My book club full of ladies was staying in Seabrook for the weekend and came here for a late lunch. Even though the bar was full, they sat us in the restaurant that hadn't opened yet. A great menu with something for everyone--they have cocktails, wine, beer and cider. All kinds of good menu food options. I split the special halibut fish and chips with a friend. Girl, this was fantastic fish and chips! Three huge pieces of halibut--way too much for the two of us--cooked to perfection. The fries weren't my favorite, kind of steak fries if you curled them. Definitely a mix of pros and cons. A pro was that the burger was really good. I really enjoyed the burger with the abundance of veggies. The fries were crisp and hot. They had a pomegranate grenadine which was super tasty. A con was that when you first enter the restaurant there is a strong odor of fish. Not the most pleasant. Not cheap but very good. I had a cab, the Brussels Spouts appetizer & the child's fish and chip. Still waaay too much food for a senior citizen. I had come for fish tacos but they weren't serving them because they'd run out of red cabbage. That's why I still ordered a fish dish. Even the kid's size was too big. 2.5-3 filets. Lots of crunchy batter on both fish & potatoes. It's probably my french grandmother's fault but I use tartar on my fries. Never my fish (IMO-fish that need sauce isn't worth eating). However, the fish tasted differently from my usual preference. After removing the batter, which was fine on the potatoes, I decided it was the white fish used. I'm used to True Alaskan Cod. I have absolutely no idea what kind of fish is was. The Brussel spouts were very good, but way too much for 1, let alone 2. Loved their home made tartar sauce on my fries. Took home the remaining 2/3rds the spouts, 1 piece of fish and half my fries. Still curious about the tacos but I'm probably be otherwise occupied during the remaining time in the area. The location is beautiful in Seabrook city center, and the ambiance was quite nice. Average noise level sitting in the 'Tavern' section of the restaurant. The server was fantastic (didn't get her name, but female redhead with glasses). I always appreciate excellence. It was lunchtime, so I went with the fish and chips, but exchanged the chips with onion rings. That made me feel pretty smart as the onion rings were perfectly crispy on the outside, and firm but juicy onion on the inside. The fish was a little over cooked as it came out super hot and super crispy. The taste of the fish was ok, but the consistency was a little mash potatoe'ish. Never had that happen before with fish and chips. All-in-all, great experience, but at $43 total (before tip), a little pricey for lunch. I'd still come back. Go here for the clam chowder you will not be disappointed. After the first bite I knew I would be thinking about it FOREVER. Its been months and I still dream about it. So buttery and rich and so so so good. It was so flavorful and just different than your classic clam chowder. The steak sando also was so good, all the flavors and that chipotle mayo! We sat outside and were the only ones so we kind of felt forgotten. There were also so many bugs and it felt kind of dirty. My take is pretty consistent with others. The service is just not there. I liked what I ate but my wife did not like the fish and chips at all. Very bland and would not recommend like others have. I feel like this place is poorly managed and there is a young staff left to fend for themselves. Often allowing too many customers to come in while they don't have enough staff to accommodate customers in a timely manner. They'll get to you, but boy will you have to be patient. We ate (and drank) at Rising Tide 3 times during our trip. There aren't many eateries in Seabrook so we were fortunate that the margaritas and food were stellar. Their clam chowder is a unique recipe and very good. Our favorite meals were the fish tacos and fish & chips. My friend thinks the margaritas were the best she had ever had. The only food we were disappointed in was the onion rings. They looked and tasted like the packaged, frozen ones you can buy at a grocery store. We were surprised they weren't homemade. The servers and bartender made us feel like we were among friends. They have a happy hour menu. The ambiance comfortable. They offer brunch on Saturday and Sunday. We unfortunately missed that. I wanted to try everything on their brunch menu but ended up sharing a Tavern Omelet with my mom. Their serving sizes are perfect. We were surprised when they brought out a plate that looked reasonable enough to finish! I wouldn't say flavors were out of this world, but everything was cooked & seasoned well and filled us for the morning. We also got the fan favorite clam chowder which was sooo good and unique.. It didn't have the typical sea salty taste of a clam chowder but I still liked it a lot :D Also worth adding they're pet friendly! came here for a weekend getaway with my partner. We tried this tavern and I can 100% can say - go somewhere else. anywhere else! The staff (wait staff) were rude, and racist against lesbians. As we were eating our meals, not even half way through the meals, a young brunette waitress came by the table and asked if we were done and tried to offer the check - you can see our food was barley eaten, along with our drinks. I told her that we are clearly not done and how rude of her to rush US but no one else at the tavern was rushed. some time passed and well we didn't finish the food and paid - no tip. then left disappointed. Staying the night in nearby Moclips and were recommended this spot. The menu is definitely not thrifty with $25 burgers and sandwiches. We were seated in the bar area and promptly served our burgers which came with a good amount of twisted shaped fries. They also have a selection of around 8 local draft beers and ciders. Mushroom swiss burger was very good, without mayo, added bbq sauce. Ice cream available across the street for dessert as well! read more

Arrived on a Friday night and expected to wait. Front of house staff person took our phone number and did not have any idea how long of a wait and gave us no estimate. They ended up forgetting about us and there were 2 tables ready for us to have been seated at a while ago. The Hot Honey Chicken was good, but the New Standard double hamburger patty was not smash style like detailed and was too thick and dry. Pricing does not coincide with meal. read more

Beautiful nautical ambience! We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Staff was welcoming and friendly. We both ordered the fish and chips and we were sure glad we did. The portions were generous and the fish was perfectly cooked and piping hot!! A nice crispy batter finish and very good tartar sauce. If you're not real hungry, you could probably split this meal. I also had a gin drink that was made with Odessa and it was so unique and delicious tasted like a whiskey and very very good and supremely chilled. read more

One of the few restaurant options that Seabrook has to offer and if you don't mind your limited options, Rising Tide works just fine. Not really a place to get brunch, but we wanted food within the town and liked what Rising Tide had to offer us. They had a pretty diverse and cultural menu from what we ended up ordering. We got some clam chowder, Korean chicken wings, and pork schnitzel. Clam chowder was really nice with the cold rainy weather that Seabrook was having. The Korean wings were honestly only considered Korean because of the gochujang sauce that it was covered in. Can't expect it to be real Korean fried chicken wings with a crispy, crunchy, and light batter. I think they should try working on that to be more legit. The schnitzel was alright. I mean, I enjoyed what I ate. Hard to mess that up I think, but it's definitely incomparable to what Leavenworth would have to offer. It's just a nice taste of it. I like that they had a Chinese pop-up menu special going on during our stay. I was not expecting much from it, but thought it would be fun to try out still. We decided to pickup the order instead of eating there because it felt a bit weird to eat at the same restaurant twice on the same day. Honestly, this was more like a snack. So we got the honey walnut shrimp and ended up with both the chow mein and white rice as our side because they ran out of the fried rice. We lucked out especially since the portions for everything was extremely small! I mean, for a pop-up menu, I guess it makes sense, but for the price it went for, it did not seem like I was getting a bang for my buck at all. Felt kind of ripped off. Came with fortune cookies if that means anything. I'll definitely come here for the regular menu moving forward. Still, not a bad option to eat at while being a guest in this lovely town. We went in hoping the reviews were exaggeration or unfair but our experience was pretty disappointing. Nice looking restaurant. Smelled intensely of fish as you walk in. Service was ok--on par with other servers we've experienced in Washington. The first woman who greeted us in the bar area was super helpful and friendly. First disappointment was the water at the table. Legit tasted like they took it from a fish tank. Undrinkable so I ordered a lemonade. Ugh. Did not like the taste of that at all. There were no vegan or vegetarian options. They apparently have just removed the cauliflower sandwich that they have listed on their online menu (the main reason we stopped here) so fries and a mini garden salad it was for me. Big portion of tasty fries. Was worried they'd taste of fish but didn't so perhaps they have their own fryer. Garden salad could have been bigger. Wish the server had asked the chef for a vegetarian option (as many restaurants do), instead of just telling me to get fries. We would have left but my son was really wanting the nachos which he apparently very much enjoyed. My husband's $31 steak salad, however was lackluster. Bleu cheese dressing but no cheese crumbles as described on the menu. Overall this restaurant is overpriced and underwhelming but if your rental is in the area, you have few choices. read more

We got there on a Friday night when the Mariners were playing in the playoffs. The place wasn't that packed. The staff was not overworked took us a while to order drinks. They put a carafe of water at our table and didn't realize that we didn't have glasses for the water. We were in Seabrook on a Sunday right at lunch time so figured we'd wait awhile for a table for eight of us. We were surprised to be seated immediately at Rising Tavern and were skeptical since the place was basically empty. It's super modern and clean with nice upscale beach decor, not a tavern at all!! Our server was wonderful, super friendly and attentive but also very young and relatively new to the restaurant so wasn't super knowledgeable about the menu. He definitely made up for it with genuine kindness and impeccable service. The food was outstanding! We had everything from brunch to sandwiches and burgers, it was all amazing. The Corned Beef Hash stole the show with it's perfectly poached eggs and tender corned beef and the fries were a huge hit with the entire table! The biscuits and gravy were a bit spicy for our grandson that ordered them but a couple of switches around the table and everyone was happy! Highly recommend and will definitely be back! read more

When we walked in the place was totally full. It would've been an hour wait. Hostess was able to accommodate us in the back bar area. There was 10 of us so they just split the tables which we had no problem because we were all hangry. We came here last year on our last girl trip, so we knew the food would be good. Last year some of the ladies were trying to eat lite so they asked if they could order off kids menu. They were told no. But this time our server Nolan said it wasn't a problem, and wondered why we were even told that last years. Everyone enjoyed their food. I had the Korean wings, with the sauce in the side because I one it would be too spicy for me. But I'm glad I did it that way because I was able to taste the wings without sauce and it was crispy and delish. Great location in Seabrook right at the heart easy to find. Place is Always clean. We've been at this place every year for three years now. Nolan was exceptionally great with his service. He really took care of us. We are all pretty good tippers, so I'm pretty sure he was tipped pretty well for his amazing service. Plus the fact he was so busy it was only Nolan taking care of several tables inside and outside the back bar area. We will for sure be back on our next girls trip. read more

Back this summer and the Tavern was as good as ever! The chowder again, silly good, comforting yet not too heavy. The clam meat really is the star, they don't skimp and the pieces aren't minced. If being at Seabrook, walking along Pacific Beach, with friends or family or just yourself taking it all in, had a smell; this chowder is it. It's a hearty yet light chowder. I'd do anything for the recipe to the soup base!!? Perfectly tender root veggies, crunchy celery and generous pieces of razor clam. We also had the southern style fried chicken. For a large chicken breast, fried, the chicken was suuuper juicy under the perfect crunch from the fry and not oily in the slightest! Anyways, we had a lovely dinner sitting at a two top in the back bar. We were well attended to, super friendly and accommodating staff. My only not even complaint is lack of a wine menu. The wine bar a few doors down is fantastic!! I was surprised to see a barely there wine by the glass list at the Tavern. They will however waive a corkage if you bring a bottle you purchased from the wine bar! (Stowaway Wine Bar) So, I cannot wait to come back to the Tavern. Don't change that chowder!! read more

We spent a couple hours on the patio. We didn't eat but service was great for our drinks. Nice little spot.

First off, the inside is beautiful and I love the vibe that it has. Like a Nantucket style theme. It's very clean on the inside, and they employees work hard to keep the tables cleared and clean quickly. It was getting busy and there was only one server, so getting the check afterward took a bit but honestly it's ok. It was gorgeous out there. The fish tacos were big! They may not look like it in the photo but they are great. The slaw, the sweet homemade pico, the gochugang crema was delicious. Also, get their fries, they do not disappoint! read more

Rising Tide Tavern has an inviting and attractive atmosphere, and fits well with the Seabrook vibe. It seems to attract a good mix of groups of young adults, families with kids, and couples, and it appropriate for all. While the food and decor and vibe were fine (probably "4 star" on those fronts), I was disappointed with the service, most specifically it was literally (not exaggerating) over one hour from the time my companion and I placed our order until the food came to the table. One member of the restaurant staff stopped at two adjacent tables to explain that they were short staffed and food was taking longer, and added a strange addendum: that the kitchen staff was "dissatisfied with the buns" and needed to get a new supply of buns (an awkward circumstance which raises a number of questions). Curiously, that staff member did not stop at our table to make that same announcement, but then came to our table 10 minutes later to deliver the same message. When a restaurant is in a situation like this, I have seen the following remedies, all of which leave guests with a better feeling about their experience: 1. Upon arrival, guests are notified that service is taking longer than usual, and guests are given the option to either be seated or perhaps go elsewhere, with no hard feelings. 2. If this delay happens after ordering, the server (or any employee) explains to the table that there is a delay, and the restaurant provides complimentary drinks or appetizers, or offers a free dessert. 3. The restaurant takes a little off the bill (perhaps 10% or 15% or 20%). Anyway, I do not know if this experience was normal or atypical. But, regardless, it WAS my experience, and this review is meant to reflect that experience. If I were to return to Seabrook, I might be reticent to choose Rising Tide Tavern. read more

Of the main Seabrook restaurants, this is probably my least favorite. The service is always sooo slow and the food is only okay and overpriced. This last time we went was the worst. The food took a long time and then getting the dipping sauces another long wait. Then we waited for nearly half a hour for our check as did the table next to us. We were in the back with only four tables yet she only seemed to pay attention to one without even glancing our way so we could try to get her attention. Finally got the check and she watched me change the tip down to 18% and looked annoyed then never came back with my to go box. I'll stick to Koko's and Frontagers. Actually really nice inside, don't let the dive bar exterior scare you off. ( I actually like dive bars). But the menu is small, my wife had the chicken strips, she loved them... she is has been burned at restaurants, so that is a big win for them. I had the cheese burger, nothing fancy, or smashed, just a really great cheese burger. Only complaint is that the crinkle fries could have been cooked s little bit longer. Rising tide saved the night! On 2/18 the town lost power around 530, we sat down at another restaurant right when the power went out and they didn't have a generator, so we quickly scrambled over to Rising Tide where we were fortunate to find a table. We knew they were about to get slammed so we immediately ordered. Our waitress was really great handing the busy night, she was attentive and helpful all while attending many tables. Our food took a little while longer to come out than usual but that was understandable. Burgers were tasty and fish and chips were great. My only "complaint" or criticism relates to the sidewinder fries, just not a huge fan. Nothing beats fresh cut crispy fries, especially with fish and chips. Save your money. Unpleasant experience. We ordered 3 appetizers. Pulled pork nachos, sliders and kids fish and chips Took 30 minutes for our order to be brought out. It was cold. Food was sent back. Took another 20 minutes for food to be brought out again. Nachos were soggy and the cheese sauce had coagulated. Cod fish in the fish and chips were definitely low quality in taste and color. Sliders would have been great but the buns were kind of soft and soggy from sitting so long and being reheated in the microwave. Chips were good. Pulled pork on the nachos was delicious. The chips and cheese were horrible. Our bill totaled $75. We left $76. It's the first time in my life I have ever left without leaving a 20% tip. Having years of restaurant experience I always support restaurant workers but not this time. There has to be a better place to eat in this creepy little Stepford town. read more

In town visiting for our anniversary. This place is ok. We didn't see any non alcoholic adult beverages on the menu and our server didn't recommend any to us. I went with an iced tea and my husband had a strawberry lemonade. Appetizers - we did the wings with bbq sauce and brussel sprouts. Wings were fine, not the best not the worst. No one thought to give us an extra napkin with the messy wings. I'd recommend the brussel sprouts. Dinner - I had the fish and chips, sub kale salad instead of chips. Fish was good, not dry and not too much breading. The side salad was fresh and topped with nice ingredients. My husband had the fried chicken sandwich. It is a pressed white meat patty. It had a good kick of spice and he liked the thick fries. Overall good. We definitely ordered based off of what other reviews liked and didn't like. read more

Great location and lovely outdoor seating. The food is decent but priced a bit high for quality. They are dog friendly and have a bowl of water for your furry friends. It is in a upcoming Oceanside neighborhood so it's pretty great to check everything out. The service was amazing and each of the server who helped or dropped off food was positive and kind. We ordered the clam chowder, steak sandwich and loaded nacho fries. Their fries taste amazing and has a thin crisp with super fluffy. I love that they use nacho style cheese for the loaded fries, makes it so good. We added the fish tacos at the end of the meal because it looked yummy as a waiter carried it passed our table. We were kinda disappointed. The fish is larger than the tortilla and dry on the inside. The proportion of the ingredients in each of the taco affected the flavor of each bite. It lacked sauce, was dry, the pineapples were cut a little big to enjoy in each bite and surprised to see Brussel sprouts shavings as the green. read more

Nice place to grab a cocktail and, in our case, split a creme brulee on the patio, as we had our pupper with us and couldn't sit inside. The Seabrook smash is a nice, light, refreshing bourbon drink (something that cannot generally be said about bourbon), and the aforementioned custard was pitch-perfect: crisp on top, smooth down below. Service was timely and attentive, despite us being in probably the most out-of-the-way table in the whole joint. We'll definitely be back, on our next trip to Seabrook! read more
