Cute, relaxing little cafe in south padre island serving up locally roasted coffee beans and excellent ice cream Frappuccinos. Vibe: the shop is small, but has a good amount of seating, including a big cozy sofa. It feels coastal, casual, and relaxing. Service: The servers were very nice and explained the menu to us, giving us a few recommendations. They explained that they use coffee beans roasted on South Padre Island, which they also sell bags of in their little gift shop area. Drinks: We went with their suggestion of a salted caramel Karmaccino, which is essentially a Frappuccino with a scoop of blue bell ice cream. It was dense and absolutely delicious! A very good drink that will give you an exhilarating boost of caffeine and sugar to keep you going on your vacation. We also got a cortado, which was solid, but had too much milk. If you want a quick caffeine fix whole in SPI, we definitely recommend swinging by for one of their signature Karmaccinos! This spot is Let's Eat Houston approved.

This is a cute little coffee shop with sandwiches, bakery items and ice cream!! It was fairly busy with to-go orders and there was only one cook in the kitchen so it took time to get our food. I ordered an iced caramel latte with the bagel karma (no bacon), it was good but could have used a bit of hot sauce. My sister got the savory croissant and she thought it was just ok.

My chai latte is only half way filled up and hot was like warm. Had t lo go back in to ask to microwave it. Will not return

This is a cute spot I found a little walk away from the beach! They have different flavored syrups for your latte, ice cream, and pastries in the case. They had free sour belts to try at the front and my little cousins loved that! The café is a nice place to hang out or study. Service was fast but when it gets busy, it does take a while longer for your order to come out. Be patient! The coffee isn't bad! This was my favorite coffee shop on the island!

No waiting walked right up to the ice cream counter ordered, then coffee and pastry order was quick and easy. Very friendly barista/money guy. Nice calm music playing beautiful inspiring photos and art throughout. The Sea Salt Brownie and Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream were tasty and not too sweet. Now, the double chocolate chip muffin was so decadent. Both caffeine fixes were spot on and very smooth. Definitely, my go-to for a hit of java.

Lovely coffee spot, perfect for a vacation stop! The coffee is a solid 10/10--whether you prefer it bold and dark or more flavorful. The danishes were so good we ended up buying more than usual. A little getaway within your getaway!

***Tourist Review *** My boyfriend and I stopped by for some morning coffee and we were content with the product. It's a little pricey, but it's also a tourist location, so I'd say the price is expected. We ordered a double shot of espresso and an iced latte with caramel. The iced latte had adequate caramel:milk:espresso ratio and the double shot was prepped well. I had planned to pick up a pastry for breakfast, but the options weren't catching my eye. The interior was clean and they had plenty of seating. Overall, a good experience! If I was here for one week, I can def see myself coming back!

How reliable is the WiFi? And how quiet is this spot to get some work done and take a few work meetings from?

The WiFi has always been great for us! It is pretty quiet normally, but that varies depending on the number of customers in at one time. Will and his staff will take care of you for sure!

Is this a good place to study or get some work done for a few hours?

Many people come here for hours at a time to catch up on work, etc. Free Wi-Fi is blazing fast, and the ambience is laid-back and generally quiet.

The hostess staff were incredible and very welcoming. However, our server was a bit inattentive throughout the meal. Refills, to-go boxes, and the check all took a while longer than expected. For food, we ordered the Café Borgía, Chilaquiles with egg and chicken, the Matagorda Omelet with spinach, and the Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes with strawberries and blueberries. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out to us. The pancakes were pretty dense, and while you could definitely taste the poppyseed, we didn't get much lemon flavor from them. Overall, not a bad breakfast spot, but it didn't quite live up to some of the other meals we had during the trip.

2 stars (3.5 for island food)…read more The menu's a mix of local seafood and Tex-Mex. My family ordered a variety of the seafood dishes, and they were not that good. I went with a Mexican plate. Mexican plate, $13.90:Tostada -- really good, Beans -- fine, Rice -- fine, Enchiladas -- just slightly better than frozen. Fettuccine Alfredo, $16.99 (+$4.99 chicken add-on) -- my daughter got this and it was one of the better things on the menu. She finished the whole plate. Nacho trio, $15.99 -- the salsa was fine, the guac was really good, but the queso was a 1-star. This is one of those places that doesn't know how to do queso but puts it on the menu anyway. More like just melted Velveeta. Beyond the food being mediocre at best, we had a few service issues. My order came out wrong, I asked for cheese and got beef enchiladas. I'd also ordered a drink that never came; when the server finally made another round, I asked about it so she finally put it in. Service was pretty slow and a few things came out wrong, but we were hungry and it was so busy that we didn't really bother making a fuss. In general it's probably okay food for the island, but I would not return.

We initially just decided to stay to a drink and move on ... but as we sat there and looked at the menu, sipped our drinks, we saw other food coming out of the kitchen! It looked GREAT! We ordered the crispy oyster tapas (fried oysters on homemade potato chips with mango pico). They came out quickly and were oh so tasty! We were convinced! Time for dinner! We ordered a rueben sandwich (with homemade parmesan potato chips) and the snapper veracruz (tomato, onion, olives, capers) with grilled zucchini. The sandwich was da bomb ... piled high corned beef, kraut and dressing, pickles on the side. The snapper dish is one we make at home, and this one was darn good! So, glad we stayed! The atmosphere was fantastic, especially with the ocean breeze coming through. We ordered the steamed mussels, the grilled red snapper sandwich, and the grilled red snapper entrée. Our favorite dish was the red snapper sandwich. It tasted fresh and had more of a homestyle feel rather than something overly polished from a professional kitchen, which we really appreciated. Honestly, everything tasted fresh, comforting, and well prepared. The service was also incredible throughout the night. The only slight issue we had was spotting a cockroach crawl from under one of the chairs when we pulled it out. However, considering the restaurant is basically right on the beach and outdoors, insects are somewhat expected, and it honestly didn't take away from the experience for us.
