Alresa was calling customers to reschedule facials because there was road work outside the shop and she did not want their experience to be less than perfect. The treading was done so well. She's fantastic - makes you comfortable during the most uncomfortable beauty process (Brazilian), is always very careful & as gentle as she can be. & she Threads, which I love! So personable & sweet, she makes a waxing session feel like chatting with a girlfriend. You do have to book appointments in advance, but that's just a testament to how great she is. & there's always free parking, a huge plus. read more

i've been to alresa twice, once for a bikini wax and the other for eyebrow threading. she is totally professional, pain free (as much as hair removal can be), thorough and sweet! i definitely recommend her. my sister and i found her through other great reviews and have had great experiences. i just moved here and i'm so glad to have found a permanent hair removal place. i think she works for herself, so it's nice to support someone's own endeavors. **update** i can't get enough of alresa. now that i've gotten to know her and my sister is setting her up on dates, i feel like i should ask her to hang out with us. is it a little weird that she's seen our naughty bits? i hope that more people go to her. the last time i went i scheduled a threading and she called me back because she needed to reschedule because of a death in the family. but she was so sweet that she only wanted to push the appt back a few hours! so hardworking and dedicated to her customers. i told her not to sweat it and to be with her family until the next day. she was so appreciative. such a sweet girl. read more

alreasa is a magician! best brazilian i've received...painless, quick and thorough. i started going to cloud nine in 2007 when i moved to oakland for a few months. have since moved back to new york city but when i visit the bay area, i try to schedule an appointment with alresa (though i do have someone in queens who i love as well). one of the reasons i'm happy to be back in the east bay for a few months is because of alresa! i echo all the other rave reviews. she is professional, sweet and an expert at what she does. i agree that you have to make an appointment about a month in advance, but i wax on a regular basis so i'd rather make my appointment ahead of time. no complaints here! read more

Cloud nine is alright. Not very much ambiance, but not a big deal - I suppose that helps keeps the prices reasonable. I got a brazilian - I was impressed by how quickly she worked, but later I discover the downside... there were a few sections overlooked. I would go back, but I think I'll probably keep shopping the area. read more

I've been going to Alresa for awhile now... lets see ever since the birth of my child which affords me no time to drive into the city to see my former esthetician, who I loved. Cloud Nine is 5 minutes from my house. But that's not the only reason that I go - she is INCREDIBLE! Waxing is never painless; anyone who tells you so is a damn fool and an incredible liar. Alresa waxes in a way that causes me the least amount of pain out of any esthetician I have ever seen, including my former love! She takes the time after she's done to make sure there are no in-growns brewing under the surface (which I am extremely susceptible to) and tweezes whatever needs to be tweezed. She also applies her "windex" to all of your irritated bits which really helps calm things down - you just have to trust me on this, its good stuff. Anyway, run, don't walk, to see Alresa if you're in need of some female-scaping and good conversation. But don't over work her too much! The girl could use a day off. read more

I first heard about Cloud Nine from Yelp and saw all the great reviews about Alresa so I thought I'd check it out. I got my very first Brazilian with Alresa about a month ago and although it was painful (I don't have a high tolerence for pain), it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. She made me very comfortable and put me at ease with every rip of the strip. And she was making conversation with me throughout the whole waxing to get my head off the pain. And yes, the backside hurts LESS than the front. I will definitely go back to Alresa. She's great! Now a month later, the hair is starting to grow back, but not a lot. I had my eyebrows threaded there about a year ago. It took me until my next haircut to have someone point out that one was significantly higher and more arched than the other. I cut bangs and I notice this flaw even more. I don't know if anyone else notices or even if I care that much, but I am slowly growing them back to full thickness so that I can shape them better. She is good at detail, but her sense of balance is off. read more
