They priced their items fairly, they don't seem to do too much of a mark up on the consignment or on the retail.Some of their sizes go up to 16 or 2XL, but there's a lot less variety for those sizes. This is a very cute shop. I made an appointment before actually stepping foot inside to sell some gently used clothes. Apparently they fill up for these appointments way in advance. I had to wait a few weeks before I could get in on a Saturday. I can't remember exactly but I think they offer either 30% back cash or 50% Store Credit (Keep in mind that is the percentage of what they would sell it for, Not what you paid/ what you think it is valued at.) Bottom Line: I got rid of a few pieces I hadn't worn in a while/ wasn't planning to wear AND got a little chunk of store credit to spend next time I'm in the area. Helpful: They don't take Cocktail Wear/ Dressy Clothes. The only dresses they took of mine were casual Calvin Klein sundresses. (The ladies there are very particular about what they will and will not take -- but it's only because they have to be mindful of what will and will not sell to their clientelle.) I hauled in way more than they actually took so maybe call before you tote 1/5 of your wardrobe there. Overall they had cute stuff in there. Half the store was re-sale and the other half was more specialty boutique. All in all it's a great addition to Salem and Washington St. read more

Terrific men's store (Re-Find Men's) on Washington Street in downtown Salem. Classy/Hip new items, shirts, etc. and pretty selectively chosen, previously-owned shirts and sweaters. From a quality, condition standpoint, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference with most of these. If a guy is looking for something that's unlikely to be found somewhere else, or at least the North Shore area, try here. Yea, and the ladies working there may always tell you you look good, but they are pretty believable, so go with it. read more

Re-Find is Salem's best hidden gem. The set up of the store is half consignment and half new, making it so fun to shop. I go there about once a week and there's always something new! I lived in Salem for 7 years and started out as a customer of the Re-Find women's store (see my review on their page). After being impressed with the women's store, I was so happy to see the mens store open up and started shopping there frequently for my husband. There are a few things that I love about Re-Find Men's. First, they always have unique items that I don't see in other stores. Second, the prices are very reasonable for high quality items. Third is the service, there's always someone in the store that can show you new items or help to put together an outfit (not my specialty!). Love, love, love Re-Find, both women's and men's. Every time I wear something I purchased from here, I receive compliments nonstop. The selection is funky, cute, and different- and *gasp* affordable. Every time I walk in, I just want to grab everything off the racks and buy it all. It is an issue. I am sometimes stylistically unsure as far as clothing goes, bouncing between is this a yay or a nay. The women that work here are pleasantly helpful, and while you would expect them to always claim it all looks great, I have actually been kindly advised against clothing here. I know this may sound strange to include in a glowing review, but it really is telling of the level of kindness and class you will find at Re-Find. The owner and staff are always so helpful, yet somehow manage to not be pushy- how great! My fiance scored a great pair of Guess jeans for around 30 dollars- WHAT! You best Re-Find yourself another store if you want to be treated in a respectful, customer-focused and non-condescending manner by the owner of said shop. I have purchased a handful of items at Re-Find, a small consignment store in Salem that sells both used and new merchandise. The selection is decent and the store is a bit charming. I was hoping I would be treated with a smidgen of charm upon my recent visit to return a pair of new pants (note "not-previously-worn") which have been sitting in my car for a admitted a few months now. Salem is not the most convenient place to travel in and out of, and happens to be an hour from where I live. I made a special trip during lunch to go and *finally* exchange those darn pants that have been in my back seat, with the tag, the original bag, the receipt in tow. I went in to the store to be told by the clerk that there are no refunds and no exchanges. She did point to the sign above the register and noted that it is store policy. Acknowledging this, I inquired about this policy and its applicability to *new* merchandise. I understood she does not have the decision-making power. She called the owner on the phone who repeated no refunds or exchanges and said I can go down the street to the Men's Re-Find store and talk with her in person. So I walked on down the cute streets of Salem, walked and the owner was waiting. I explained I was just speaking to the clerk and she explained the policy and I explained my situation, and the owner so curtly responded 'that's our policy, what am I supposed to do with the pants? If you came a week later I could have made an exception, but now I can't." I said I understand your logic regarding used-clothing, but why can't you make an exchange, even if it's an exception, for new pants for a customer? After all don't you sell used clothing from previous years?? And hey, if you're not going to budge on your ridiculous policy, there is NO need to be rude and short with a customer. She said no exceptions in a very very rude, curt and condescending manner. I said she lost a customer and her reply was 'happy holidays' as I walked out the door. Doesn't logic point to the fact that Re-find exists to sell clothing previously owned by another. She clearly does not have much faith in her own buying purchases if she won't even take back her own pants. Okay, so I understand policies. I worked, invent, and debate policies all day. I own a small business. I know many owners of clothing stores. It should always be about the customer, after-all, don't you exist because we all shop at your store? The pants were only $25 dollars. It is not the price but the principle. I wanted to exchange it, or at least be greeted with understanding and a bit of empathy, and would have loved to have gotten some other cute something and purchased more cute stuff from your store. But I will never ever go back. She was just rude. I hate to say this, but please, there are so many small business competing today with nice people offering nice things with a human side. I am NOT impressed at all, and I will re-find my xmas shopping and personal shopping at a number of other boutiques with owners who understand customer-interaction and value. Simply put, she could have cared less. Also I ventured next door to the Taste of Thyme Café and loveliness of the man behind the counter sweetened my experience. Please go there! Noticed Re-find when I was taking the bus one day. Vowed to go back in - and whoever the person is that's doing the buying for the store is - THANK YOU. I agree with whoever said, the prices are actually reasonable! I was doing a double take at a few tags. It's not super clear what is new and what is consignment - I think the consignment is on the outside racks, and the sizing is more geared to small and mediums - but I have hope. The staff is a little syrupy for me, but I only say this from overhearing them talk to other people - they didn't bother me, and I know some people like to chit chat about nothing. Stumbled upon this shop while walking around downtown Salem and I am so glad I found it! It's a great little boutique/consignment shop with tons of cute clothes and great prices. As Misty said, compared to other shops in Salem these prices are great. The prices match the quality of the apparel as well which is pretty rad. I liked almost every article of clothing I saw. I tried on a few skirts and two dresses and ended up leaving with the dresses. The woman who worked there was sweet, friendly and helpful. I absolutely love the stylistic choices, the atmosphere, and the very friendly owner and staff at re-find. What a wonderful, local boutique! I primarily visited the store because many of my female friends have raved about their lined leggings (they ARE very comfy and an incredible price point). However, after 2 gentle, cold hand-washes, my leggings are beginning to pill--and what's weirder is that they smell like chemicals, and have smelled that way since I first put them on. My good friend bought some the week before I went and her leggings have pilling problems but absolutely no smell. So it is very possible that a bad batch came in. I also bought a few SUPER CUTE, unique and very comfy dresses while I was there. As another reviewer wrote, I get compliments whenever I wear them. One such dress I have worn just once, and that, too, is experiencing pilling under the arms. The point of this review is not at all to complain but to share my observations about the quality of the clothing that I personally purchased there. read more

Went in on a whim and loved it. They had quirky stuff and friendly staff. They were quick to offer a dressing room when I found a dress I liked and they were pleasant to converse with when they checked out my purchases and despite the store's small size they presented their items very well to show off accessories and possible outfit ideas. I had the SAME experience as Em M. I bought a Christmas gift for my father and specifically asked before purchasing if the item could be returned. I too kept the tags and receipt to ensure it was returnable. I visited the store today to return the item and was told they do not accept returns. The women working insisted that no one could have told me the item was returnable because it was against policy and tried to make it seem like I was trying to pull one over on her. I could not have been treated with more outright disrespect. I have come to the conclusion that it is their "policy" to lie and mislead customers into thinking they will be able to bring items back and when they try to, embarrass them by refusing to honor their first made up "policy" the day the item was purchased. I will without a doubt NEVER be returning to this store due to the extremely inept staff and absolutely outrageous customer service. I advise anyone who intends to visit to proceed with caution as the staff apparently makes up a new "policy" with every purchase. read more

I bought my brother a belt for Christmas, and before purchasing asked the lady working if it could be returned. She said yes, with a receipt. I saved the receipt, and as he did not like it, he went to return it. Nora was extremely rude and told us we could not return the belt, and there was nothing she could do. She kept insisting "it was not their policy" to accept returns. I am positive the woman working the day I purchased the belt told me they did accept returns. I called back to ask why she would not let my brother return the belt, and she could not have been more rude or sarcastic in her tone. I am a Salem resident and was excited to find such a neat new store. I will never go back now, Horrible customer service and overall rude and arrogant. Never go. read more

I cannot say enough good things about this store! Re-Find is by far my FAVORITE boutique on the North Shore (and beyond!) From the chic window displays, friendly & helpful staff to the unbeatable prices for unique, stylish clothing. This store is usually my first (and last!) stop whenever I'm looking for stylish work pieces, comfy & casual weekend clothes and even special, unique dressier items (skirts, dresses, accessories.) I get SO many compliments on all my Re-Find purchases. Some of my favorites are every day basics like leggings, tank tops and camisoles. I went in over the weekend and got amazingly cute and cozy fleece lined leggings ($12) and an adorable, unique tank top for $15! The prices are so affordable but the clothes are much more special than you can find at the mall or other big stores. Not only can you get the "basics" there (jeans, tanks, cardigans) but my favorite are the totally unique, stylish pieces that you can't find at the mall. I have many great dresses and tops from here that you know no one else has. I tend to do most of my shopping on the new merchandise side of the store and always find items that feel "one-of-a-kind." Plus, the staff is so accommodating and always willing to help you assemble the perfect outfit without making you feel like you have to buy everything in the store. The shop owner (Shelley...who, by the way, has THE most AMAZING sense of style) is great at suggesting items that you might have at home (belt, boots, etc) to complete an outfit. Shelley and everyone that works there go out of their way to make you feel comfortable and have fun while you browse and try on. Not to mention how they go ABOVE and beyond for their customers. Shelley has even loaned me pieces of her personal collection to "complete" an outfit, stayed open later than closing time so I could shop and generously made an exception when my boyfriend wanted to exchange an item I bought him from the men's store. (Re-Find Men's is right around the corner on Essex St and has the same great style, prices and friendly staff.) Now he has a super soft, amazingly comfy sweatshirt that I can't get him out of! Both the men's and women's shop are constantly bringing in new merchandise. Every time I go in, they have great new items and an ever-changing window display with great fashion ideas. Salem is lucky to have such a wonderful boutique with great style and amazing staff. Re-Find proves that you can keep up with the trends without breaking the bank or sacrificing quality. A good small new and resale clothing boutique in downtown Salem. I went to the men's store by appointment (about 2-3 weeks out) to trade-in some shirts and sweaters for credit. They took far fewer items than I expected, but I guess that's a good sign as they are very selective. Picked up a few used pants and shirts which were in great condition. They were fair on the trade-in and purchase prices. Not sure I would buy any of their new clothing, but I would pick up new accessories (belts, wallets, hats). It is one of my favorite boutiques on the Northshore because each time i walk in there are new items. The business owner Shelly (as I write this I realize I have no idea how to spell her name ) prices her new items reasonably and does a fantastic job at choosing reclaimed items for her shoppers. The name is a bit misleading..... Yes they have many consignment pieces BUT re-find also has brand new boutique clothing! Some of their non-consignment/new clothes are awesome and they have an unbelievable sale rack in the back. They also sell super soft one-size-fits-most leggings in prints, solids, and different lengths for like $10 (if I remember correctly) and they do not stretch out or loose their shape. My mom is about a size 8, in a size 2... We've shared a pair and they fit us both. They also last, don't fade, and again don't get stretched out or look old and gross after many wears.. like what you would expect for the price. They're great. The boutique clothes are awesome and the staff is so nice, friendly, helpful, and not pushy. I haven't purchased any consignment items and I haven't dropped off any consignment clothes either, but from what I have seen the owner does a great job hand selecting the articles she allows in her store. This isn't just a consignment shop. The display items are not just teasers of what the best merchandise looks like but a statement of what you'll find inside. Classic, feminine, up-to-date style with lots of variety are the words I use to describe Re-find to my girlfriends. The store is split between new clothes that you can find at Anthropologie for 3x the price and used clothing. The used clothing ranges in sizes to fit short, tall, thin and curvy women aged 18-40. The clothing selected to sell in this store is clean, stylish and besides not having a brand new tag attached... could be mistaken for new. From casual weekend wear to classy professional you will be glad you stopped by. I couldn't find something over $40 in this store so you can easily fill a bag or two with $100. Or better yet, bring in some of your used clothing that is in good shape and trade it in (you have the option to sell but why not get something new to you and stylish while you're there?). It is hard to locate other than the 72 in the door but it is about 3 doors down from Ben and Jerry's ice cream. I'm sure you'll enjoy this store as much as I do. read more
