I started working on decluttering and reorganizing my whole home with Manny last September. We met for the initial consult and he laid out a plan for how to tackle every single room in the house (plus garage, plus backyard shed). My husband and I both struggle with procrastination and there had been projects unfinished around the house for years. Just a few of the many items we finally got done because of Manny: cleaned out my pandemic era home office and made it truly useable. Put shelves in the office closet for storage, including bins and labels. Added shelving and shored up existing shelving in my kitchen pantry, completely reorganized with bins and lazy Susans. Went through every item in both the pantry and kitchen to decide what to keep/toss/donate. He took the donations away for me at the end of every session, and even took large piles of recycling to the recycle center. He measured for, helped me order and then installed lower cabinet pullouts in 10 cabinets. He helped us partially dismantle and move a treadmill across the house to a different bedroom. He hung three large tvs for us. Helped figure out furniture to get rid of, or move to other areas where it would be better used. He went with me to IKEA to design a closet system for the primary bedroom closet, and then demo'ed and installed the closet system. I feel so compelled to share my first encounter with Manny, the owner. He drove all the way from Austin to San Antonio, just for the consultation. I was completely oblivious to this fact- I live in San Antonio, 1.5 hours away! 20 minutes before our appointment I realized I would simply not be able to make it home to meet him. I could have passed out when he said he had driven from Austin. If I had just made that drive, during rush hour no less- I would have been unimaginably upset. Like pissed. It is no exaggeration to say Manny saved my relationship with my mom and husband. We combined households in 2020 when my mom moved in with my family, and we were under a pile of stuff we couldn't get away from or agree on what to keep and lose. After moving into my new home, I was so busy that I never got to finish unpacking some boxes and much of what I did unpack, I really had no use for, so it was stashed in random places throughout my garage. I also had empty boxes sitting around, Christmas decorations that needed to be put up into the attic, gardening supplies that were all over the place. In addition, after 30 years as a teacher and researcher, I had accumulated over a dozen other boxes full of various things from National Geographic Magazines to markers, folders, spiral notebooks, letters, research papers, etc. A lot of this stuff I didn't need but was sentimentally attached to! When COVID was first released I was stuck at home and decided to organize closets and pantry and boxes I hadn't opened since moving in 4 years ago. My husband and I are thrilled with our Tidy Techs makeover! Our garage was a disaster. I had cleaned it twice before by myself, but it was a wreck again in no time. This time is a charm; Andrew has worked a miracle! We had never had a good organizational system for all of the things that wound up out there. What a mess! Instead of telling us what needed to be done, Andrew worked through the process with us. He began by helping us identify what we really still needed and what we thought we might be able to discard.
