I always have such good luck here! Frequently went to the Southie location and followed them to the current Malden one. Consigned and shopped - great experiences. Both owners are very personable and welcoming. Guaranteed to find a hidden treasure @ every visit. Got my nails done right after leaving down the road and showed the manicurist these Tory Burch super cute white slip-on shoes that were a size too small from Closet Consignment's Facebook page. She got up and ran down the street and scooped them up. They were her size LOL. read more

I have been here a few times now and each time I find something worth buying. I think they could use a bit more light here, as the dressing room is a bit dark. I think the employees are nice and helpful. The prices are fair and the quailty is good to very good. I like that she is open on Sundays at 11am as I love to go shopping early and often because I love consignment! read more

Pleasantly surprised!! I wouldn't rate it 5 stars since the selection when I went wasn't the best. But they get shipments everyday! I struck luck when I found an amazing H&M skirt for $19 bucks on the rack! I'd say the original price was around $30 but it looked and felt brand new. I also bought a pair of earrings that I now adore. The cherry on top was the woman at the counter who I believe owns the shop. She is a sweetheart and I love giving my business to good people. The selection for shopping is great but as a consignee my experience was less than. I consigned two items. One of them was brand new, and had never been worn, the other had been worn. The lovely sales associate and I agreed upon an initial selling price of the new item and the used piece was of course less (don't remember amount), but in perfect condition. I agreed to their terms, bought a pair of slacks that she took $5 off and went on my way. When I returned to the shop to collect my money for the item that sold, I was surprised at the amount I was compensated for. When I questioned the owner about this she simply stated that "they must have been on sale", so I asked "when was it sold?" I learned that the first week of July was when I consigned the pieces, but fewer than three weeks later she had accepted 50% less then the agreed upon amount. I have worked in retail and know, as we all do, that items go on sale when the end of the season is approaching or after the season has ended. Keep in mind when signing their contract that no matter what you had mutually agreed upon for a selling price is not going to be honored. Random sales take place at the owner's discretion, so if you expect incremental discounts (i.e.like other consignment stores) your items will sell at whatever she can sell it for. Also, the other item I consigned was ruined and she never offered to pay to have it repaired. This is a CONSIGNOR BEWARE shop! read more

I am what French une habituee of consignment store. Paris, NYC, Montreal, Montpellier, London, Sheffield... Wherever I go, for a weekend or for a longer stay, I make a point to shop in two or three second hand shop. So I know how to spot a good/terrible one when I see it. And closet consignment is definitely a gem. you can find high end designer and retail one, depending on your luck, European or local and always fairly priced (no HM or F21 for more than 40 bucks, yes Mesdames I saw that in other Bostonian store). The owner is SO friendly and super accommodating, always willing to answer questions (of which I usually have too many). They are super active on social media (her FB Lives are amazing) which sets it apart for me, I like the convenience of being able to check stuff out without going to the store and she'll always send additional pictures/answer questions right away. I ended up purchasing the cutest banana republic dress with the tags still on them. The store definitely carries a great selection that ranges from David yurman to banana republic. I have also consigned items there as well and the owners make the process easy and painless. This is definitely a stop ill be making frequently on my Saturday morning errands run. I have to say I'm extremely disappointed with my last experience here. The first time I consigned here I brought in a ton of really great designer stuff and was paid a fair amount in a timely fashion. The second time however, was a very different story. I brought bag loads of a designer stuff, some of it never worn, and was told that it only made $26. And I had to track them down to try to get paid after months of receiving nothing. I understand how consigning works, I've been doing it for many years. It can be hit or miss and I get that, but knowing the fashion retail market as well as I do, I do feel that in this case something shady went down. I believe my other items were probably sold and that I was not paid for them. I will not consign here in the future and I would not recommend it to anyone else. read more

As a consignor Closet Connection is great. They are easy to consign with, get your merchandise on the floor fast and are quick and efficient with payment. I try not to shop here since I am trying to clean out my closets! But they do have some good things at reasonable prices. The owners are really nice and the overall I am glad to have the store in Southie. read more
