I have been shopping at Clothes Mentor since they opened their doors for business. The staff starting with their manager, Haley and the rest are friendly, helpful and very out going. I look forward to their video posts to see what they have available. The store itself is very coordinated and clean. I have found a lot of bargains between new designer clothes and accessories for a fraction of the cost of the original price. If you have not tried Clothes Mentor in Highland Village, check them out. Very poor customer service. Just wasted two hours of my time here, and will never go back. I was told it was an hour wait when I came in at 4 in the afternoon, and decided to go do some shopping and then return. So went to TJ Max for an hour, to only then return and sit there waiting for another hour while I watched one of the sales associates try on clothes and another rearranging items on the racks rather than taking a look at my items. Not to mention there is one chair in the entire store to sit in. So literally two hours later, I was told they wouldn't buy anything as my items were "too worn". This could have been done in a matter of seconds if you would simply just glance at the items when the customer came in instead of making them sit there while you try on clothing and decide to rearrange your sales racks. I will never purchase anything from this store after the horrible service I received. Trust the poor reviews, this store should be shut down and the associates reprimanded for such poor customer service. Save your time and go somewhere else! read more

If there were an option for negative stars that would be my choice. Brittany did my "buy" when I brought in 4 bags of clothes (garbage bags) all brand name, all lightly worn... They picked 3 things!!! She was such a B about it too! What a waste of time! NEVER AGAIN! funny thing too is I saw lots of stuff in there that was WAY more dated and worn. I've tried to sell here twice. Both times my items were clean, brand-name (Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Banana Republic, Tahari, etc), current-style dresses and suits in perfect condition that were more than 2 years old - because let's be honest, if it were less than 2 years old I probably wouldn't want to get rid of them! Both times I was told that they would consider items beyond the 2 year mark as long as the styles were current, but both times they rejected almost all of my items (after an hour wait). The few things they were willing to take they offered such terrible prices for ($8 for like-new $120 shoes!) that I refused the offer. The whole thing was kind of insulting. Unless your items are brand new and still have the tags on them, don't bother. read more

Complete WASTE OF TIME!! I took a few shopping bags of clothes for cosignment. Half still had the tags on them from bcbg, bebe, Neimans and Nordstrom. They took nothing! Noting they were beyond the 2 year trend. Most were bought last summer. This was also after I dropped them at 415ish was told it would take 45 minutes and I HAD to be back at 5pm (not because they were closing at 5pm). Save your time and gas and donate to a local women's shelter. read more

I shop at this location ALL the time! I come in and buy clothes on a regular basis. I have had good customer service once, ONCE, and the associate knew I was in a hurry and told me not to worry because my items could be returned/exchanged within 7 days anyways. I left without a worry and hoped my beautiful shoes i purchased would fit comfortably. I was wrong, the shoes were just too small. So i take them back to exchange them, with the intention of buying more clothes, and the associate tells me they aren't refundable. I informed her i was told i could bring them back, but she said NONE of her staff would ever say that. Then she proceeded to show me where it said "non apparel" items are non refundable......I had never worn them......the shoes were literally brand new! I was fixing to buy more clothes....i shop there frequently..... I'd never done anything like this EVER in the past. When I used to work retail we accepted clothing back that looked WAY worse then when they were purchased. I just don't understand the training that is taught in regards to customer service because every Clothes Mentor I have shopped at, except the Frisco/McKinney locations, has been so TERRIBLE. Do you not want your customers to come back? I love shopping there because I work in the area and the selection is awesome, but being mistreated like that made me realize I can take my business to the locations that appreciate my business. Horrible customer service. I waited for 5 minutes just to get the attention of an employee to start a dressing room. The selection is alright. Nothing that sticks out from every other resale store in the area. I prefer much more another cute consignment store down the road. read more

I was very impressed with the store during my first visit today. I can't comment on the selling process since I was there only to shop. Everyone who worked there was very friendly, asking if I needed help, etc. I overhead another shopper receiving help while looking for a dress. When I went to purchase, the woman who checked me out, Adriana (I believe that was her name), was very warm and friendly. I saw they have higher-end designer bags/accessories behind the counter, such as Louis Vuitton and Tory Burch. I was happy to go home with a few "new to me" tops and I will absolutely be back. I would have shopped longer and probably bought a lot more, but my baby was fussy and I had to go. They also had a great variety of shoes, jewelry, scarves, etc. read more

I was told by a neighbor that this was a good place to go to buy decent used clothing at a good price. I was in need of a new purse and did not want to pay an outlandish price so I decided to check out Clothes Mentor. Upon entering the store I immediately saw a salesclerk at the counter organizing clothes. She spoke to a customer that walked past her. I went to the purse display which was along the wall on the same side where the salesclerk was positioned. While looking at the purses, I noted the clerk said hello in greeting at least 3 other customers. At one point, I was no more than 2 feet away from her and she did not even acknowledge my presence. I went to another area of the store where another clerk was putting clothes away on the rack. She also did not even look my way even though she passed right next to me. Even though I was already feeling that the customer service was lacking, I went to the front counter to pay for a purse that I had found. The sales clerk that had been there the entire time was still at the end of the counter and by now another clerk had joined her and they were both speaking with a customer. Their backs were to me as I was next to the cash register. However, I decided that I would wait an entire minute to give them a chance to wait on me. After all, here I was... a customer that was standing there just waiting to give them money. I thought that was the entire premise of a business. In any case, I counted ( one-one thousand, two-one thousand,etc) until a minute had passed. Believe it or not, they did not wait on me. So... right in front of them, I put the purse up and walked out the door. Later, I called the store. Someone named Ashley answered and I asked to speak to the manager. Someone named Michelle came on and I told my story to her. She kept on trying to interrupt me and then said that it did not sound like her store because all of the clerks are very friendly and say hello to every customer that walks into the store. I assured her that what I told her was an exact account of what took place. She ended by saying " well, I don't know what to do except to say I'm sorry if you feel they were rude..." It is a shame that the customer service here is so terrible and that the management did not even TRY to resolve this in a more professional manner. My hard-earned money will be spent in a store that values all customers and goes the extra mile to ensure everyone feels they are being treated the same as others. read more

I brought in several items, with tags attached, and they bought NOTHING. All were more upscale than their items in the store. Actually were rather rude. I waited for much longer than told and decided to have a look around. T.J. Maxx is practically next door with better prices and the clothes are new, not used!!! read more

I will never bother to go this location ever again! The staff is rude!!! They stated that it would take an x amount of time to look through my items. So I was looking for a couple of items to purchase; however, the entire time I was there they followed my daughter and I around the store. My daughter heard them talking about the clothing in a negative way and she told me that I should write a review on them. Whomever, owns this store will find out soon or later that excellent customer service is important to stay afloat! Reading the previous reviews seem to be similar in experience and it is a shame that they have TERRIBLE STAFF!!! read more

Piss poor customer service, items way over priced compared to platos who sell the exact same brands for a way lower price, they never accept any items, and if they do the give you like $3 and sell it for $40 cause it's name brand. Selling to them is a joke. They are rude when they choose to not buy your items. They had a reward program that they would stamp your card when you made purchases. I had finally earned the 20% off coupon only to find out they had stopped that program. They were so rude and said it was a corporate thing and I could call and complain to them. they gave me the number and it was not the right one so she gave me the number to get rid of me. I find nice things but do not care for the staff and their attitude...will go somewhere else where they appreciate the customer and want repeat business. they were just awful. i literally waited two hours until someone said "oh youre just waiting on your clothes? they've been ready for a while!" and sure enough they took abseloutely nothing. waste of time and gas. customer service was awful. cared more about talking to eachother than helping people. read more
