Lots and lots of designer handbags! The most I've ever seen for a clothes mentor and I've been to a few all over the country. Most where in really good shape. A few slipped in that had a lot more wear but few. Large amount of inventory. I picked up a Tory Burch Blouse and a kooba Bag on sale. Staff seemed nice but not helpful. I had about 8 dresses in my hand and I had to ask if they'd hold them for me while I browsed. They walked by and around me many times but no one offered. I started to look at the purses and had 5 in my hand and I hear "want me to hold that for you" so I happily turn around only to see they were offering to the lady next to me. So I waited a sec, thinking they might come back to ask me, nope, they just went back to buying. So that was a huge let down for me. I originally went in to sell and was happy with the transaction. When you see what they price the items for, expect an average of $4 per item. They took about 20items so I was happy to unload the clutter. read more

Strike 3------- you're out! Clothes Mentor has always been hit or miss with me. I love a great bargain, I like to hunt down a great outfit for a fraction of the cost but I will avoid clothes mentor from now on and save the frustration. Earlier I received a text for 20% off entire purchase, SCORE, right? So before I make time and load the kids in the car i call just to get a gauge on their Lululemon selection. The young lady who answered today basically said, "I'm not sure.......I don't know.......you'll have to check the racks yourself." It's a Monday, it was noon and she could have easily just said something like, "oh my gosh, we always have a great selection of Lulu or similar brands! We don't hold an inventory of specific items but is there something in particular you had in mind and I can quickly browse?" There's a HUGE difference in tone of voice and pure laziness. She just wanted me off the phone. Sadly, this is not the first time the store has had complaints on lackadaisical employees and not my first time experiencing it. I made it in right after they opened, hoping to sell my designer clothes and purses. I had a large suitcase full of items and was told that first time sellers can only sell a small laundry basket full of items. So I put whatever I could fit into the laundry basket provided and was told it would be a 1-2 hour wait. There was no one ahead of me and no other customers in the store. I left and waited for over 2 hours, never heard from them, so I called and was told they were "just finishing up" with my items. I went back and still had to wait another 10 minutes or so, went up to the counter to ask if they were done and they told me they could take ONE item and offer me $5.00. I declined the offer. What a joke and a waste of time. At this time there were STILL no other customers in the store, just 2 employees chatting away, so I have no idea why it took 2.5 hours to sort through one basket of clothes. The items they had for sale were low quality, faded, etc, so I was surprised they wouldn't take my items, which were all like new and brands such as Buffalo, Guess, Juicy Couture, Coach, Calvin Klein, Express, Bebe, etc. Don't waste your time going here, whether for buying or selling, it's a waste of time either way. read more

When I lived in Virginia Clothes Mentor was my go to place to buy and sell. This was my normal experience at the Virginia Clothes Mentor. 1 - Turn in my clothes for consideration. 2 - Shop/try on/watch stack of what I want to buy grow. 3 - Receive $80 to $100 for clothes accepted. 4 - Spend $80 to $100 on clothes. I was so excited to find a Clothes Mentor near me in Arizona. Sadly I have found nothing to buy. The prices are surprising high for a second hand store. They must give you more for the clothes you bring in? No, they give you less. Customer service is beyond terrible! Do not ask them to come out from behind that counter! EVER! My friend was feeling faint and we asked for some water. Blank stares from the girls behind the counter. Luckily another customer had some water in her car and ran to get it. So you have one customer sitting on the floor with their head between their knees. The other 4 customers in the store tending to this customer's medical needs. Employees? Ive Never sold here before but I was a very frequent customer up until last year when someone else purchased the store! It went downhill from there. The employees are super rude. That is the reason why I don't even go anymore. The girls working there years ago were so nice and knew how to treat customers. Now employees always rude or mad or unhappy! No wait they always have different employees or always hiring I guess the new owner has to check herself because she cant retain anyone. Remember, if you don't know customer service your business wont work. And no wonder i saw many items that been there months or were there since last time I went ! No wonder why you aren't selling. Horrible place , they pay very little for items . I finally asked a friend who worked at this location year ago why , she explain employees will offer customers $10-$15 for items and write up on store books they paid out $55 or more and the employees pocket the difference . Wow! I was shocked n very upset ! . I notice in the past 2 years for $10-$30 I could go to mall and buy new ! Not much of savings here ! Watch your items you bring to sell they break your items and don't tell you , throw it back in basket give back say they did not find items they would purchase . Wow ! I've been following this location on Facebook and Instagram now for months and finally made my first purchase from California on a Mk backpack purse. The transaction was so easy. I commented on their Instagram, they private messages me a link, I ordered and than received a private message saying they received my payment and a very kind message to me along with it. There is so much to choose from! I was able to buy 15 items for $138, and most were Ann Taylor. There is no way I could have afforded a new wardrobe I can be this excited about for the money. The other reason I shop Clothes Mentor no matter what city I am in? Choices! I needed a nice, classic pair of black shorts. The ripped me off. They don't even honor their own price guidelines. Friend took in 900 new designer shoes for me and I trusted they would honor their own pricing...NOPE!! gave her 5 she didn't realize it. I reached out to them and they ignored me. They then blocked me on social media for telling the truth that they ripped me off. Bad business, unprofessional and dishonest. Go elsewhere! They don't even care enough to contact me. I have over 10 boxes of new clothes and shoes I would have considered taking there but no thanks. Immature children shouldn't be running a business. read more

I'm not sure how this place is still in business but they charge more than the Lululemon outlet for items that are not new. I willing to pay more for better quality items but The cheapest pair of Lululemon bottoms that they had for sale was $68. Last years style. Not awful condition but definitely thread worn tanks? $36. I'll stick with My Sisters Closet for realistic pricing They did have a nice selection of things but again the price is untouchable. Also upon entering the smell of the perfume permeates everything. Clothes Mentor is a Womens Resale store for all women sizes 0-26, petites and maternity. They sell better brand-name "gently-used" women's fashions and accessories. I am sooooo thankful this store is in our area. I've been able to update my wardrobe for fall for a fraction of the cost of other stores. One of the items I bought still had the tags on! Have already referred two friends there and they scored as well. Please note: I am plus sized. They are small so you can see that just about anyone can shop there! Check out the website for some of the "looks" you can buy there - business and casual, smart and stylish apparel, shoes, purses and accessories. Plus, if you bring items in, they pay you CASH on-the-spot unlike a consignment shop, where you may wait weeks to receive payment. I've watched this process happen - it is seamless. I will bring my first items there this week and will review how it goes. read more

I'm updating my review. The last few times I've been here have not been so great. Theyre apparently under new management now. They used to ask for your phone number and after so many purchases or money spent, you'd get a discount, apparently they've stopped doing that. It's getting harder to find the awesome deals that I've found before, a lot of their prices have gone up. ( $120 for a Kate Spade bag with stains on it for example). Sometimes clothes have holes/tears that are not disclosed. Also, beware of fakes! I bought a Marc Jacobs bag there that may be fake (long story, but it's due to the quality and type of zipper). Almost bought a Coach bag the other day, that just felt like cheap almost plastic, leather and other aspects of the bag felt like poor quality (if you've owned a Coach bag, you know they never look/feel like Walmart quality). Bottom line, it's still a good place to shop. But it's not as fun, deals are harder to find. And just inspect everything thoroughly before buying. read more
