Came for brunch on a Sunday. Our group was quickly sat outside. Food was good and so was the iced coffee. Their juice menu is really good too... didn't get a pic of that.

Not one berry in the crepe...

We were a party of eight. Service was good and everyone enjoyed their breakfast ... except me I ordered crepes because of the discription " stuffed with a medley of berries" I got two crepes with a banana and Nutella and one small strawberry sliced atop. The chief needs to honor the menu

We stopped by Josephine's Kitchen on our last day at SPI after seeing all the buzz on social media. The place was packed, but we were lucky enough to get seated right away. The menu had plenty of tempting options, but my husband and I both went with the chicken and waffles and added a side of hash browns. We couldn't resist also ordering the pancakes to try. We each had an iced coffee to go with our meal, and it was delicious. The chicken and waffles did not disappoint crispy, flavorful, and a generous portion. The pancakes were fluffy and tasty too, but after digging into the main dish, we ended up boxing most of them to go. The food took a little while to come out, but considering it was a full house, that was expected. Overall, it was worth the stop and definitely lived up to the hype!

Avocado toast with poached eggs and hash browns. Delicious!

The food here is so good and the coffee is delicious. Prices are reasonable and we will definitely be back when in South Padre.

10000/10 recommended! Every time we visit SPI, we will always stop at Josephine's for breakfast on the day we leave. It has become a tradition. Yes, it does get busy fast. Waits aren't too bad, but worth it. Service is always great. Staff is amazing, as well as customer service. We've had a variety of menu items. Benedict's are tasty! Pancakes and crepes are . You can't pick anything bad. The mimosa carafes are nice as well as specialty coffee drinks! It's a must try!

It gets PACKED so be prepared. But worth it Large menu but so good, we went for breakfast and got the ham egg sandwich (HUGE) and some platter pictured and it was gobbled up. In fact, that's why I don't have a picture of the ham and egg sandwich because I just dive right in Ambiance is classic diner - loud, packed in, but everyone is happy

Food was tasty and servuce was excellent (thanks Rosa!). I wanted to give this a five, but the pancakes and crepes were a little overdone and the crepes mussette was not stuffed with berries, just a banana and Nutella with a few strawberry slices and 3 blueberries tossed on top. Even so, they tasted great and the orange juice really did appear and taste fresh squeezed.

I had the ranchero omelet. It was amazing, soo good! My coffee cup was huge so it was perfect. No more asking for refills constantly lol We got seated quickly. Coffee was hot and delicious

This was my first time on South Padre Island. We decided to eat breakfast at Josephine's Kitchen. The place was packed so we expected a wait; not too bad maybe 20mins and they text you when your table is ready. The wait staff was attentive and quick to turnover and clean tables. They have a good selection of American and Tex Mex options. We decided on your standard American breakfast. Everything was freshly prepared. The restaurant has a good selection of flavored Mimosas. And did I mention you get a complimentary pic and you can also purchase a framed souvenir pic as well. Next time I'll try a more Tex Mex breakfast option.

Service was top notch and friendly. Ordered eggs with bacon, has browns and toast substituted for waffles. Husband had eggs, sausage, and waffles with has browns. Coffee was hot and served in oversized cups. Would definitely come back for breakfast. Serves lunch too.

Everything about our visit to Josephine's was great! We were visiting SPI, and this was our first stop, a recommendation from our condo. I ordered avocado toast which came with two poached eggs, avocado slices, tomato slices, and hashbrowns. I ordered coffee as my beverage. My husband and daughter ordered sausage and biscuits with gravy. Everything was served as ordered and was great! Kudos to the kitchen staff! Special shout-out to our server, Maria Del Rosia, and hostess, Irene, who was glad to answer my questions about the cafe's namesake. Both Maria and Irene were awesome! It was a comfortable atmosphere. We will be sure to come again next time we visit SPI.

Lesli and I have been in town all week and we ate breakfast at Josephine's each morning. Every dish was great, every server was great, and Miss Irene runs a wonderful restaurant. I recommend Josephine's highly and we will be back the next time we're on the island!

The hostess staff were incredible and very welcoming. However, our server was a bit inattentive throughout the meal. Refills, to-go boxes, and the check all took a while longer than expected. For food, we ordered the Café Borgía, Chilaquiles with egg and chicken, the Matagorda Omelet with spinach, and the Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes with strawberries and blueberries. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out to us. The pancakes were pretty dense, and while you could definitely taste the poppyseed, we didn't get much lemon flavor from them. Overall, not a bad breakfast spot, but it didn't quite live up to some of the other meals we had during the trip.

It's not much to look at, small, simple, not a whole lot of improvements over the years. But, they did have plastic flaps that dropped down on the outside of the place to keep the wind and cold weather out, heaters provided too! Service by Aaron was top notch, start to finish! We initially just decided to stay to a drink and move on ... but as we sat there and looked at the menu, sipped our drinks, we saw other food coming out of the kitchen! It looked GREAT! We ordered the crispy oyster tapas (fried oysters on homemade potato chips with mango pico). They came out quickly and were oh so tasty! We were convinced! Time for dinner! We ordered a rueben sandwich (with homemade parmesan potato chips) and the snapper veracruz (tomato, onion, olives, capers) with grilled zucchini. The sandwich was da bomb ... piled high corned beef, kraut and dressing, pickles on the side. The snapper dish is one we make at home, and this one was darn good! So, glad we stayed! This place puts to shame some of the other "fancy" places on SPI! "Don't judge a book by its cover" rings true here! Highly recommend you try the Cafe! We'll be back for sure ...

The atmosphere was fantastic, especially with the ocean breeze coming through. We ordered the steamed mussels, the grilled red snapper sandwich, and the grilled red snapper entrée. Our favorite dish was the red snapper sandwich. It tasted fresh and had more of a homestyle feel rather than something overly polished from a professional kitchen, which we really appreciated. Honestly, everything tasted fresh, comforting, and well prepared. The service was also incredible throughout the night. The only slight issue we had was spotting a cockroach crawl from under one of the chairs when we pulled it out. However, considering the restaurant is basically right on the beach and outdoors, insects are somewhat expected, and it honestly didn't take away from the experience for us. Overall, great atmosphere, great food, and a really enjoyable dinner spot in South Padre.

Our waitress, Marlene, was fabulous. She was attentive and friendly. For our entrees, we ordered the Filet Mignon and the Smoked Duck Breast. The filet was incredibly tender and flavorful, which isn't always easy to achieve with such a lean cut of meat. The beef jus paired perfectly with it. The duck breast was tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The highlight of the night, however, was the Key Lime Soufflé. This was easily one of the best desserts I've ever had. The balance of flavors was perfect. Not too sweet, not too tart, just the right amount of key lime. The soufflé itself was also baked perfectly. Every course was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the entire meal felt incredible from beginning to end. If you're visiting SPI and looking for a memorable dinner, F&B is absolutely worth a visit.

Hustle is her middle name... thank you ma'am, you made the evening! The menu was a chef's selection 4 course menu, with options for each course. We opted for the wine pairings with each course. The restaurant was decked out with New Year's regalia... with balloons, hats, noise makers, at every table... really fun atmosphere! All the staff were decked out fancy, looked great! For our first course, we selected lobster bisque mushroom soup. The mushroom soup was divine, absolutely fabulous. The lobster bisque was sub-par... while plentiful, the lobster was not fresh, tasted very fishy. The second course of the seafood medley and venison bites was equally Jekyll and Hyde! Venison, superb, tender, cooked perfectly, tasted great. The seafood medley, all super fishy ... not fresh! Crab claws mushy too, obviously frozen prior. Oysters pitifully small and warm. Shrimp, while cold, were very fishy and mushy, as if previously frozen. No bueno! Our third course was the surf/turf and Akashi short rib ragout. The turf was awesome, best steak we've had in years! The lobster ... pitiful, small, overcooked, tough and fishy! Disgusting! The ragout was good, but we're not sure why chef's make beef dishes sweet ... good beef stands on its own, no need to over season! Not a well conceived dish... Our final course was the chocolate soufflé and lemon cake ... both were terrific! The soufflé with Chantilly cream and whipped cream was very good. The star dessert was the lemon cake with fresh fruit! Light and airy cake, the fruit was to die for. Delicious! The wind pairings were good, although some of the selections were "tired" favs, like "The Prisoner"... IMHO. Such a good wine list at F&B, the pairings were disappointing! The staff whisked away a 1/2 finished pre-dinner martini, which Marlene graciously replaced! When you spend $500+ on dinner for two, even a special evening, the restaurant should deliver. F&B did not meet the standard on New Year's Eve. We won't be back this trip..,

This review is really only based on the overall experience since the coffee was good: Pros: 1. My coffee order. Vanilla latte- strong and not too sweet. The cup makes a cute photo moment (pictured) 2. The baristas who took my order & made my coffee, they were nice given the circumstances (see below) Cons: 1. There was a family with (no exaggeration) 10+ children ordering before us and it was chaotic the second we walked in. The place was already packed, so it was overwhelming to say the least. I have no issues with children, as they were just being children. It was the lack of social awareness, control, & organization from the parents. Ice cream/coffee orders were being shouted in all directions, orders being changed multiple times, etc. It took so long for us to even order...and then an additional wait because they had ordered so much. I know it's not the establishment's fault, I'm just being honest about my experience. Maybe there should be a limit on how many people are able to crowd the front since it's a small space? I felt bad for the workers, they did a great job keeping it cool and professional. 2. There was a group of "Christian" men who seemed like they had a long meeting. They were having a very loud and racist brain rot induced discussion about their views on how diversity and inclusion are ruining this country. I've seen comments like that online and always assumed it was bots...was flabbergasted to actually hear it in person that was frustrating. Again, not the establishment's fault. But as a person of color myself, including the baristas, it was just very uncomfortable and wild to experience. It seemed like they felt too comfortable being that bold in there and that's suspicious to me. I literally chose this shop to avoid another notoriously racist coffee shop with a politically aggressive owner on the island! 3. The bathroom was gross. I can only give this place 2 stars only for the coffee and service. The workers all did a fantastic job, seriously give them a raise! However, we left overstimulated and extremely annoyed. Not sure if I'll ever be back. Hey, at least the coffee was good.
