Store is a mess for the holidays and lines taking too long. No room for cart. So hard to find stuff.

This store is fairly organized and has a large selection of merchandise. The lines move fairly quickly.

I'm not a huge JCPenney fan, I mostly shop at their locations because they have a petites section…read morewith business casual clothes for work. I stopped by Friday to replace some worn work clothing and was really surprised by this location! They have a much larger, and better, selection than the one in Denton... hell, better than all the other locations I've been to. This store is also immaculate! It was practically sparkling in there and the sales floor was clean and organized. Most of these locations are a disaster area, but the only area I saw that was a little messy was the dressing rooms (clothes hadn't been cleared out yet). This one is also very large, I wandered through the women's clothing, shoes and accessories and as far as I could tell that was less than a third of the store. I was there about an hour, which is a lot more than I ever want to spend in one of these locations, but due to the size and calmer, more pleasant atmosphere, it wasn't much of a sacrifice. The thing I loved the most was the petites section, it was 2/3 larger than at other stores and in that section, they had plenty of all the sizes! Do you know how rare that is for us short girls? I spent a lot of time going through their different business casual work pants and noticed they had lots of colors and sizes in both their curvy fit (that's my jam!) and modern fit but not a ton of classic fit (maybe that's the most popular?). I saw at least 3 of each size on each rack I perused through. They had a decent selection of button up business casual shirts as well and I saw a ton of dressy clothing too. They also have my size in Clarks shoes which is nice because a lot of locations only carry 7 and up. That wasn't what I was there to get, but I filed that information away for later and saw a ton of purses and scarves I may want to check out on a future visit. I was so impressed that I was leaving with what I needed, instead of settling for 1 or 2 items close to what I needed. I'm definitely going to bring my husband, next time we're in the area, to see their long and tall selection! The only thing I found annoying, though understandable, is that the tags and sales signs didn't match. After 20 minutes of wandering around I realized I had no idea what I was holding since I knew the tags on the product weren't right. Realistically, with their sales, there are too many items to individually mark down tags, and signs per rack are easier to execute. However, if you are grabbing more than a couple of items, you'll have no idea if you are about to go over your budget. The very nice girl at the cashier patiently price checked things for me and I ended up leaving with 3 sets of work clothes and a few casual tops. She was so friendly and gave great service. You get 20% off for having a store card so that was 2 extra shirts right there! Staffing seemed small. I wasn't looking for someone for help, I prefer to be left alone and make my own decisions when shopping because I don't find it a super pleasant experience. I only noticed people at the cashiers and in the dressing rooms, but I was only in a particular section of the store. I noticed this location had a salon, but I'm not sure where it was located, perhaps on the other side of the main entrance. After this first visit, I'm definitely interested in checking out more of the store. This particular JCPenney has a fan forming in me with their generous selection and great prices. I would recommend checking out this location in Flower Mound, as opposed to a mall location in any of the surrounding cities.

The manager, Cynthia Westbrook told me she would not return the pair that I washed because she could not put them back on the sales floor. I told her she needed to damage them out because they stink! She refused to smell them and said no. I repeated again, they stink and no one needs to purchase them, they are damaged. Finally, she said she will return them this time but never again! I told her, don't worry because I will never purchase anything in this store ever again, especially since the jeans I bought stunk so bad. I was so disappointed and embarrassed.

So I stopped here after an appointment just wanted to see if I could find something to where for my Birthday celebration this weekend. As I'm looking at some items near the fitting room. I continuously hear this young female speak very sweetly to all the other ladies entering (Spanish, White, anyone but my race). I walk towards the her um just waiting till she turned around and noticed me. Of course I was also in turn waiting for her to give me a warm Hello there, How are you? I should've known she wouldn't show me that much hospitality. She never really looked at but asked, Do you want to try something own? I politely took a breath and said, Hello, How are you? She looked with embarrassed. Then she spoke, counted the pieces I had in my hand, gave me a number and I went in the open fitting area. As I was trying on my pieces, I'm listing at her bubbly "Hello, How are you, Did everything work out for you etc? I thought it was very funny honestly. I'll never look to spend my coins in an area where folk still act as if they're the ONLY race that should be able to shop or dine in establishments.

This shopping center is huge, it takes up the entire corner of Dixon and Long Prairie…read more There's a huge array of shopping from sporting goods and a Hobby Lobby to a JCPenney, an Ulta and more. There are more restaurants here than in your average shopping center. I haven't eaten at them all, but I am impressed with the variety. You got everything from Panda Express and Which Which to sushi and a Red Robin. That's a lot more variety than what's offered in a typical center. The location itself is convenient for running errands as on the other side of Dixon is the Target shopping center with more stores and restaurants. It's definitely possible to run all your errands in one intersection and I think that's a draw for a lot of people. I've been here a few times and still have only been to a handful of the many, many options here. The parking lot is large and the spaces are a normal size. However, there is so much traffic that it's pretty common for people to dart from other aisles and it can be a little on the dangerous side. The upside is that because the lot is so huge, it's never been completely full so you can usually see these problem drivers coming in time to react. This area is always, always busy so I can't really suggest a better or worse time of day. It still looks new though, Flower Mound does a great job of keeping up the area. It's worth checking out and you can make a day out of it if you're committed enough, lol. :)

Since we were in the shopping center running errands, we decided to stop by and get a couple of things we had been considering for stuff around the house. Upon walking in, the layout was pretty similar. To your left was party supplies, then greeting card, then technology items with games in the back corner. On the right is a majority of your fitness items, clothing and the back right corner is home decor and organization cubes. However, this location seemed quite a bit messier than the shiny location I had visited in Denton a week prior. Their seasonal display was completely empty, just a strange empty spot in the midst of all the clutter. Since we had visited on the same day of the week and roughly at the same time (Saturday at lunch time) as we had the other location, I'm taking a guess that this location is short staffed. I only saw one employee and she was working the register, which is 2 less than what I had seen in Denton. The employee was very friendly and quite cheerful for working by herself. I have no complaints on the service we received at all. I just hope they get her some help, because there were a lot of customers in the store at the time. As a store, this is still a neat concept. I'm always complaining to my husband about dollar stores that shouldn't be allowed to have the word 'dollar' in their name because most of the store is way more than that, lol. This on the other hand, lives up to its name with everything truly being $5 or less. I really like that this is the only discount chain, that I am aware of, that has fitness items. Yoga mats, balance boards, hand weights and many of the apparel and accessories that go with it. That's neat and it's a cheap way to try out a new activity without dropping a lot of cash in case you hate it. They even have skateboards there! Both times I've gone into a location, I've badly wanted to buy the squares to build your own fitness floor. I have no idea why, I wouldn't use it, but I want it, lol. I see this chain as a healthy mix of a place to get last minute items you forgot about (phone chargers, birthday cards, Tupperware, games to keep the kids busy) and a place that gives you ideas on things you didn't realize you needed (lots of storage options, home decor, nifty gadgets like lights for dark corners, a variety of travel accessories). In the ranks of the chain, this location is A-OK and it's worth checking out!
