Much needed gourmet coffee house. Breakfast Tacos and Club sandwiches are amazing too.

We also tried the chilaquiles (you do have to add your choice of chicken, steak, or egg, but it's worth it), and they were full of flavor. The standout for us was the lemon poppy seed pancakes--absolutely delicious and a must-try! They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice depending on the weather. The service was very attentive and accommodating, which made the experience even better. Overall, such a cute spot with great food--we'll definitely be back!

My girlfriend and I stopped for brunch and thought it was just good overall. We were seated…read moreoutside, which made for a nice atmosphere in the morning. The hostess staff were incredible and very welcoming. However, our server was a bit inattentive throughout the meal. Refills, to-go boxes, and the check all took a while longer than expected. For food, we ordered the Café Borgía, Chilaquiles with egg and chicken, the Matagorda Omelet with spinach, and the Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes with strawberries and blueberries. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out to us. The pancakes were pretty dense, and while you could definitely taste the poppyseed, we didn't get much lemon flavor from them. Overall, not a bad breakfast spot, but it didn't quite live up to some of the other meals we had during the trip.

Coffee and art your vibe? Come visit Kaapeh House off Paredes Ln Rd. Kaapeh is next to Breadsmith,…read moreand a stone's throw from 7 Brew. It's very relaxing sipping on a cortado in a nearly empty coffee shop watching backed up lines circle around 7 Brew. Did you know Kaapeh House also has a drive thru? It's only a matter of time until this best kept-secret is let out of the bag. Anyway, the shop is super adorable. It reminds me of a miniature McNay and Press Coffee up in San Antonio, since it's covered in framed art pieces, and has a loft section. They have a respectable-sized menu, with your standard offerings. I brought my parents with me, and they had two white mocha lattes, and I had a mocha latte and a cortado. The cortado was good - not the best, but it was enjoyable. The mocha - I'm still sipping on it as I type this, to be honest. I'm trying to savor it. It's sweet and delicious, and has a very cozy feeling about it that I'm trying to zero in the source - I think it's the viscosity. The baristas are really cool - one had bright pink hair. She was very nice and complimented my hair, too. The guy I think was still learning? He was also very nice and he made and delivered our drinks. I swear, every time I swing by Brownsville, there's a new coffee shop to try out. I love this new trend, because they've all been pretty impressive. Kaapeh House is no exception. I'd definitely come back, especially to enjoy the art and atmosphere.

Decided to take a chance and went to Kaapeh next door. This place is a freaking hidden gem!! Such a cool vibe inside but there IS a Drive thru also.
