Back of the ~$1800 door, which I was instructed to cover myself with contact paper off Amazon
    Heather H.

I'd like to start by saying that the people at Closet Factory (CF) are generally nice, and I appreciate everyone who came out to the house. Special shout-outs to Alicia, my designer, and Ben, who did most of the installation and fixes. They were both wonderful. The rest of the process was awful. The contract itself was a major red flag. It felt like whoever wrote the contract was afraid that I was going to take advantage of CF, and there were a number of surprises. One was a line-item you have to initial accepting that your finished design may have visible L-brackets. That isn't something their competitors do, and it's not something they show you during the sales process or that you can go see in their showroom. They also can't tell you whether or not your design will require them until you've paid the downpayment and they've sent the design off to their engineers. If that's a deal-breaker, you'll need to beg them to rush it through because normally it takes more than the 3 days you have to get out of your contract. Next up was the payment schedule. Other brands do 50% down, 50% upon completion. CF does 50% down, 40% the morning they come out to start the install, and just 10% upon completion. That means that you've paid 90% before they even start work. If you're not happy with the end result, it doesn't give you a lot of leverage. After that, my project turned into a multi-step install that took over a year to complete. There were numerous surprises and setbacks, as well as a general lack of communication from CF along the way. They typically responded to emails, but I was consistently the one who had to email to ask where we were, when they were coming out next, etc. Since this review is so long, I'm just going to hit the main points. For the tear-out of my existing closet, I had planned to have CF do it and to use the painter they recommended to patch/paint the walls. (CF won't do that.) It's an extra $150 for them to come out on separate days: once to do the tear-out, once to do the install. When I contacted the painter CF recommended, they told me they charge more if they aren't the ones to do tear-out. So I asked the painter to do tear-out, patch, and paint. I told CF I wouldn't need that service after all and asked them to remove it from the quote/bill. It turns out they never included it in the quote, so if they had done it, I would've owed additional money that wasn't in the original quote. At that time, CF was having supply chain issues. They moved their install date repeatedly, which meant I had to move the tear-out date repeatedly (and thus move my work schedule repeatedly). CF apologized and gave me a "discount" that amounted to about half a percent. Yes. Half a percent. The equivalent of getting a nickel off a $100 bill. If anything, that made me more frustrated because it felt like they didn't understand what a massive hassle all of the scheduling and logistics were. When the doors came in, it turned out CF had ordered the wrong style from their manufacturer. I wanted mitered corners; they mistakenly ordered shaker. As a solution, CF offered to charge me more money to let me keep them. Apparently shaker is an upgrade, so if I wanted to pay more, I could keep the "upgrade" instead of getting what I wanted. I declined. For the closet, the biggest issue was a mirrored door. I had requested a full-length mirror. CF offered to do an 80" mirror, which sounded great. Wrong. There's only one manufacturer that makes them in that finish, and that manufacturer isn't great at making them and shipping them safely. In the end, the mirror arrived safely and was installed crooked, with a warp, and with no backing. It turns out mirrors that tall tend to bend, so there was a body-widening warp just around the middle of the mirror, which is just what everyone wants, right? It was also noticeably not level when installed. Apparently they did some finagling with the hinge placement to accommodate the drawers they designed, and maybe there wasn't enough support in the right places. The manufacturer also didn't put any backing on the mirror, so the reflective surface was left exposed. That made it really vulnerable to scratches and impact. After another month, CF backed the mirror with a sticky white film. They'd warned me it would be ugly, but they said they could see about covering it with something to make it look nice. They didn't. I asked twice more about having them cover it that it looks better, but they literally told me to get contact paper off Amazon and cover it myself. If I recall correctly, they charged me about $1800 for the mirror. So that's an $1800 mirror that I have to DIY if I want it to look nice. It's also still not level/square with the rest of the closet, and there's nothing they can do about that. I know CF did the best they could, but in the end, it was a bad experience, and I'm not happy with the final result. I hope this review is useful to other customers.

    Almost finish

The finish product is awesome . The president of the company assisted me through the whole process. Each installer that was sent out was focused on the job, cleaned up behind themeselves each visit. They allowed me to inspect their work each visit. The payment process was a little scary .. but TRUST THE PROCESS. Thank you closet factory for the the work in my prayer room. I was deciding between inspired closets, closet by design, and closet factory. I do not regret my decision! From start to finish they'll earn your business!

A different view of the master closet

We used closet factory to build closets for four bedrooms and in our garage. The entire experience was wonderful and executed to perfection. From our designer Allison to our spectacular installers Brad and Nestor to the admin staff who helped manage installation schedules, everyone did an outstanding job. We could not not be more pleased with the product. I was concerned because we were not even in Texas when the job was completed but they took care of every detail. I would recommend CF, Allison and Brad/ Nestor very highly to anyone who is considering closets in their house.

    Maximizing capacity in every way.

We had the occasion to hire Closet Factory to redesign the closet in our master bedroom, as we were doing a major remodel of our master bath and closet space. I put my custom closet project out to bid to three vendors here in town and ended up choosing Closet Factory for several reasons: 1) They did the best job listening to my needs and created the best plan of the three vendors. 2) They offered a reasonable price. 3) The quality of their product is excellent. Now that they have nearly completed the project and I can see the results, I'm so happy that I chose to work with them. From start to finish, they were extremely responsive to our needs, offered great solutions and advice, and were 100% service oriented. They offered extensive advice on how to maximize my space, which was smaller than we had prior to our remodel (as some of the closet space was taken to make room for the walk-in shower). The process for finalizing the closet design was great - as I worked in real time with Jason (via Zoom) to make the final tweaks and adjustments to fit our needs. Their entire staff is very professional, friendly and great to work with. My closet looks fantastic and I can't wait to move my things back in to this new space. I highly recommend this company.

I can't be more happy with the results of my new amazing closet! Jason made a fantastic design and Dave a great installation! I highly recommended their services if you want to upgrade any space in your house! THANK YOU for making the closet I've always wanted, you exceeded my expectations

Met with Nate in about a built in desk and a built in entertainment center in December and he told me he was booked 2-3weeks out. I said, sure no problem, we can handle it in January. Come mid January, he tells me he needs more time. I say sure. Come February I reach out and no answer. Called, emailed and texted, still no answer (mind you I had already given 50% down to him). Finally after not hearing from him for almost 3 weeks he responded and saying he was just getting started on building the cabinets. It's now mid-March and he finally got to installing the units. But don't expect him to arrive at the time he says. He was consistently 2-3 hours late to the time he promised to be here (which required us to adjust work schedules). First day he arrived at 2:30pm after saying he would be here at noon and then had to come back on a Sunday because he couldn't finish it all in one day. Now that's just the communications part, as for the quality of the work. I have been very disappointed. I had asked for a 1.5" wood top on my desk. After install I've noticed it's a single 3/4" plywood top with an additional 3/4" plywood strip on the front to make it look like it's 1.5". Not only that but because it's plywood there are obvious seams on the desktop. And the front is covered with a veneer which bubbled in multiple places and even though he came to glue it back down still does not look great. There are seams in multiple places where he could have easily gone with a full piece of dimensional lumber instead. There are screws protruding on the side of the cabinets which are the only sides that face out so would have expected the screws to be hidden. He left part of one of the tops uneven, even though I brought to his attention before the painters came, so he had to come back out and fix it and the painters had to come back out and fix the paint again. Also when he put in the shelves after the paint (because he didn't have the shelf pins and had to order from amazon), he scratched up the paint pretty badly in pretty obvious places. I've worked in construction as my dad was a contractor and I fully understand things happen or sometimes things don't work out as planned but for the price I paid I would have expected much higher quality and less chasing to get this completed.

We wanted to update our kitchen to be more modern and decided to 1) replace new countertops, 2) paint cabinets white, 3) install new backsplash and 4) paint interior. I didn't want to spent a lot of money and get brand new cabinets since mine are fairly new. Austin Painting and Cabinet specializes in painting your existing cabinets to look new. They did a really good job and far exceeded my expectation. The areas they excelled included * Price - The price was very reasonable for the quality of work you're getting. I compared countertop pricing with JL Cabinets. JL initial quote was 2K cheaper but that's just an estimated price before you select your countertop. After we decided on the countertop, JL ended up being 2K more expensive. Tylers price was similar even after selecting countertop, meaning Tyler initial estimate is based on higher quality countertop whereas JL low ball. * Quality - My cabinets had knotty holes to make it looks rustic. Tylers team had to fill all the holes and sand to smooth all the cabinet prior to painting. I was scared that painting would look cheap. However, these guys specialize in cabinet painting. Their work is high quality. The end result was much better than expected. The cabinet finish was as smooth as butter. There are definitely cheaper options out there but you pay for what you get. Anyone can paint, but what Austin Painting and Cabinet excel in is spending lots of time prepping to ensure the paint looks high end. In addition to cabinet work, we had the living area painted. They covered and taped up every inch of the house to ensure paint didn't spread anywhere. The attention to detail is unmatched which shows in their final work product. * Communication - Tyler responded to all text and kept me up to date on the project. He was on time, every time, as well as his crew. I'm very happy with result and recommend Austin Cabinet and Painting to anyone who wants to update their Kitchen.

U granites & Cabinets More's product and service are so much beyond my expectations. Originally we had the plan to update the kitchen during the pandemic, Amy came to my house to have everything measured, use 3D software generate the 3D model, made sure everything aligned what we wanted. We didn't pull the trigger due to many factors. The year after, we called Amy again. She came to the house, did the measurement, did the 3D model. We backed out again. This year, we called Amy again. She didn't say anything. Came over again, did the 3D model. We paid the deposit. Finally we started the project. During this process, Amy shows her patience, professionalism and attention to the details. Once the demolition and installation started, everything was organized in such a nice, efficient, and less disturbing way. The demolition was done in a day, and every trash was picked. Amy's husband, Victor, came to the house, with his experience and knowledge, discussed every details I need to think through - We removed two parts of the kitchen area so it brought some variations. He provided the options, respected my choice, and of course, with his knowledge about house remodeling trend, to make sure I have well-educated information. With his experience and knowledge, it increase my kitchen countertop's functionality and usage area. I can't thank him enough for that. U Granites & Cabinets are high quality. If you are not familiar with that market, you will get lost - just like me walking into Home Depot to look at those prebuilt countertop and vanity. I like the cabinet's materials, how it built (those features I probably didn't really think about before). I started with the kitchen cabinets and countertops, extended to the bathroom's vanities . I am very happy about the decision, and much more appreciative what Amy, Victor and other staffs at U Granites & Cabinets More has provided. Victor did a huge favor to me by doing all kind of other jobs along the kitchen remodeling. I tell you, that's another level experience and knowledge from him about house remodeling and how to have those done correctly, effectively and cost-efficiently. Cost wise, I gave you my example. I hired a general contractor who quoted me $14K for all demolition (kitchen and tiles) only. My total cost with U granite (Kitchen countertop, cabinets and demolition) is less than that number. If you come across this shop and this review, I highly recommended at least give Amy a call or stop by at their shop to check out their offering. I would be happier that you do choose them as remodeling partners because I know you are making the correct decision.

I'll list my experience below: -padded extra $400 onto quote for sink cut out and new sink which was not discussed during quote process. Luckily I saw that and purchased my own sink (also, they could've used the original sink too, so why add $200 without consulting with the client?) -added extra $40 onto granite removal charge. Quoted me $5/sq ft for removal. -cracked my backsplash and only offered $50 refund, and claimed "they're not responsible for damage" ...what?! -counter top came with scratches and scuff marks which they claim wasn't from them. It was installed in a new home where no one was living, and I saw it the day it was installed. Was definitely them -caused a leak when they removed sink, did not alert me to the severity of leak nor make any attempt to resolve it, which resulted in water piling up in my cabinet for a full day and ruined the bottom cabinets. -did not caulk countertop, so unnecessary open spaces between wall and countertop -damaged brand new cabinetry, also denied that. Sent pictures for undeniable evidence. This company is sloppy and they do not take responsibility for their shoddy work. I cannot recommend this company to anyone considering countertop replacement.
