This was a great find on our most recent visit to Washington. I had no idea the navy had lodging in Pacific Beach. We stayed here for 3 nights this year and it didn't disappoint. Its a older lodging facility, but well kept and clean. They have lodging rooms, camp sites and tent sites. The food was actually pretty good, seasoned and tasty. All the food was reasonable priced. Customer service was friendly and helpful. They have a bar, lounge and a gift shop. The whole area was amazing and a good spot to day drive to other spots in the area. Most days, this is a nice stop to grab something quick (relatively speaking) to eat ... however, at our recent visit they were out of just about everything ... fries, onion rings and other food items ... because they did not get their food delivery. Back in the days when this was a military (NAVY) special service location for active duty and retired service members, it was run a lot better. Today, now that it's open to the public, and it's a far cry from the past. read more

I am surprised this place doesn't have more 5 star reviews, my family and I had dinner here tonight and all of us agreed it is such a great place! The place us sparkling clean and has a lovely gift shop full of tasteful and extremely reasonably priced items. There us a lounge area for 21 and older where Ryan the bartender is attentive to patrons watching sports on the multiple large flat screens. We had our 2 young kids with us, so we sat un the dining area. The staff is so friendly and the food was all so fresh and delicious! I can't wait to come back next time we are in Moclips, truly a great place to grab a drinl, enjoy some sports and a drink and pick up some great gifts/memorabilia. read more

Located inside the main building of the Pacific Beach resort and conference center. This place has a robust menu covering all forms of burgers, sandwiches, and wide assortment of breakfast food. Reasonably priced and quite fast of delivery. My family and I had eaten breakfast and dinner here. They close at 8 pm so make sure to get your orders in before then. Biscuits and gravy are fantastic. Dinner sandwiches and chicken wings are awesome. You know they have a clean kitchen with fresh oil when each deep fried item tastes like it should. Many diners use old frying oil and everything starts to taste the same. Not here. The buffalo wings were amazingly crispy and delicious. Save yourself the tourist trap trip to Seabrook or Ocean Shores. This cafe is a great place to eat while staying here. read more

Wonderfully warm and sincere staff at the restaurant and bar. Maryellen, the bartender, was the perfect belle. I wanted something sweet as a dessert but the kitchen was already closed at the time. She made me a cocktail called Fudgsicle and added a dollop of whipped cream. IT HIT THE SPOT. When my buddy craved mozzarella cheese sticks, Maryellen quietly went to the cook and asked if he would make up a batch for us. And he did! We were so surprised when Maryellen brought the dish to us! How unexpected! Breakfast in the restaurant was average at best. My French toast was underwhelming. Don't eat here if you have a choice. But definitely hang out at the bar. Great place to chill. :) EDITED TO ADD LATER THE SAME DAY: Came back here for dinner after Maryellen informed us during midday cocktails that lunch and dinner were prepared by a different chef. What a world of difference from breakfast! Note: we ordered dinner at the bar because it was a more fun environment with only adults. Tonight's dinner special was prime rib and it was a big cut of meat! Cooked perfectly medium rare. The mashed potato was creamy and cheesy. Also try the crab cakes. HUGE patties. Generous serving of crab meat. The chipotle sauce had a good spicy kick. Very satisfying dinner! We spent the rest of our evening at the bar. Came here twice for breakfast while in town. Saturday was kind of a let down, Sunday was great! It seems like it's pretty hit and miss with this place. Maybe ask if the cook that day is "good" or not and go from there lol. Read on for explanation... Saturday - They said they were busy and was told it'd be a 40 minute wait for our food right when we sat down. The restaurant was not full in the least, sign said to seat yourself and there were maybe 5 tables of people in a room with 15-20, so we weren't sure why it would take so long but weren't in a hurry so it didn't bother us to much. We both ordered the Anchor omelet each with our own substitutions - no jalapenos for my hubby; no tomato, jalapenos or gravy, add mushrooms for mine. I asked if that'd be a problem before making the substitutions as I know some places hate that stuff. She said it'd be no problem at all, then said, "he's gonna hate me", as she left the table - Yikes! It did take a while to get our food and my husband was asked if he wanted coffee refills around 5-6 times by both waitresses before one of them actually brought some. We were there for around 2 hours and he only got 2 cups of coffee.... When we did finally get our food - it looked more like an egg scramble than an omelet. Mine was packed full with jalapenos and was uneatable, for me. When I mentioned it to the waitress - she said that the cooks not that great today - we should come back tomorrow - um Ok.... then went and had them re-make the omelet for me. That one was perfection! Seriously looked like an omelet should and was at least twice the size of the one I had before as well as my husbands - and it had jack cheese melted on the top, which the waitress pointed out comes on it but he left if off my husbands, however - no mention of making it right Just another comment on how the cook today isn't good and we should come back again tomorrow. Finally when we were done eating, we asked for a to go box - had to ask twice and still waiting for around 15 mins before actually getting one - then the one I got was busted and ripped. Whatever - we wanted to get back to our room and rest so we made do with it. Sunday - we went back because there aren't many places that serve breakfast and we were intrigued as to how today's cook would be. Plus, my omelet (the second one) was delicious and if it was made that way again, I'd totally eat it again! The same 2 waitresses were there again and around the same number of patrons but today's service was much much much better than the day before. We didn't have the same waitress as yesterday so not sure if that's why. We saw someone else's Anchor omelet and decided that yes - we both wanted one again. We ordered the same exact way and they arrived shortly after and were huge and exactly as we wanted them! Delicious!! The waitress we had yesterday stopped by and said, "See, I told you to come back today. It's much better right?" - which of course it was. The omelets were so big I could only eat a third, my husband little over half. We got coffee and iced tea refills on the regular - even before we were totally finished with the ones we had and were done and out within the hour. When in town again, we'll probably come here again - but we'll definitely ask questions before we sit down to try and determine whether it's going to be a "good" day or not. read more

Captive audience, especially since the Steak place down the street had signs saying "Due to unforseen circumstances..." Went to dinner on back to back evenings......first evening; male waiter, as nice as can be, extremely polite, helpful, patient.....food took forever, but who cares when the draft beers keep coming and you're on vacation! I ordered the sausage, pepperoni, onions, mushrooms pizza (large) to split with my daughter and we still were able to take home seven slices, very filling! My wife had the chicken fried steak, which seemed edible, but they brought mashed taters instead of the baked tater she ordered. Son-in-law, also fully engulfed in draft beer, ordered some giiinormous double burger. He said "Ooooo, Meeeat!" Second night, service was alot quicker (don't order pizza and the service really speeds up). I had the prawns basket, which for the price, was incredible! S-I-L had the fish and chips (good), and both wife and daughter went with sandwiches (standard). The crinkle fries were yummy! read more

This was a surprise highlight of our beach visit. Every time we got something for our room, complete with our (mostly my) odd requests, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Even just getting knives and forks for food from one of their competitors, they seemed genuinely excited to help people. Other than an order of fries early on, everything was nice and hot. The prices were decent, especially considering the lack of competition in the area. A nice dining option in between your beach excursions. Also, there's a full bar with a more modern TV than what's offered in the hotel rooms. read more

We had a great experience here. According to the lady that took our order they recently completed a renovation of the restaurant. It was clean and new and we were greeted with smiles when we walked in. We ordered at the counter and found a table for ourselves. The food came out quickly and the lady that served our order said they had just finished roasting a fresh turkey for one of our sandwiches. It was really a nice change from the processed meat you would normally get at a casual restaraunt like this. We also had the French dip and pizza and both were very tasty and the price was very reasonable. Once we finished our lunch we headed toward the exit and the chef came out and made sure we had a pleasant experience. Our expectations were a bit low when we arrived due to the outside appearance of the building and other Yelp reviews; however we had a great experience and will be back. read more

We were camping at the state park and asked the park ranger for a recommendation on a place to eat. He suggested the Windjammer and away we went. Our party had three burgers and a sandwich and all were very good. The decor was fun and my 7 year old daughter burned plenty of time trying to read all the signs. They were even training a new waitress that day and that didn't impact the meal at all. In fact, it added to the fun. The food was good to very good. Nothing incredibly special but nothing to turn a nose up at either. We want to go back to Pacific Beach again and we'll most likely eat here once more too. read more

We came back to the resort to go camping again and decided to give the Windjammer another try. This time I ordered the Anchor omelet and was much happier. Not being much of an omelet kind of girl, I was pleased that the Anchor is stuffed full of colorful peppers, tomato, and onion in addition to the meat and cheese. The gravy on top was bland but I forgive them. My son ordered a pancake. I snuck a bite off his plate and was impressed. The pancakes are delicious.....very fluffy and flavorful. One thing I forgot to mention last time, I am pretty sure the ice tea is made from powder, which is a loss of a star for this ice tea snob. I mean really.....ice tea is one of the easiest beverages to prepare.....really it is just as easy as powder and water. Service was great and we did not wait long for our food. read more

My husband and I are staying in the area this week. Decided to try take out from here for lunch. We were both pretty disappointed. He ordered the loaded fries. The fries were overdone and the cheese had hardened and was unappetizing. This wasn't due to a time issue with us, the house we are staying in is like 2 minutes from the restaurant. So anyway, I ordered the "gobbler", which the menu said would be turkey, cream cheese and cranberry sauce. It ended up having lettuce on it also, and I am not a fan of lettuce on a hot sandwich. In the process of taking off the lettuce I also lost most of the cream cheese. There was very little cranberry sauce and the turkey was dry. I ate less than half the sandwich. Would have been one star but the tater tots which came with my sandwich were really crispy and good. read more

To say this experience was disappointing is a gross understatement . We were almost greeted when we walked into the restaurant. The sign please wait to be seated.a serve rushed passed my fiancé and I and shoved a couple of menus into our hand and said to sit wherever. The server came by dropped off some water and droned of the specials, ribeye steaks, country-fried steak with pepper gravy and steamer clams. We opted for the ribeye and an order of steamers. As we waited and waited, we watched a family come in tell the server they knew what they wanted to order as the server simply walked away from their table. The family got up and left after waiting another 10 minutes without seeing the server again. Our clams arrived and were actually very flavorful. I asked the server before she walked off for a refill on my water. She replied sure thing. The server returned 15 minutes later with our specials. I reminded the server I would still like a refill on my glass of water. And was told point blankly "when I get around to it." We ordered our steaks medium and medium rare. Both steaks were completely overcooked. And everything on the plate was luke warm. The steak was a marginal cut of meat at best. And the cook must have be trying to save on spices as the steak was under seasoned, if seasoned at all. The corn on the cob was mostly cob and the red potatoes were flavorless. We chose not to wait for the bill, as i have still not seen the server again. When asked how everything was, I laughed in the cashier's face. She asked if we said anything to the server, I explained I was still waiting for a refill on my glass of water. I could only imagine how much longer I would have waited if I had set my food back for a warm-up. They made no attempt to rectify or make amends for the poor quality of the food or miserable customer service. They one thing in abundance was the excuses. If you find yourself in the area of Pacific Beach and thinking about the Windjammer. I highly recommend thinking again and finding somewhere else,save youself the frustration and disappointment. read more

I can't comment on the food, because we didn't end up ordering. The dining room looked like a cafeteria, so we opted for the bar, which was not busy. The waitress/bartender walked over to us and just said "So, do you know what you want yet?", in not a pleasant way. We ordered a couple of drinks and asked for a menu. She brought the drinks and the menus, but never came back to take our order.Several people came in and she took their orders right away and it seemed that they were locals. We waited for 15-20 minutes and she never came back, so I went to the bar and told her that we decided just to have the drinks. Her reply was, "I see how it is." in a rude tone. She said that we should try next door and took the cash for the drinks. You could tell that she was not pleased. I can't comment on the food, since we never ordered, but I was not impressed by the service or the decor. The menu seemed good, but I would suggest calling ahead and getting it to go if you decide to eat there. It only looked like they had a couple of staff for the whole dining area and bar, so I can assume the wait is pretty extensive. All in all, not a good experience. read more

He doesn't like bell peppers and onions and they were not only willing to leave them out, but they offered to add mushrooms and extra meat for him. I had the chicken fried steak and it was delicious. I was touring the Olympic Peninsula by bicycle recently and was craving a hearty meal; although at that point anything would have tasted good because of how tired I was. The service was average, and so was the food. $14 for a 6 oz. steak was definitely not worth it, especially because I ordered it medium rare and received it medium well. This is a place that is you wouldn't just walk in on. Food was good and the staff was very nice. Food took no time to prepare and was out shortly after we sat down. The BLT was great along with the wings and pizza. They are owned and operated by Naval Station Everett, so no taxes! Gift shop attached for souvenirs. I'm sorry folks, but there was little to no redeeming qualities about this place. The locals filled our heads with grandious dining experiences and it was just about the most bland, institutional food that I could have imagined. My fi expancee ordered the clam chowder (not of the quality one would expect with the sea so close), and a salad that was drowning in dressing. My reuban was miniscule, and the meat appeared to be of the cold cut variety of corned beef. I guess I should have expected the subpar meal, but the build up caused expectations to grow. There are loads of better places to eat on the coast. read more

The clam chowder was pretty good. I frequented this place during my stay, the bar tender was awesome! The waitress however was not very personable and she served me warm orange juice for breakfast today. When I pointed it out she said that it was because there weren't any cold ones but that it was in dry storage and she just opened it. I still tipped her although I shouldn't have. Breakfast is one of my favorite meals; the food was bland and the hash browns tasted burnt. I would visit the bar again for sure. read more

Windjammer remodeled their restaurant and now you only order at counter. I was so happy to see our sweet waitress still there, Tre always smiles and is the most positive person, we love eating up there just because of her service. In the past the food was average but service was always good and since there are not many places to eat in this small beach community we still would go up there. With the new remodel my friend and I decided to split a cobb salad and a club sandwich so we could try a couple different things...WOW was it good! Neither of us could even eat our sandwich and had to take it home. The salad was huge with fresh veggies and lots of protein on it, blue cheese dressing wad good with chunks of blue cheese. The sandwich had real carved turkey and ham, not just processed meat, it was very good also and became my dinner that night. But the service was excellent and made our delicious lunch even better. Wonderful coffee nudges too. So glad to see they kept Tre with the change, we always walk out of there a little happier seeing her smile read more

This place has gone through quite the transformation. On the outside of the building it still says Windjammer but now it is called, Pacific Beach market & Café. We used to go here ....I am guessing 6-8 years ago and the food was great. Then, 4-7 years ago they cleared out their menu for more healthy eating and we got up and left because is had very poor choices for breakfast and dinner. Every year, we would stop by and the menu was still the same and we would move on. This weekend we stopped in and they had changed their menu again. It wasn't back to the original one but it was better than the previous. We ate here 3 times and I must say that the prices are good and so is the food. We were just driving up the coast and asked someone where a good place to eat was. The told us about this place. We were seated right away. The view was beautiful. I had breakfast. Our experience at the Windjammer was terrible. This was the first time I have eaten at a restaurant and not given a tip. We arrived at the restaurant shortly after 6pm on Saturday 9/6/2014. We decided to eat in the bar, because there were not many other customers. The waitress/bartender came and took our drink order a minute or two after we sat down. A few minutes later, she returned with the drinks and took our dinner order. We asked for two orders of fish and chips, a chef salad, and a steak w/ clam chowder. About 5 minutes later, the chowder was brought out. That was the last of the prompt service. Over then next 45 minutes to an hour, the waitress did not check on us and our food was NOT brought out. The manager came to our table and apologized that the order did not get communicated from the bar to the restaurant and they were just starting on the order now. (I do not get this, because the chowder was brought out.) There was no offer to bring out a free appetizer or offer of a reduction in the price. About 20 minutes later, our food was brought to us. My sister-in-law ordered the chef salad and when she placed the order, the waitress was not sure what dressings were available. She asked the server what dressing was brought out and received the rude response "How should I know!!!" After we were done eating, I had to flag the waitress down to get our check. I gave her my credit card and she walked away. She had been avoiding us. Five minutes later, I walked up to the bar and asked about my card and receipt. The waitress said "OH CRAP" loud enough that the entire bar heard her. After seeing we did not think she deserved a tip, she said in a very sarcastic tone "Have a great rest of your evening". I really do not get it. There are not many restaurant choices in the Pacific Beach area. The food was pretty good. The service was terrible. Maybe you need to be active military and/or a regular customer to get good service. If you are not in one of these categories, go to the Sea Gate restaurant and bar a few minutes down the road. Atmosphere was very nice, we sat in the Bar. Rebecca waited on us, and was very welcoming and friendly! I ordered the crab cakes, which were VERY good, and the whole meal (salad, fries, green beans ) included were exceptional! A GREAT value! Well I am sorry... This place used to be pretty good as far as the food and or service is considerded. I m talking like 2012 and before. What happened??? I dont know. My girlfriend and I used to go there every time we came to the beach, but things got worse and worse.... The food quality went down hill along with the service!! It is so sad. We gave them numerous chances after 2012 but they failed each time. In fact we had Easter lunch there in 2013 with good friends and were totally embarrassed with the food and service. We told our friends "the food is good and reasonable" oh Lord were we wrong!! Sorry for the bad review, but its just the way it is. read more

10 of us dined here last Saturday evening. Reading the reviews here, we didn't expect a whole lot,e specially since we ate here last year and were less than impressed. What a nice surprise to find decent food this year at a great price. My burger was a hand formed patty with tasty fries. The wife had a good BLT. Grandpa's prime rib was a little on the chewy side, however. The crab cakes were large and flavorful. Kids meals were good and very reasonable. I paid for 2 adults and 4 kids and the bill was under $40 even though I had a beer! The prime rib not being prime sets this review at 3 instead of 4 stars. read more

Ended up walking out. We sat there at least 15 minutes and never even got a menu. The waitress seemed lost and couldn't figure out who to wait on. We figured if it was going to take that long for a menu who knows how long it would take to get our food. Luckily Ocean Shores isn't that far away. Too bad because I'm all about supporting MWR.
