This is my first Yelp review, and I had to write it to let others know how great the CLM guys are. I had a problem with my Volvo engine not starting and brought in my car to CLM (per a friend's recommendation) to get it checked out. I had received several varying diagnoses from other mechanics and was unsure about whether the starter or an electrical connection was preventing the car from turning over. The CLM guys checked out my car after a series of questions and diagnosed it as being a starter problem. They quoted me less than other mechanics, and I left my car in their trust (still doubtful that the starter was the main issue). After getting my car back from them, I had trouble again starting the car. As a grad student who is tight on money and commutes to Framingham and Salem 4x/wk for class, I was upset and anxious. I took my car after CLM to two Volvo service centers, and learned that the ignition switch was the culprit. I was infuriated. I had already spent so much time and money by this point, and no longer had enough $ to have the ignition work done after having had the starter replaced at CLM. I called CLM to let them know and was met with understanding and kindness from Mario. He was reassuring and let me know that he could give me a full refund to help. After having spent so much time and money trying to fix this issue and having met so many sleazy mechanics along the way, it was great to be trulyyy taken care of by a real human being. Mario at CLM - thank you SO much for being helpful and understanding. I highly recommend CLM, and will definitely be back for future work (although, hopefully not too soon). The most RUDE auto service (Mario) I ever had to deal with. I have made an appointment for AC check, they made me wait for 2 hours without appologizing, charged me 100$, saying they fixed it (without even giving me a proper print-out from the dignostic or bothering to explain the problem saying they dont have time to answer any questions) and of course the AC did not work. Took my car to CLM 2 weeks ago. I had gone to get my windshield replaced and it had some bubble rust on the roof next to it so I was told I needed to get this repaired before they could replace my windshield. Unfortunately, when the windshield was removed I found out the roof was completely destroyed from a previous windshield replacement that was done incorrectly so the cost skyrocketed from $500 to $2000+ as the entire roof had to be replaced. The time also went from a few days to a couple weeks due to the time required to order the replacement part. Rob was nice enough to loan me his car for a while while I waited for the work to be completed. The car is all set now and you could never tell anything had happened - the paint looks great, and like the other two times I went for body work you couldn't notice any variation in the paint. He also offered to help me work with my insurance company to see if I could get this taken care of due to the faulty work that was done and gave me the work quote to send to the insurance company. I have no issues recommending CLM for any sort of body work as this was very complex job and it turned out great! read more

I was having an issue with my temperature gauge going all the way to hot and then back in the middle. This went on for a few days. I took it by CLM on Saturday and Mario immediately took it in and diagnosed the issue even though they were very busy and I didn't have an appointment. Turns out the bottom of my radiator had rusted out and I was losing fluid. A few hours later I was back on the road with no more issue. OK these guys are THE best! BIG thank you to Rob, especially! A branch fell on my car in the middle of the night during a storm a couple of months ago and caused quite a lot of damage (completely knocked out the back windshield, several scratches, messed up the bumper, among other things.) Luckily the car was driveable, so I dropped it off at the shop the next day. I explained my situation and Rob said he would take care of me, which he did! Insurance covered the cost of damage, but he was very nice, and did a fantastic job on the car. It looks brand new! I've been going to CLM for minor repairs for several years now. Every winter for the past several they have tightened the clamps on the fuel hoses inside my 2002 Subaru wagon (apparently they are known to leak when cold; the first real cold day it always smells like a gas station when we turn the heat on, until we have the clamps tightened). They have always been quick and inexpensive; this year they were busy but squeezed me in, and then didn't even charge in the end (maybe because I had to leave the car there the whole day? still, it made my day, especially since I unexpectedly had to get both my furnace and my dryer repaired on the same day). They always explain clearly; they have never talked down to me the way I've had other mechanics do; they can be gruff but are always straight-forward. The only downside to this shop is that there is very little parking on the streets around it. Worth the hassle, in my opinion. Highly recommend. Mario is a peach. read more

Over the past 8 years, I have gone to these guys in a pinch since they're near my job. Usually they will give you a decent deal. They don't generally over charge and sometimes they're kind of cheap. One time, my heat that was gone and my engine was overheating....in 3 hours time, they looked, diagnosed, called me, only $280 for a new radiator and this included labor, and I could pick it up.Sometimes the customer service is on the colder side but part of that might be because they're always so busy. They have a small space to work with, so they're constantly moving cars in and out. I find that they're rough around the edges. A few times they have forgotten to call me to let me know my car was ready for pick-up. Sometimes I find myself going back because a problem they were suppose to fix is still present. BUT they do usually own it and fix it (sometimes they look at me, like "Hey woman, did you tamper with this?" but even then they will fix it. read more

These guys are just plain honest and do good work. Their prices are fair, and if you need something done fast, they can usually make it happen. I've had them replace a radiator, a clutch, and most recently an AC compressor. As I was paying for the AC compressor I mentioned that less than two years prior a different mechanic had installed a used AC compressor (when I had paid for a new one). On the spot, Mario increased his warranty from the standard one year to two years. I hadn't even asked; Mario was just being a good guy. Highly recommend CLM! read more

I decided to go to CLM based on their good yelp reviews. I ended up getting my brakes replaced in addition to an oil change. Apparently it was a really tough job, the rotors and pads were rusted into place due to me not driving very frequently. Despite this challenge they still charged me the originally quoted price - which is a totally stand-up move and very rare in most time/materials service industries. read more

I took my car to CLM a few months ago now and had an awesome experience. the entire car breaking down experience was pretty miserable but once I got it to CLM things went much better. Basically, several tows and several days after my car broke down, I called them to get a quote after seeing their great reviews on yelp. I had my car towed from the dealer that evening (AAA won't tow it unless you're there and I had to go after work). The tow truck guy thought there wouldn't be anyplace to put the car since there's no lot at CLM and they were closed. I was freaking out- wasn't sure what to do at that point. I had him bring it there anyway, and the owner was there waiting for my car (this was at like 8:30 pm, long after close)! It was like a godsend after the worst week ever. I don't even remember if I gave the owner my name but I had spoken with him earlier and told him I was bringing it. They did a great job with my car and gave me a great price. Been going here for three years, and my car is old, so often, and not once have I had a problem. In my 40 years of driving I've dealt with a number of body shops and I can honestly say these guys are the fairest, most responsive and fastest I've come across. I hit a truck tire on the Mass Pike in my VW Golf. It did in my front end but these guys explained my options, helped me connect to my insurance group and even kept the car for a couple of days while I was out of town, before I could pick it up. I was a customer for a while until last week took my van in for change tires decided while there to get a tune up in preparation for winter. And that's when everything went down hill by the time I got to the museum of science tried putting heat on and only cold air was blowing out also noticed the thermostat was close to H so ended up pulling over calling them bob said maybe I needed coolant And that I should drive to the nearest autozone and get some coolant and that if it continued to bring car back the next day. I asked him if checking fluids and coolant was not included in the tune up he said no so as I'm not a mechanic did what he suggested got some coolant not 2 long as I was driving home on 93 had to pull over again and ended up getting car towed to them that same night. The next morning called to explain my issues and Mario became defensive I was simply trying to have him explain what he thought the problem was so I can understand being that I'm not a mechanic he told me not to even go there with him and place blame on his guys and that our relationship would end. That being said i asked him why he felt I couldn't question him or his guys job he said because he has been in business for over 30 years . He than proceeded to tell me that it was the radiator and not the head gas cap as I was asking about . The next day I went to pick up my car and reminded him that his shop had replaced my radiator lol less than 1 year and half again he became hostile upset and told me he remembers that his shop indeed replaced the radiator less than 1 year and half and that if I didn't want to pay him for replacing it again I didn't have to but that he didn't want to see my car at his shop again. He was extremely rude and offensive and dismissive threw my keys across the counter and told me to leave his shop.the issues only continue had to take my car to Honda weymouth where they are saying I now need a new engine due to the head gas cap leaking and I will also need another radiator. read more

They saw me without an appointment for a tire change, told me that I could buy a new tire or go to the junkyard down the street and buy a cheaper one for 1/3 of the price, and then when I bought the tire, told me to exchange it because of a weak point.
