The shopping center is right next-door to the Truckee McDonald's. The place is nice on the inside. It was bright and clean, and everybody was friendly. You order and pick up your food from the counter. I have never heard of a "sushi burrito" before, so I decided to give it a try. It was with Roasted Seaweed for the "tortilla", Sushi Rice, Avocado, Cucumber, Red Cabbage, Carrot, Spicy Mayo, and Crunchy Onions. For my two proteins, I had Ahi and salmon, and I paid an extra buck to have Masago in it also. The burrito was big, and it was good. The rice was a good texture, they were very generous with the proteins, and all of the other ingredients played very well with each other. I loved the crunchy onions. They added a bit of a contrast, otherwise it would've been soft, soft, soft. I asked the lady if the spicy mayo was very spicy, and she said it wasn't. I agree with that. It was just enough that I knew that the spice was there, but it did not "blow me out." Probably the only negative, was that the seaweed "tortilla" didn't quite wrap all the way around the food, so it made it a little tricky to eat. But overall, it was really good. Quartz Ramen - The creamy broth was my second favorite and the amount of chicken, fried onions, and broccolini were a nice touch. My guess is this is more common with an early reservation than later, and I'm not putting all the blame on the restaurant, but when dinner for two costs $700+, that's just not cool. Maybe a baby sitter fell through or something, but this price point is Fine Dining. I guess next time we'll try for a later reservation, and perhaps ask to sit at the bar if this happens again.
