Incredible customer service, honesty, and not trying to rip you off!!! I called today, 12/16/13, at 5:45pm to ask if I could bring a car for them to look over at 6pm, even though they normally close at 6pm. I spoke to Rob, and he said I could bring the car at 6pm even though they normally close at 6pm. Rob looked at my bumper, walked me through different options for repairing it, explained the cost of each option, and showed me a diagram of the car on a computer to explain what was wrong, what parts he thought he would have to get, what the cost would be, etc. He then spent additional time performing a closer inspection. He realized that it was not damaged as badly as he initally thought, and he then went to work right then and there on the spot putting the bumper back in place. he figured out that he would not need to order any new parts and was able to bang/fit the bumper back in place. he was honest in telling me there was no need to pay for new parts and did work for free. This entire exchange lasted about 30-45 minutes. He then said he would do some more work for free to not just keep the bumper in place but make it look better, but he had to go pick up his kid. so, he suggested i come by tomorrow morning and offered to then perform free labor and materials in making the bumper look nicer! i tried to offer him some money for his efforts, even taking out cash to hand to Rob, but he refused to accept it! although the work he did on the spot just using his hands and his knowledge of cars was not particularly extensive, he could have atttempted to get me to pay thousands to replace the bumper entirely and do unnecessary work, but he didn't do that and instead was honest about the situation. Rob's integrity, honesty, knowledge, and helpfulness were truly impressive! I will plan to post an update after tomorrow morning, 12/17/13, to let you know how things went with making the bumper look nice. Update on 12/17/13: i brought the car in, and within 15 minutes or so rob had removed the paint transfer and fastened the bumper back into place -- it looks so much better than before i brought it in and is much more securely in place. rob did all this without accepting any money -- thank you rob and clm! read more

There are 4 brothers. Mario and Carlos do the mechanical work and Robert and Paulie do the body work. It's always hard to find Good, Competent, and Honest car repair and body shop especially with a fair price.These guys are the real deal. A co-worker mentioned CLM and highly recommended them. At first I would always check with the dealer to compare the price. CLM averaged 50% to 70%. I haven't done that after the first few visits. From the first time and over the last 12 years I have always been treated very well. Since I've been going there for so long I have gotten to know almost every one there. Great guys, very friendly AND very hard working. Some of the cars I've owned have required a lot of work. Mario always took care of me. Only one time have I had to leave a car overnight because they can do most repairs in under 8 hours. Same day service almost every time. When I needed body work Robert took care of me. The paint looked the same as factory OEM quality. Due to their success they built a new beautiful building. I have sent many people there and have always been thanked for the recommendation. Also, they never try to upsell. In fact many times Mario has said I didn't nee the repair or I could wait a while since it wasn't urgent. Women need not worry about this repair shop. They don't take advantage of women like Most do. Only down side is parking because of construction of large building across the street. They have to spend time moving cars around but they're used to it and do a great job. Also Jill and Bobby take care of office/waiting room. Very friendly and funny. These guys are amazing. I have been changing mechanic until I went to CLM. After 5 years of taking my car to CLM, I realize that they are not just good at repairing, but also, the most importantly, they are very honest. They charge exactly what they have done, with very affordable price. They have done a great job on my old and sloppy car (96 TOYOTA Camry) for 5 years, such as the water pump, the gas door, the suspension, the battery, the cruise control engine... the list goes on and on. Sometimes I don't exactly know what they explained to me, but I trust them 100% and pay whatever they want me to pay, because I know they would never lie to me and the price is probably half of other franchise store. I want especially thank to Mario. He is a very sharp and straightforward guy, but with a kind heart. He knows exactly what I want and charge me the price that fits my budget. He sometimes did some minor jobs for me for free. He has also fixed a life-threatening problem for me for very low price. I figure that he probably didn't charge me the labor fee. I am now leaving the US soon in just a few months. I will get rid of my car and probably wouldn't need to go to the CLM for car repairing anymore even though when I come back to US for short stay. Let me warn you. DO NOT take your car at CLM. I got my check engine light on while filling a gas. Later I found out it was because of broken temp gauze which is easily fixable for $250-200. I dropped the car and later they said they fixed it. Ten minutes after picking up my car, the check engine light came back on. I went to the shop and this time I meet this guy Mario who is owner of the shop who looked into it and denied the check engine light came because of temperature gauze which they said replaced new one. He said it would cost me another $800 to diagnose and change sensor. I left and took it to another mechanic. Found out from another mechanic they have replaced my temperature gauze with USED parts from another car. As he pulled me and showed me when I step in. TOTAL FRAUD REPLACE USED PARTS and make money. The other repair shop fix my car for $300. In total I would have spent $300 but now I end spending $550. Mario the owner seems to talk sweet but this guy knows when to fuck you off. read more

After a long 7 hour- drive to Boston to cheer for the walkers participating in the breast cancer walk this weekend, I was frustrated to find out that the backdoor to my car would not open. I couldn't get any of the stuff that I had brought with me to give out (candy, gum, toiletries, etc). I looked on Yelp and found CLM Auto Repair, took my car in, turns out one of the parts was damaged. Rob was so incredible, he and Juan assessed the situation, replaced my damaged part, and I was in and out of there in less than 15 minutes. After finding out my purpose for being in Boston, Rob donated thecar part and labor time to the cause, saying, " I support Breast Cancer Awareness and I'd like to donate my time." CLM is great because they are honest! We used to take our 2 ~15 year old cars to them while living in Cambridge, always with excellent results. Then we moved to JP, and when we needed a muffler replaced went to a mechanic down the street rather than battle traffic back to Cambridge. That was a mistake - I was told we needed to replace practically the entire exhaust system (~$1800), and that it wasn't worth it because my car was worth $200! I looked into donating my car, but decided that I wanted a second opinion before I did. So back to CLM I went, and guess what - Mario replaced the muffler and fixed whatever needed fixing for $400! My car now runs well (other than the usual rattles!). Mario can be gruff, but I'll take that any day to a sweet-talking "friendly" mechanic! read more

CLM was recommended by (literally) everyone I work with, so I brought my car over to get a quote for repairs after I got in a rear-ender. Rob was so nice and straightforward. He walked me through the process since I hadn't been in an accident before, and after getting my car back yesterday, I really couldn't be happier. It looks brand new, and they fixed it for an extremely fair price. They even cleaned my car, inside and out! Being someone who doesn't know much about cars, I was a little worried I would get ripped off, but after talking to a friend who has worked in auto shops his whole working life, he said I definitely went to the right place. Phenomenal Service. I took my Toyota Tundra to CLM and Mario told me exactly what was wrong and what it was going to take to fix it. No BS just thorough and to the point. CLM has Knowledgeable and Skilled Mechanics. They don't try and sell you things you don't need. The are great at diagnosing the problem with your vehicle and repairing at very reasonable prices and you won't need to keep bringing your vehicle back because they repair it correctly the first time. Friday, December 27, 2013. We traveled from Virginia to Cambridge for family funeral. On the way we heard the breaks scraping. We asked our hotel what was the best auto repair they recommended CLM auto repair. We called, we went and Mario gaves his absolute best recommendation. I was visiting MIT from PA when my Jeep began to shift at inappropriate times and the check engine light came on. Didn't want to try to drive 360 miles home that way. Honest, simple experience. I never felt pressured to get unnecessary work done or spend a lot of money. Radiator replacement on my Prius ended up being a lot more labor intensive than expected, but Mario kept his word on the original quote. Just picked up my car and am extraordinarily happy! Someone rammed into my car while parked and I had to get the door replaced. The guys at CLM went above and beyond this task and touched up the paint and fixed some other minor body damage. When I also had to get the brake rotors replaced, they gave me a good deal. I just had my first major repair in Cambridge and it was painless thanks to CLM! I was a stranger, and they took me in. I was out-of-towner with car trouble, and they treated me like a regular. Called in at 8 and by 1 they had replaced a ball joint and spindle while we had a leisurely breakfast at S&S, and stopped by Christine's for a fresh supply of spices.
