip and he had a hard time finishing the mass of roast beef. Good things come to those who are patient often they are understaffed but friendly. read more

My dad lives in Copalis Beach so when I visit we always come here for lunch. This particular day was super busy and it took about 45 minutes to an hour to get our food. I ordered the Caesars salad and added shrimp and my dad ordered the burger special. I was quite disappointed with the salad especially for the hefty price. There was very little shrimp and was completely covered in tasteless croutons. My dad was very happy with his burger and said that it tasted extremely good.
