My wife left a review but was removed so I'll add my own. I'm not sure if the brewery asks for reviews to be removed from yelp or not. We sat outside on a beautiful day. On multiple occasions, our waiter forgot our food and drink order. I wasn't pleased with the food. I ordered a chicken sandwich which was not appetizing. Looks like something I could make in five minutes at home. My children ordered a pizza pretzel that had no cheese and two pepperoni on it. The waiter even acknowledged this as he gave it to us. We waited for the bill for 20 minutes after the last time he came to our table so we went in and had to do it ourselves. read more

We went for drinks and had a great time. We were told to sit wherever we wanted and a serve came right away. We tried a flight to see what we would end up wanting in a full size. When our waiter came back, he gave us some ideas based on what we like and was super helpful. We loved the beers we had! The place is a little tight but there is outdoor seating. There's good signage to know where the main entrance is when you start walking up. Their merch is along the far wall from when you get there. Clock House has quietly become one of the most interesting breweries in the corridor area. They have a nice little taproom with an outdoor seating area, and the variety of their beers is tremendous. My eyes light up when I see one that a new one of their sours is slated for release. Throughout the year they release new items that vary wildly in style and many are highly popular in the area (and wildly popular with my taste buds) with some of their can releases accompanied by a rush at the release time and being sold out no too long after - that's when you know they are brewing something right. read more

Nestled next to Black Sheep, Clockhouse is easily overlooked which is a shame. Clockhouse offers one of the best selections of locally brewed small batch beer in the area. The flavors are unique and varied and always very tasty. The owner is incredibly passionate about his beer and his love for his craft is obvious. While they don't have a full menu of food, there is enough to satisfy any cravings you may have while enjoying a pint. Plus, the newly opened patio is wonderful! Update: Tried the food... not near as tasty as I was hoping... I ordered the pulled chicken Sammie with fries....very, very, dry. It had bbq sauce mixed in, which I prefer to add my own. I didn't drink beer in college. Like.. at all. But that wasn't necessarily a bad thing? Thirty racks and the cheapest kegs available were always what was bought-- so thanks, but no thanks. Then I moved to Denver. And I got fully immersed in craft beer. Flights are my jam, yo. I'll try any beer once. (But I typically fall for the darkest brew of them all -- stouts will forever own my heart.) And here I am, back in Iowa City and my inner beer snob is in deep depression. Sure, there's Big Grove, Backpocket... Kalona, Millstream... ReUnion, Lionbridge... Thew, Iowa... A PLETHORA. But nothing undiscovered, nothing NEW. ** Enter CLOCK HOUSE BREWING ** I had never heard of it. Then once I had-- I couldn't stop thinking about it. I decided I'd better check them out. So I popped the address in the GPS annnnnnnd ended up at Black Sheep Social Club?! Hmmmm... I stood there a minute then looked up, seeing the sign for the brewery-- but no door? Some freaking Harry Potter sh*t. I ALMOST went running into the wall at full speed ... (no I didn't)... so I walked into Black Sheep and confused, asked the hostess where Clock House Brewing is. She half smiles and points down the hall. AHH. You have to walk through Black Sheep to get to the entrance, not a wall. Good to know. This brewery isn't even two years old yet. There's a bar, a few TVs and plethora of high top seating, all with the brewery out in the open. (When I was there, the brewmaster was hard at work-- kind of cool to see up close and personal.) Additionally, they put in a patio which I can't wait to sit on. Duh. I ordered a flight (Four for $7)-- I think there were ten options to choose from? I liked every single beer. As I mentioned earlier, I am all for dark beers but newer breweries sometimes haven't perfected them. Not the case here! I had an Oatmeal Milk Stout and a Cherry Porter that were both excellent but the star is NEIPA Witch Slap. I was starving so we also ordered some pretzel bites. The mustard and cheese were great-- and the app itself was very fresh. I'd totally recommend these. Their menu is limited (like a dozen or so items) and come from the Black Sheep's kitchen. Our waiter was fabulous. Pricing seemed on point. Not sure about parking? And finally, we met the brewmaster/co-owner and he was a very friendly, passionate guy. Perhaps my review may be a bit skewed because my drink and appetizers came from Black Sheep, but I can give a perspective for the non-beer drinkers. We've always sat in the Black Sheep side, but our group wanted to try the beer flights and bar atmosphere. Actually, I didn't even know the bar was there. I've always walked by the kegs on the way to the restrooms, but didn't pay attention to the walkway into the Clock House. We sat at high top tables and our server was helpful in selecting the beer for flights. A couple of house favorites were sold out. Our server was not able to order cocktails from Black Sheep, but we could walk through the connecting door, order, and bring back into the Click House. It was easy. The menu is also a small sample from the Black Sheep menu. Instead of being served in Black Sheep dishes, it was served more bar-like; in a large tin coaster with decorative paper. The Clock House is one of my favorite breweries I have been to in a long time. The staff is super friendly. This is a family brewery. We were told their daughter creates all the art work. As we were leaving the owner was returning from the craft brewfest in Des Moines so we got to talk to him. They had an AMAZING cherry beer on tap. Unfortunately they were sold out of cans so we couldn't take that one with us. read more

Honestly this is probably one of my favorite bars to go to in Cedar Rapids. Clockhouse Brewery has several different types of beer they brew for all sorts of beer drinkers. My favorite beer they have made was their Pineapple Witch Slap Hazy NE IPA. They're most common beer called Witch Slap is very delicious in and of itself. This brewery is always fun to go to, to hang out with friends inside or on their outside patio. Clockhouse has many fabulous beer releases. Definitely a must visit place for anyone that's never been! Always looking to check out new breweries in the area so was excited to see a new brewery pop up when googling Cedar Rapids Brewery. They open at 3pm and I was there right when they opened up and just in time for the start of Happy Hour, which is $1 off your beer. It was a tad confusing when first walking up since you have to go through Black Sheep Social Club. But don't be discouraged just walk straight to the back and you'll see the entrance. The brewery is very open concept with all the brewing equipment right behind the bar. I had their Rye Ale called Mud in your Rye and Hell to Pay which was a lighter beer. Both were very good and very crisp not cloudy, overall I'd say great quality beer. They serve food but I didn't try anything. They also have a few TV's around the bar. I look forward to making this a regular stop! read more

Clockhouse Brewery has been consistently pumping out some of the most creative, well balanced, and delicious beers in Iowa, and they remain underrated! Their Sours stand out as the best in the state, and their dark beer rival Big Grove and Lion Bridge. Their hazys have always put up a delicious fight and they take second place behind Big Grove for me, but it is a close race and Clockhouse never disappoints! I love checking out new breweries while I'm visiting the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area. The atmosphere was very welcoming, the food was great(try the duck fries) but the best part was the beer and staff! We had flights and every beer was great! Blake was very friendly and knowledgeable about beer. He went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, I will definitely be back next time I'm in for a Hawkeye game!! Service service service.....SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS!!! The only reason why it's getting 2 stars is because the beer was good. Got there and immediately was served beers. After that, Gage, our "waiter", was obsolete. I finished my first beer and asked him for another and it never came. Finally, the other three gentlemen that I was with, one had to snap his fingers to get Gage's attention (I'm not a fan of this technique but it worked) ordered a beer, I was finally able to get the one I ordered 10 mins earlier. Right after he brought our beers he wanted to know if we were all on the same ticket...after all, it was dangerously close to their closing hour of 8 PM. 8 PM and they're a brewery!?!?!? Whatever. Gage finally comes back, after running my card, and apologizes that he "forgot about our table, because they were hosting a Yelp event". REALLY?!?!?!?! Guess who also yelps you dumbass....this guy!! I am in no hurry about going back here anytime soon! read more

Looks like a nice space, but we were summarily ignored by our server. My husband & and I were on a date night while our daughter was at a party. The server brought us menus & offered to bring us samples of any of the dozen or so brews on their list, but never returned. We waited at least 15 minutes, & when she went to serve a table adjacent to ours without so much as acknowledging our presence, we left. Nowhere near a nice as the Black Sheep next door, with which I suspect it shares a kitchen. We will not go back. Went a few blocks away to the White Star Ale House, which had a much more extensive list of brews on tap, a nice food menu, and an extremely attentive & personable staff. Glad we did NOT spend out time or money at Clock House. read more
