I had never floated before and honestly had no idea what I was walking into. Mildly nervous? Yes. Convinced I might accidentally flip over and forget how to function? Also yes. But Gaby immediately made everything feel easy and welcoming. She explained the whole process beforehand and made us feel totally comfortable. Once I got in, I was shocked at how relaxing it was. I chose to turn the music off, and the dark room + complete silence ended up being exactly what I didn't know I needed. With no phone, no noise, no distractions, my brain finally had a chance to breathe. It's amazing how much mental clutter we carry around without realizing it. My days can get chaotic, and I tend to push important thoughts to the back burner. But just laying there in the quiet gave me the space to sort through things calmly and clearly -- almost like a mental reset button. I walked out feeling lighter, clearer, and honestly a little proud of myself for trying something new. Highly recommend if your brain needs a vacation. I had a wonderful first-time float experience with Cloud 9 Float + Spa! I was a bit nervous at first, but after being warmly welcomed by Gaby and her thorougly explaining the process, I felt at ease. You literally don't need to bring anything. They have everything you need. I only brought my own hair brush, but that's about it. No swimsuit is needed either. It was a private room with a shower and a float tub. I've heard of enclosed float pods, which sounds scary to me, so I appreciated the open float tub. You put the provided ear plugs in before showering and going into the float tub. There is a ring "pillow" that could be used for supporting your head to float. I had to use that on and off until I could get my neck in a comfortable floating position. I liked the blue light in the tub, I wasn't brave enough for complete darkness and not that I knew how to turn it off anyway. You have the option to turn off the music via Alexa, which I at least did to try to somewhat get some sensory deprivation. So, no swimsuit was actually a good thing in aiding no sense of touch on my skin or having to worry about washing all the salt off of it afterward. The float itself was so cool. I loved the no gravity feeling. Weightless relaxation. The tub is large enough to have my arms and legs fully extended. I just had to center and adjust myself if I felt the tub wall until the water calmed, and then I was able to just float and stay in place. I'm not good at mediating and shutting off my thinking brain, so it did take me a while to relax. I definitely could see the benefits later down the road with multiple sessions. The time went by so fast! The ceiling lights will slowly turn on when it is time to get out and shower. Overall, I had a very positive first-timer experience! I felt so relaxed after. Would I do it again? I would like to, but to me it's expensive. But hey, maybe I need to prioritize more self-care in my life. The first float is $50. Then it's $84 for a single 60-minute float. Maybe if there's a good black friday deal later or something, I'd do it. read more

The staff were so friendly and informative, explaining the process and making sure I felt comfortable and had privacy. I found the location to be very clean and quiet. The instructions for how a float works are posted in your private bath room and were super helpful! I can confidently say once I was in the water, I slept for most of my float. While I have yet to enjoy what I bet is an amazing experience at Cloud 9 Float + Spa, I do know that the owner Gaby is a very sweet lady! I stopped in last week to pick up a gift card and she was as nice as they come! Cloud 9 Float + Spa is new to the Folsom area and has only been open for 8 months, but you can tell how much Gaby loves what she does! They offer float therapy, cold plunge, infrared sauna, massage, facials and even nail and feet care! Cloud 9 would make for an incredible day of pampering! My partner and I were in town for work and he's always wanted to try float therapy. I saw a deal on Groupon for an hour of float time and they had the best rating on there so I opted for this spa. I gave them a call the same day and they were able to squeeze us in for an afternoon appointment. I was unable to float due to not wanting to get my hair wet -- lucky enough they also offer massage services. I booked a 60 minute signature massage and we headed over to the spa. Upon arriving, my partner was extremely excited, and the experience only got better from there. We were greeted professionally, filled out our waivers (which you can also do ahead of time) and were seen almost immediately which was great! The space itself is extremely clean, serene, and all of the staff we encountered were very sweet and friendly. My partner went off to his float room and I was escorted into the massage room by my masseuse Annalicia. She confirmed the service I wanted and allowed me time to get settled before we started the session. The massage was nothing short of amazing, and I loved that she was attentive to tense areas without me having to point them out. She also asked what type of pressure I preferred which I appreciated the attention to detail. At the very end she went over an assessment of the areas that need more attention in the future, and recommended what type of massage would best benefit that. I loved her holistic approach and feedback she gave. I waited for my partner in their relaxing lobby-ish room, and when he came out he looked more relaxed than I had seen him be in a LONG time. He described his experience as unique, and realized how much overthinking he does in general. While it took him a while to settle into a relaxed state, he was able to settle his nerves and thoughts in the end. He chose to float in darkness, and the sound system wasn't working in his room so it was also silent. However, he agreed that his body and mind felt immensely better after the session. When we checked out, we received the same amazing customer service as when we came in. There was a slight issue with the billing, but they were very responsive and were able to fix the issue. Would we book another session with them? Both my partner and I agreed we absolutely would! A 10/10 experience with wonderful staff and a relaxing atmosphere overall. Definitely recommend booking directly with them so you can do any add ons or learn more about their other services. read more

Cloud 9 Float Spa in Folsom is close by my favorite yoga studio, Nyla Yoga. I booked my first float today after a Saturday morning yoga class. The combination-- yoga and floating-- is amazing. It's like going on a luxury spa retreat. I had a whole room and float pool all to myself. Soft music (optional) and perfect low blue light added to a soothing feeling of relaxation. The float pool and spa was very clean, and the spa had all the right amenities -- towel, robe, first class shampoo products. After the float, my skin was so soft from the Epsom salts used in the float pool. I am definitely going to treat myself to repeat visits to Cloud 9!!! read more
