If you want to get a deal on clothing, shoes, accessories, and/or purses, you should try visiting clothes Mentor one day. They have a lot of options. They have some good prices. You just have to spend time looking their clothes. They do arrange them by size and color. I love their social media advertisements. They set up an outfit and you can buy it over the phone. They also have some items that you can only buy online. If you are going to sell your clothes, know that you will not get much for them. They are very selective on what they buy. They do have strict rules and hot how to sell them, how you should bring your clothes in, etc. I expect you don't get much money for them because they need to make a profit overall. The staff has always been super friendly with me. Parking is available on site but shared with the other businesses. They have dressing rooms where you can try on your clothes. read more

My mother went in to bring her purses to sell, she got there right before the store opened and the young girl (around 20) refused to take her things and accused her of "loitering". I wish i had her name. The disrespect is unreal. It takes a lot for my mom to notice when people are rude to her because she is so optimistic. For her to notice makes me really upset and i wish i had been there. It goes without saying i will not be going back and i highly recommend everyone picks literally anywhere else to go. read more

First of all the staff is amazing , super friendly and welcoming. I've always enjoyed shopping here. If I'm looking for that perfect dress for that special occasion they have it. I've never been disappointed with there selection thru out the year. Not only have I bought dress. I have also bought a few name brand purses and jewelry . I love the is spot as there is always a gem hidden somewhere. It's clean, we'll organized with pretty reasonable prices. Beware of the camera dome directly over the dressing room area. Supposedly, the camera within is angled away from the dressing rooms, but I'm not going to take their word for it. If that's the case, I recommend they take off the dome, so the camera can be seen pointing in the opposite direction. read more

This was a waste of time selling clothes to them. I took a large bin of some designer shoes, some only worn once, including M Kors, Franco Sarto, very cute winter boots Nine West, and heeled sandals. Also took them a laundry basket of folded clothing in good condition. I've sold to other stores so I already sort my stuff ahead of time for the items that are in good condition. This was my first time selling to Clothes Mentor on 1604 West. After drop off, they had a quote ready in about an hour. I returned and they picked out a pair of Chinese Laundry wedge pumps along with a sweater wrap and floral blouse and offered $7 or store credit. Declined and won't be going back. read more

Very unhappy with the way we were treated by the employees there. We completed our purchases with 15 minutes still left to the official time close of the store, but two of the employees were complaining about us right next to us, checking their watch and making faces, and kept pressuring us before our check out. I've worked in retail, and serviced customers long past store close time, and I've never felt the need to be rude to customers. Very disappointed with my experience, and with the maturity of the younger employees. read more

Skip this location and go to the Clothes Mentor by North Star Mall. The customer service at this location is awful and unprofessional, especially the younger sales associates (one of them named Aiyana). When I went to pick up my clothes that were ready and I was given the total of how much they'd offer me, I went through the pile of what they wanted to take. I decided last minute that I wanted to keep a pair of shoes. When I told the associate this, she told me that she could no longer remove the item from the list and she had already "entered" it. The last resort would be to void it. I decided that was fine (I'd rather keep my stuff than sell) -- but I'm not sure why she finalized the trade when I was clearly still going through my basket. Just yesterday, I was at the North Star location and decided at the end to take out a designer hand bag that I didn't want to sell and it was not problem. There was no voiding that needed to be done nor attitude from the employee. But the situation today at the Culebra location was very unpleasant and rubbed me the wrong way. Three of the younger employees all seemed peeved off that I decided to void the trade and I didn't appreciate the looks they were giving each other in front of a customer. Unprofessional. There was no reason to have the attitude they did over a measly $16 that I didn't want to take. A seller is obligated to change their mind and keep their stuff if they want. In the end, I was the one who waited 2 hours and I had no problem with it because I know they were busy. I'm just glad Susan (the buyer) and the other older lady were professional and nice. Anyway, if you need to sell or buy at Clothes Mentor -- go to the North Star location. It's much bigger and employees are a lot nicer. read more

I have never left a review in my life but I felt I had to warn people. Susan was so incredibly rude to me and gave me a lecture about how I should not have brought my clothes on hangers and I had to have a reusable bag or she wouldn't look at my clothes to sell. I told her I hadn't seen that on the website and she said it was there. It was so bad I asked her if I needed to just leave. She said no that since I hadn't been there before they would loan me a bag. I'm sorry I didn't read your FAQ page but just your main selling page where this isn't listed but you made me feel as if I should've groveled for committing some unforgivable faux pas. People like this shouldn't be in customer service. I will never go back here and can't believe a simple errand in my day left me feeling so mistreated. read more

Who doesnt love thrifting right now?! This place Clothes Mentor has been a blessing to my pocket this past year. I shop all the locations and this location is by far my favorite. The staff is pretty amazing . I tend to see the same ladies and they always greet you, stop around from time to time to check on you, they know their regulars, and overall are pretty friendly. The quality of the items here at this location exceeds all of the rest. They are not the biggest store but they do take the time to bring in the best of the best of what customers are selling. The clothes, shoes, accessories, and handbags are in very good condition.....many are brand new! They have a good selection in all sizes even the plus sizes they carry stay pretty full with options and variety. The price points are reasonable for the brands and the quality. These same items at the mall would cost me 3x times the amount so Im good with the price points. This location always smells Amazing & they have great music . It is very organized and cleaned. 90% of the time the clothes are in the correct size unlike Ross. There are many more reasons to love this store. I am so glad I found you. read more

Very disappointed in how they buy or don't buy clothing. I arrived around 1215 and was told that I had several people in front of me, which was fine, and I asked for an approximate time frame. I was told no time could be given but that they would text me as soon as it was done then gave me all the "rules" about leaving the clothes. I almost didn't leave them as it all sounded a little scammy to me but they were my late mothers clothes that were all worn less than a handful of times and I needed to get them out of the house. At 3pm still no text so I called them, they said oh those have been done since 130. I said I never received a text she yea we never texted you. Then I arrive at the store and they have purchased NOTHING I brought in except two pair of shoes. Wow! So if you have clothes to sell I would skip this store location it's a HUGE waste of time!! read more

I went into clothes mentor on October 4 2021. I was greeted when I walked in and I went about my way looking in the aisle. I found 3 pairs of jeans and tried them on. None of them fit. Defeated and walking out Susan said, you didn't find anything? I said no not today nothing fit and it was too much to keep trying. She encouraged me to try a couple other brands and sizes. She asked what brand I knew fit me well and we started looking for that brand. Y'all when I say my dream jeans fell into my lap right then and there, it was amazing. I have been searching for button front high waisted jeans for a good 2 years. I found a pair in my size that fit perfect. I almost cried. For a store that depends on people selling their gently used clothes, they sure do treat their sellers like crap. I once brought things in to sell about two years ago, and I was pregnant hauling all of my things into the store in the dead of summer, just for them to rudely say I didn't bring my things in the proper containment, and refused to look at my things. So I swore I wasn't going to bother with clothes mentor, and just go to Plato's. I mean Plato's isn't great, but at least they'll take my stuff in whatever container I bring it in. So fast forward to my current closet clean, I took everything to Plato's, and they surprisingly didn't take a lot of the brand new things I had. So I figured even tho I had a bad experience last time, let me take the rest to clothes mentor to see what they buy before I donate the remaining items. I called BEFORE I left the house to ask how they want you to bring in clothes, and they just said they needed to be in reusable bags or a hard container, ie laundry basket. So I take everything out of the trash bags and put them in my laundry baskets. I kept my shoes in the trash bags, but put them in a hard container just because I had a lot of new shoes that I didn't want to get scratched on the hard plastic. But ONCE AGAIN they refused my items because the shoes were in the bag, and sticking up higher than the container. The lady rudely tried to explain why it was an issue, and that it's just policy. But quit frankly it's just straight up nit-picky. She told me I could go through my items and pull out fall and summer items, but I had my one year old in the car, and I was not about to leave her alone while I sorted through 6 containers! I wasted my time loading up my items and my daughter in the car to give them another chance. I guess I've learned my lesson once and for all. read more

Don't bother trying to sell your clothes here, I had all the usual brands they say they buy, less than 2 years old, etc. I brought it a few items, and left with $11...not even worth the trip there. I looked around & thought they could use what I brought it more than what they were selling...I will continue to make the drive to the I35 location because they always make a fair offer. And buy most of what I bring in, probably just have better standards. read more

The staff was kind and welcoming. Customer service was great. However, I will not take items to sell at this location again. They are very clear that if you do not make it back by 6pm your items they wish to purchase will be store credit. I received a Text at 6pm my items were ready. Thankfully I returned to the store at 5:30pm because I didn't want store credit. I know they are not going to purchase each item and in the past they have given pretty good prices. I didn't do the math until I got in the car... they purchased 16 items at an average of $3.00 per item. Not worth my time or energy. There is more value in donating. Don't expect much from this location if your goal is to get the best price for your items. Sell your items online you'll get a better return. I wish I had taken the time to do the math before I accepted my $49.00, but it was after 6pm and I know they wanted to close up. Lesson learned for me. read more
